   It was early and quiet… service was bare minimum once we were seated. We ordered, food was slow (and I’m patient, and it’s a nice view, but it was 45 minutes from the time we sat to get our breakfast). My first shaksuka was served raw. And I’m not talking “oh my egg is a bit runny” I mean clear watery egg that had not been cooked. The sauce was amazing and all it needed was a few minutes in an oven. I had to go find my waitress after 10 mins of sitting with a raw egg. She said they’d make a new one and it would be “3-5 min” It took 25 minutes. And when it came out it was almost like the chef was annoyed at me - the sauce was severely over cooked and reduced to half of my original and I had a poached egg plopped on top. It looked awful. I would never serve that to a guest. I barely ate it because well, it was not great sauce like the first one and since it reduced so much it was bitter, and they never checked that it was good. And then they charged me for it. I was surprised but what are you going to do. So it was a $80 breakfast with a great view. Really disappointing and I’m assuming not the usual for Bar Julian.

   We waited 45 minutes and no one ever came to take our order. We flagged down the hostess who was going to find our waitress and she disappeared. We decided to get up and leave after an adjacent table was served. Too bad. We had an amazing meal a few weeks ago and we’re looking forward to our second visit. It was incredibly busy due to the nice weather but that’s not an excuse for such poor service.

   Fabulous brunch with beautiful views even though it was a cold and breezy day. Great service. All on the top of the cool Thompson Hotel. We live in Savannah and it’s one of our favorite spots.

   Did anyone notice that virtually the entire room was wearing a jacket. The room was cold…not cool. I live in Vermont! Host area was warm, dining area cold. Music is night club loud…at 11:45 am! Egg’s Benedict was tiny from the smallest of eggs to the tiny English Muffin and the maybe 1 oz total paper thin sliver of ham served on a cold plate with a dash of undressed greens. Taste was good but all around a disappointment. Could not discern alcohol in Bloody Mary.

   My husband and I absolutely loved coming here! We weren’t staying at the Thompson Hotel but we were interested in the views and menu… not disappointed at all. We stayed for hours, watched a thunderstorm roll in, and the bartender made some amazing drinks. Highly recommend

   Loved the vibe and atmosphere. Great food. We were a bit thrown off when we made a reservation for 8 almost two months prior to the date and then were sat in the lounge over a table. They should make this clear ahead of time. Otherwise, great experience and great food.

    Took our grandson there for brunch. Eggs Benedict excellent. And 3 different pizzas we ordered were really good. Stephen, the manager was most attentive. Place had a happy vibe about it.
