The Back Porch Grill and Tavern, founded in 2004, is a Grapevine institution. Throughout its history ‘The Porch’ has been a place for friends to meetup, drink, dance and enjoy great Texas food. Under the direction of Chef/GM Martin Gonzales, the menu has been remade to focus on Texas cuisine: brisket smoked twelve hours onsite, bourbon walnut chicken and feta-stuffed tilapia. You can still find plate-sized pork chops and chicken fried steaks but now everything is homemade: gravy’s, dipping sauces and especially the house salsa. It’s the same, yet different: try a juicy, hand-made half-pound Porch Burger and a cup of their roasted jalapeno soup for lunch one day. Stop in for hosted daily WPT poker tournaments, hang-out for Buzztime™ trivia or just sit back and enjoy a game on one of our eight big screen televisions. After all, once you walk inside you’ll be treated like an old friend and as we say: “Friends are family and family is always welcome on the Back Porch”.

I was surprised this restaurant was on Open Table. It was a very casual tavern. The entrainment was great, but a little loud. We will go back. Great place to get friends together.

The service SUCKS! After receiving a confirmed reservation for a table for 4 we make the trek from Dallas to Back Porch only to be told at the door that we had only reserved for 2. I provided the confirmation email but was told sorry but we can only sit two of the four in your party. Seriously? This place is a joke, and then come to find out I was informed by a friend who was there, that there were plenty of seats available. I will not go to this place and will be sure to tell everyone I can about how crappy this place is and how sorry their service is!

The menu online is not the correct menu. We went for catfish and that is not served. It's more like bar food only, very casual. Staff was very friendly, they were laid back and welcoming.

Had a group of 4 and can say that we had a wonderful evening! The entire staff is awesome and they go above and beyond. The location is around 30 minutes from my home and I will make the drive every time!
