Barans is one of our favorite places to go in the South Bay. We end up here for every event. If friends/ family come to visit we have to bring them to Barans at least once. My only complaint is they are not open for dinner during the week! Otherwise I would eat here even more!

One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Fine dining without being pretentious. Every plate that came out was just right. The price point , ambience and service was 10/10. I will definitely be coming back.

Loved the way each selection was delivered individually and shared. Had the sashimi, peaches and tomato salad, blue crab spaghetti, and sea bass. Every dish exceeded expectations. Service was timed perfectly and extremely knowledgeable. Wine list was excellent as well. Loved our first time there.

The food was fabulous! Focaccia, peach/tomato salad, crab spaghetti were very enjoyable and the 1/2 fried chicken was amazing! Would likely not have considered the chicken but we ordered upon recommendation from the waiter and it was spectacular! Crispy light breading and the flavor and glaze were chef’s kiss, along with the pickled accents, yum! The crab spaghetti had an unique flavor profile that was citrusy and light and was most unexpected and very flavorful. The wine selection by the glass was good, but not outstanding. Dessert of cocoa crème brule was nothing spectacular and we will definitely try something different the next visit.

Food and the service were fantastic. Great selection of local beers and wines from around the world. One thing that really impressed me was the timing of the dishes. As soon as we were done with a dish another one would arrive. The staff do an amazing job of working as a team to provide service in a small space. They are both everywhere and nowhere at same time.

Born & raised in the South Bay and have had Baran's on my food bucket list ever since I realized it was tucked away in that little strip mall. Wow, what a gem of a restaurant. My wife and I celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary there and it was fantastic! We split quite a few dishes and sides and the flavors were up there with the best. We were actually waited on by an original Baran and she made it feel like we were in our neighbor's kitchen. Loved it!

Food is good, creative. Adam our server was awesome. Beware, they want you to leave the table after an hour and a half. Impossible with sharing plates and conversation.

This place is a hidden gem, I almost don’t want to write this review to keep it a secret. But the truth is, this is probably one of my favorite spots in SoCal. They keep the menu fresh, made with fresh ingredients, and everything is delicious. The ribeye is excellent, their homemade bread is always good, the burrata… nothing but good things to say about this place.

This is a small restaurant squeezing to many tables into a fairly small room. Food was OK but not particularly distinguished. Their main thing is to serve multiple small dishes for the table to share. Overall this is not a bad place but also nothing to recommend.

We had a reservation for later on a Tuesday. The place was completely full but despite that we were seated on time for our reservation. The staff was very on point with the perfect balance of popping up regularly without interrupting. Wines by the glass were delicious. Our dishes were paced beautifully with a dizzying (in the best way) array of flavors and textures. Every selection was a hit!!! The strawberry and toffee desserts were the perfect end to the evening. Will definitely be back soon 😍😋👍🏻

We were greeted immediately at the door by the host. The food was fabulous, and the service was excellent. It’s a very fun atmosphere, feels like you were at a local’s favorite place. The place is small, but the food is very creative.

Don’t judge this book by its cover. A Hermosa Beach small retail center is home to an amazing restaurant experience you might find in New York or San Francisco. Unique takes on traditional dishes. Awesome, unpretentious and humble service!

Consistently delicious! Always get the focaccia and was happy to see the burrata is back. Delicious green beans — packed with flavor. Gnocchi was solid as was the sea bass. The hot chocolate crème brûlée was the best I’ve ever had! A must order.

It was our 2nd time eating at Baran's 2239 and we had to repeat the amazing dishes from our first visit - housemade foccaccia, pasta with blue crab meat, and the Indian egg. We added a side of green beans with black beans and prosciutto - also delicious. Unfortunately, no room for dessert on this visit. The restaurant is casual and friendly but the service is spotless. Recommend eating family style - share all the dishes! Highly recommend their special breakfast burritos - they are not cheap but there's nothing like them!

This was a last minute reservation with open table, and BOY were we pleased!!! The owner, Jason, and his family welcomed we first timers like we were family he’d not seen in a while. The food was EXCEPTIONAL. Every morsel, one dish after another, and not a hesitation to instantly tell many people about this perfect meal. Can’t WAIT to return!
