Benvenuti and welcome to barleo in Linlithgow’s website. Set in the heart of Linlithgow’s high street and a short drive from Edinburgh, we cater for all types of diners in our restaurant. Be it from a coffee with a snack and business lunches to intimate candlelit dinners and family gatherings, we will always endeavour to accommodate you and your guests, whatever the occasion.                     Visited here last night (Wednesday) with friends. We booked a table before hand. Got a really nice table in a booth. The service was great and the waiters Were friendly, sociable and attentive. Food was fabulous. Best I’ve tasted in a while. Missed out on the desserts which look delicious but the portion sizes of the main courses filled us up and we left with a doggy bag. We will certainly go back.

                    I absolutely love this Italian restaurant . The staff, food and ambiance are absolutely amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Can’t wait until our next visit 🇮🇹 👌

                    £3.50 for a tiny glass of Coke which wasn’t coke, an aldi 50p for 2 litres coke. Now if they’re using cheap as you can buy for drinks, I question the meal. Nobody finished their meal, my granddaughter hardly touched hers. It used to be a lovely place but like many they’ve put profit way beyond quality. Such a shame.

                    Weekday at dinner, quiet. Restaurant is neatly decorated and has a soft atmosphere, giving a sophisticated feel. Food was really good, veal was soft and tasteful served in a lemon based sauce as you might find in Italy. Restaurant also serves wine from reputable winemakers, and staff is knowledgeable about what they are serving. For dessert the tiramisu was excellent (noticeably handmade) despite not exactly following Italian tradition. Staff was very friendly, prices were within norm. Overall a pleasant experience and will be returning.

                    I love Bar Leo. It had been a while since my husband and I had dined here but wow, still amazing food and such a nicely decorated restaurant. I really like the layout and the thoughtful touches to enhance the atmosphere and overall feel of the place. I really like that the manager/owner come to speak to customers, this really does make all the difference. Staff - the lady who greeted us upon arrival was so friendly, kind and professional. As mentioned, we really appreciated the manager or owner coming to speak to us and it was lovely to see the rapport he had with other guests and their children. The waiter who served us was not as friendly but maybe he was new to the restaurant or industry. Food came out quickly but not so we felt rushed. We shared the bruschetta which is by far the best I have ever tasted. My husband had the carnivore pizza which was lovely. I had the prawn and salmon pasta which was absolutely delicious!!!!! It is a dish to put a smile on your face and savour every bite. My 4 year old really enjoyed the garlic bread, chicken goujons and chips and of course the ice cream. It was my husband and I’s 13th wedding anniversary and usually we have a day or night out child-free. We weren’t able to this year but on the way home from a day out with the kids, decided to see if there was a table available at Bar Leo. We’re so glad we booked. Being with a 4 year old and a 10 month old, we didn’t really manage to speak to each other much but I can honestly say, it was still such a nice family meal out. It made a different being seated near the door too so there was space and we weren’t in the louder area (and also away from where our kids might have disrupted people). Two days on, I’m still thinking about the meal. Can’t wait to go back.

                    Lovely waitress, but the waitor had an embarrassingly high opinion of himself. Arrogant and superior to his customers. Food was as expected, you can't really mess up Pizza/Pasta, however it came out within minutes of ordering so I doubt it was very fresh. Dont pass throught his town very often, but surely there are better places to eat.
