Our server Tim was great! Very welcoming and customer service oriented
My cod special was very good, and everyone else got the chicken parm which was excellent. We will go to Bacio again.
The food at Bacio is very good! The small charcuterie plate was way more than we could eat. I loved the eggplant parm and my husband loved his ravioli. Our dessert arrived still frozen. Our server was new and was a little slow, however, the rest of the staff really seemed on top of everything!
The food was good and reasonably priced but the service was poor. First, when I asked, the server told us the special entrees were priced between $24 and $26. The veal chop I ordered, which was quite good and huge, was $28.99 (and by the way, was worth the price but the server should have known that and told us). Second, they brought my friend the wrong salad. When we mentioned this the server said she would take it off the bill. Then she came back with a menu in hand and said it was the right salad) ( it wasn't). A few minutes later another server came over with the correct salad which we decided to take with us as we just wanted our entrees and I had long since finished my salad. And, they did charge us for the salad. We didn't argue, we paid the bill and left. These are mistakes you expect from an untrained staff from a restaurant which has just opened. Too bad, the veal entrees were well prepared.
There were 3 in our party and we ordered appetizers, dinners and one shared dessert. One of us ordered the Branzino, which came whole (including head and tail - (waiter offered to have head removed before serving) and it was prepared simply and well - despite the work involved to debone it - but the olive and celery accompaniment was too strong for this dish. The other two ordered scallops with pasta and shrimp scampi. The shrimp scampi came with spagetti and red sauce, which didn't really go well with the scampi sauce. The bread served at the table was stale. When the water carafe at our table was empty the waiter removed it and never returned it with more water. We asked for more water but never got it. We shared a dessert, which was something that could have been bought in the frozen dessert section of a grocery store. We had two waiters vying for our table, which was disconcerting. The first one came to tell us about the night's specials, then the other guy came to tell us the same specials. First waiter took the order, then the second waiter came with the bread, etc etc. We only needed one waiter, thank you. In general, the food is good but not great; portions are large. The decor is pleasant (table cloths, cloth napkins, fresh flower in small vase on each table) but minimal decoration on the black walls. We appreciated that this restaurant is BYOB. We would recommend the restaurant and will return for another meal. For us, it is more of a casual dining spot rather than a special occasion restaurant.
Alice , Thank you for your 3 star review. We are glad to be your go to place for casual dinning. I would never say we where a Four Seasons or Ritz. Thank you for recommending us to your friends. The whole fish is kosher. which must have the head and tail. You order the frozen gelato Ice cream. yes Ice cream can be bought in stores. May I suggest next time try my families Ricotta Pie or any of our in house desserts. Once again thank you for being a great customer. Jay Saponaro Bacio
My last review of Bacio was not good. So they contacted me and invited me back. They did not know that I was the reviewer when I sat down for dinner. I was critical of the waitress on my last visit. The waiter we had on this trip was attentive, informative and friendly. You could tell he was working hard to do a good job. The food was good. We had salads to start. My date had a Cesar salad ( a little heavy on the dressing but good flavor), and I had the grilled romaine. As an entree we went with the chicken parm and the "Ocean" seafood plate. Both had good flavor and were plentiful. Chicken Parm is always a good barometer on the overall food in an Italian restaurant. It was a pleasant experience for a comfortable neighborhood BYOB. We will go back. So thanks for getting us to try it again. We had been fans of Bacio when it was in Mt Airy !
My best friend and I celebrated her birthday there. Really large portion of food. I ordered
beet salad, it was wonderful. The Cod was voluminous along with spaghetti. Our waiter
Jerry was attentive and friendly. My friend
enjoyed an “awesomely” crab cake. This was
my fourth visit here.🦋🦋
Always great food and service...been here many times and keep bringing new people. My only complaint is the noise level...Saturday nights, you can hardly hear yourself think, let alone talk. Would be great if they would carpet the floors and put in sound proof ceilings. Will definitely come back, but only during the week!
Thank you for the 5 star review. We will always try our hardest to earn your rating. good news about the noise we have open a quite room and soon the bar will be for moderate sound. just ask to be seated in the quite room. Thank you Bacio
The flavors in the food was excellent! portions were healthy.
Bacio is a good mix of Italian dishes, including lots of non-meat options. Jay is the owner & is in the kitchen, and his wait staff is funny, honest, helpful, and quick.
Had a delicious dinner for two. Service staff addressed all special requests as well as delivering excellent service. Branzino and cod fish two excellent choices. Portions large making it impossible to enjoy one of their delicious desserts enjoyed on a prior visit. The owner greeted and thanked the “guests” at various tables. A very nice touch. Looking forward to returning to Bacio as the menu is varied and there are many other selections yet to try. Wishing Bacio continued success in their new location.
Great meal and wonderful hospitality!
Great times.... you aways make our dinning room shine. We are aways so happy to server you.
Our Veal Piccata was great as well as the very different roasted romaine lettuce. Our server (James) was terrific.
My girlfriend and I love this place. We have been fans for years, since we first went to the site in Mt. Airy. The food is great and the staff is always fantastic. They treat us like old friends every time we walk in the door.
Really appreciate personal attention by owner (Jay) and server (Tim). Adds a homey touch to the superb food. My favorites: mussels in fra diavolo sauce, spaghetti with meatballs (like Jay's mother used to make), fresh pasta with the mussel fra diavola sauce, etc.
Larry, we at Bacio are aways happy when you and your guest come to dine, you have been our most loyal repeat guest for over 13 years. you Truly part of Bacio's la famiglia
Loved the beet salad and lasagna. Table was ready for us at the reserved time. Portion sizes were very large and everything was perfect. Parking lot is a bit small, so try to come early. Not just a local hangout, but a destination restaurant well worth the trip.
It is so nice when are our hard work bring the joy to the table. thank you for the 5 stare review.
It's a nice neighborhood restaurant. Took a few minutes before someone, a waiter saw us waiting to be greeted. Service was slow....appeared that there weren't enough servers for a Saturday nite crowd. Waitress made a few comments to let us know that service was slow due to the other waiter....wasn't necessary her fault that we were still waiting for things.....We didn't like that attitude....
First and foremost, this is my first review, but after experiencing another wonderful dinner at Bacio, I had to write one. Where should I start. Well, for one , I'm one of those Vegan freaks, lol, and my partner is not and Bacio always seems to accommodate us both with delicious dishes. We highly recommend the Veal Chops and the Vegan Ravioli . And finally, I'd like to say thank you to the staff and owner Jay for always treating us like family, even when they get crowded. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT .
We are relatively new to this restaurant, but we have already introduced it to others. The pasta with white clam sauce is the best I have ever tasted. My husband loves their spaghetti and meatballs. Always enough leftovers for another dinner. We highly recommend it.
thank you for enjoying and sharing your kind feelings.
Regular customer. Always have great food and service at BACIO. We’ve never been disappointed. Highly recommend.
Excellent food, service and ambiance!! Feels like home. Everyone who works there is very nice!
Whatever you order it will be delicious!!
Excellent food and a BYO
We might go back. We shared the Calimari, which was nicely cooked and had a very good sauce. Then we shared a Caesar salad, which had a tasty dressing but lacked crispness. I had Putanesca, which was very good, and my wife had Papardelli with Mushrooms that was so pasty from overcooked pasta that you could hang wallpaper with it. Portions are large. Noise level is so high my wife had to text me from across the table. Could be a great spot, but needs some improvement. Prices were reasonable.
Thank you, for taking the time to reviewing us. We used reviews as a good guide as to how our staff are working. Please accept a gift certificate as a make up gift. All our food is made in-house and fresh to order. Some times a dish may not be to your liking, We ask that you tell your server at the table. We could have easily fixed your Pappardelle dish. Also we have two other dinning rooms that are for people who want quiet. Please ask ahead for the quiet room. Jay Saponaro owner
My new favorite restaurant! The food was great. the service was terrific. They really care.
This is my first time in the new location. First the directions on open table were wrong. Guess they have a bad address for gps. Second it was just weird as far as ambience is concerned. The original was a homey place with an open kitchen and you felt like you were in somebody’s dining room. This location had black walls, you walk in to a deserted bar area. No hostess or greater on a Saturday night prime time. Our waitress made us feel we were keeping her there. She seemed old and tired. Did a mediocre job of introducing the specials and explaining things. The food is generally good and the best part of the experience but yet it was just off a bit.
Always very accommodating!
Food was great. Highly recommend the scrungilli salad. Tender pieces with a light lemon vinaigrette, mixed with spring greens, celery, scallions, etc. Sister had the lasagna. Lots of meat and delicious. I had the Ocean Seafood? With linguine, lots of mussels, clams, scrungilli, crabmeat, shrimp, in a garlic, white wine sauce. Excellent. Always have a great meal at Bacio. The one downside was the service. We had a young man who obviously was new to the trade. He recited, very quickly, the specials without much explanation. Each time at the table it felt hurried. Forgot to get us silverware and parmesan cheese. Would drop off food and leave. And not just him. Another younger food runner just dropped off desserts without even asking or giving us addition silverware. I get it. I've waited tables, at even some finer restaurants at the Jersey shore. They need more coaching and to learn to take their time. Not make the customer feel like they need to be rushed out. Enjoy talking to the customers. It's a discussion, not reciting a script. Make them feel welcome and look them in the eye when speaking. The food was great as always. The servers (some of them) are a little green. Besides that, good dinner.
Our second time at Bacio and we were just as delighted at the food and service as the first time. This restaurant will be a regular for us from now on.
Thank you, five stars is very nice. We are glad you had a Bacio Time.
Unfortunately the food was average. The seafood pasta dish came with overcooked pasta and the veal marsala was very tough. I would love to have this restaurant be excellent as it could be a local gem. The service and the ambiance were terrific. SO IF they can get the cooking right it could easily be 5 Star. I'll give it another try so fingers are crossed.
Paul the next time you come in can you please ask for me, Jay Saponaro, owner. I will personally insure no fingers cross quality on me. Thank you for taking the time to write your review, we'll use this to make all correction.
Real authentic Italian food. My coworker recommended I stopped by and I’m glad I did because now I have local bar and great food.
Thank you, Michael. you have great taste.
Quaint little restaurant. I prefer weeknights rather than weekends because I can get a bit crowded. Tim the waiter is excellent and the food is outstanding
Thank you , Tony for the great review. If you want we have a smaller room on weekends that only has 3 tables anyone can ask to be seated there.
Bacio was a wonderful place to celebrate our anniversary. Tim was a perfect host and server. The food was fresh and delicious. We were very happy with our experience.
Thank you for the kind review. It is truly a great day when we make your celebration perfect.
The menu sounded great. I had the veal chop which was great tasting but way undercooked by the bone. For$28 I should have been able to eat the whole thing especially since no side came with the meal. My husband got the stuffed fish - the crab was cold in the center! My daughter got the lobster ravioli which was hot and she enjoyed. We won’t be going back
Very friendly and comfortable ambience. The food is tasty and generous. I would recommend for spontaneous "let's go out tonight" and for special occasions and small groups (5-8). Very interesting bar and wine choices.
Used to go to old location and loved it. White wine was served warm, food was undercooked. The pasta used to melt in your mouth and now just taste like box pasta. Sadly will never go back. The food wasn’t good at all.
So sorry you had a bad time. Can you please tell me what you order. We use reviews as a learning tool. also who was your server? Please call us for a gift certificate I am sure if you give us another try we can match our old location standers. I'm not sure what pasta you had however, all our receipts are the same. Homemade pasta for the ravioli, lasagna, gnocchi and Papadelli. Box Pasta for seafood and spaghetti. This is very upsetting please contact me Jay the owner 215-248-2740.
Tim is a one man show. great personality and really knows his food. We will definitely come back for another round.
We always have a great experience at Bacio.
The owner and staff went out of their way to make our experience very pleasant, and we will be hppy to go back again. Their new location is quieter and the parking is easer to use too.
This was our first visit to Bacio and we were pleasantly surprised. There was a large parking lot on the side and behind the restaurant. Our server worked the entire room alone and was so efficient and pleasant. The food was excellent. My pasta dish had a large number of chopped and whole clams. We were impressed and intend to return with friends.
