   Basil and Barley Pizzeria is a fun, modern pizzeria. We went for the gluten free crust and it did not disappoint. It was nice and doughy and you couldn't tell it was Gluten Free. Our server Nicole was great and super nice. We never felt ignored and she was great helping us decide on desserts and drinks.

   Basil and Barley continues to be a favorite. Their staff is great, Savanah our waitress did a great job throughout the evening. Moving back east soon and will miss this restaurant.

   The server was rude, and then hit on my husband when I went to the restroom (in front of our daughter). It took us nearly an hour and forty five minutes to get three pizzas…

   The restaurant was clean and our table was ready at the reservation time. The Caesar salad was good. The pizza was a little soggy. Good beer selection. The waitress was good-she checked on us a couple times while eating. The beer and wine selection was very good. Overall a good experience, although we were disappointed in the flavor and texture of the pizza.

   The food was amazing, some of the best pizza I’ve had. The ambience was nice. The service though was terrible. Our server seemed to be more concerned with standing at the host stand and talking to her coworkers, than doing her job. She sat us and then walked away, didn’t ask us our drink order until 10 minutes later. Never checked on how our food was or how we were doing. We had to ask for plates and napkins. It was a fairly empty restaurant, it was clear we were her only table. She seemed like she could care less. That’s the only thing I wish was different. We’ll be back for the food, but if the service is a consistent thing like this I doubt we will.

    I don’t usually (ever) write reviews, but our waitress, I don’t remember her name but she had pink hair, was absolutely wonderful. She was so personable and the sweetest thing ever. The owner also came and spoke with us and made us drinks. So even though the food was 5 stars, the people were what made it so great. 😊

    We wanted to love this place. The location is perfect and the reviews were great, so we decided to spend our anniversary here. Our server didn't bother to bring our waters until after our appetizer and salad had arrived. She was too busy chatting with coworkers on the slow Tuesday night. When she did bring our waters she brought my 3&5 year olds cups with no lids. Then My water sat empty for at least 20 minutes. The Focaccia was thin and incredibly burnt (beyond the normal wood fired crispiness). The salad was fine even if I did have to toss it and serve it out of the large bowl with a fork. The pasta was not tossed in the sauce prior to going in the oven so the noodles on top were burnt. The supreme pizza was awful. Even the spots that weren’t crispy tasted incredibly burnt. The middle of the pizza was wet like the olives and veggies hadn’t been drained first. It was inedible, not even my husband would eat it. Despite conveying this to our server we never heard from a manager and got a whopping 8% off of the pizza that sat there entirely uneaten.

    In town for the Pikes Peak Marathon and wanted to try Basil & Barley which was right across the street from the hotel. Wow is all I have to say. The namesake pizza Basil & Barley is amazing made with their activated charcoal dough. Manager was also very nice and showed passion for their product and great recommendations for wine. We will definitely be coming back next year when we do the PPM again.

    I’ve always had a great experience with the food and this time was no different. Our server was the best this time though. I can’t recall her name, but her service and timing was perfect. Got our drinks to us and gave us enough time to choice appetizers and our main entree. She was super knowledgeable about the menu and made perfect recommendations. I hope she stays on and we get to have her next time. She refilled our beverages several times and was attentive and seemed approachable and nice.

    Very creative dishes and many pizza options make Basil & Barley Pizzeria Napoletana a good choice for exploration in dining options. Don't like the taste of the charred pizza crust, however.

    First impressions were noisy, cramped, but cute layout. We had a reservation so getting seated wasn't a problem and we secured a booth. Our server was very pleasant and got our drinks delivered. We ordered the charcuterie to start and it was very good, though they were out tellaggio. The jam and meats and cheeses were excellent and well priced. We then ordered two pizzas. The Vesuvio was disappointing as several of us thought the crust was on the raw side. The other pizza was very good. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Same reasons we had to get rid of our stuffed crust opetions, the 1000° oven doesn't give us enough time to cook things through if there are too many toppings or the curst is too thick. That said we are really glad you enjoyed your expereince with us.

    Truly fantastic Neapolitan pizza! I've been to Naples and this was as good as it comes outside of Naples... Service was outstanding. Beer selection was good and it was cold. Well done!

    The service was super slow and had to ask multiple times for things as the server did not remember. Food was poor quality, ordered a salad and half of the lettuce was bad.

    We placed a 7:15 p.m. reservation for this evening and arrived at 7:08 p.m. When we arrived, we were thanked for putting in a reservation and then told we’d have to sit either in the bar seating area or at a high table. There were 2 booths and a low table available but we were told we couldn’t be seated at any of those tables. I’m a disabled veteran who had just parked in a handicap slot and limped into the restaurant, so I laughed at first… but she was serious. We decided to take the high table and pray for the best. 🤷🏻‍♀️ A few minutes later, an able-bodied couple came in and were immediately seated in a 4-person booth, no h situation and no questions asked. I figured the food would make up for the terrible hostessing but found out quickly, that wouldn’t be the case. The Bruschetta appetizer had NO flavor; our pizzas weren’t anything near to Napoletana standards (we were stationed in Italy for 3 years, so we know). We had two glasses of alleged red Italian wine that were simply NOT worth the $11 price tag each that we paid. Our waitress was rushed for no reason and nearly cut my 19 yr old son with a pizza cutter as she clacked down the oils, pepper, and Parmesan cheese that were supposed to be accompaniments to our pizzas. Our drinks were clacked down in the same manner… to include refills. My Parma specialty pizza did NOT include Prosciutto di Parma ham as was advertised. The prosciutto used was too thick and nowhere near melted the way it’s supposed to when eaten (again, we were stationed in Italy for 3 years… we know). The burrata cheese was also hard on top, and the plums were off-putting, to say the least. We had reservations set for the upcoming USAFA Parents Weekend but, thanks to this experience, have cancelled those and saved ourselves any further disappointment.

Also we get a ton of compliments from people who have lived in Italy and visited about our wine selection and our pizzas so I am very sorry that this entire experience did not even remotely live up to expectations.     Our waitress was very sweet and helpful but neither of us loved our food. The gluten-free crust was yummy but overall the basil and barley pizza was too salty…in fact had to ask for some diced tomatoes to put on it to be able to eat it. My husband said his pizza was fine but didn’t love it. For the price, we prefer pizza from other places.

    We had not visited Basil and Barley since the ownership change, and were not sure what to expect. We can happily say that the pizzas are just as good as before, which is fantastic because we really enjoy the pizzas. We will definitely be back soon.

    My husband and I went on Saturday afternoon (7/16) for the first time. We were excited to have authentic Neopolitan pizza like we did in Italy, and it had received many great reviews. IT WAS TERRIBLE!! WE WILL NEVER GO BACK!! I get Neopolitan style pizza should have a bit of char, but the bottom of my pizza crust was completely burned to ashes. I’m pretty easy to please and haven’t sent anything back in years, but I sent this back. She offered to have it remade, and it came out completely burned again! I was polite and just took it. Really frustrating for something that costs $18. It was completely inedible, it was eating complete charcoal, couldn’t taste anything but burned ashes. Our poor waitress who was very nice said “their oven was dirty, hence the burned remnants from all the other pizzas”. Poor quality, product and cleaning practices. Wanted to give it zero stars but it wouldn’t let me. It was far from Neopolitan and absolutely terrible. Waste my money, saves yours! Makes me really miss Ducas!

    Truthfully we hadn’t been to B&B since before the pandemic when you could barely get a table. It used to be difficult to get in. We were surprised and a little worried that there were few diners during dinner hour last night. The food was just as scrumptious and a delightful experience as it used to be. The two of us shared a salad and the Suprema pie. Oh my! The ingredients are top notch and the dough is as good as it gets. This is a pizza Italy would be proud of. Apparently the original owner sold to new owners and his old friends stopped coming in protest. The new owners, we were told, are a small family business who deserve our support. I’d hate to see a Mom and Pop with food as good as this not make it. On Wednesdays all bottles of wine are half price. If you are a wine drinker, it’s almost stupid not to order one. We shared a delicious zin from Rabble in Paso Robles. I hope others give B&B a try and discover what a gem it truly is.

    Our pizzas were okay. Very cool and not cooked enough in the middle. The zucchini chips (were out of zucchini fries) apparently come with no dipping sauce because (even though we were offered marinara and ranch) we were charged 1.00 each for them. Service was great but wouldn’t be back for the food.

    We went for Mother’s Day and had 6 kids with us. They were very accommodating, polite, and the food is delicious! It was great to see that the atmosphere worked well for family. Previously I’ve been for work lunches, and it’s a great atmosphere for that as well.

    Concept was good. The food was pretty good, but lacked the punch of flavor we were looking for. The center of the pizza was soggy and less than desirable for our personal preference.

    Upset they removed the ortolana from their menu without replacing it with a similar pizza. Tried the “build your own” and spent $25 trying to replace replicate the pizza with the limited vegetable available. $2 average per topping
