We love this place, we have a great meal every time we go.
The food was delicious! Our waiter was good. The only slight issue was that my side dishes came a little late, but were hot and well prepared. I would recommend this BYOB restaurant.
Lovely addition to our neighborhood, this Italian restaurant has delicious fresh tasting entrees, with a variety to chose from, great service and a cozy, warm setting makes this a great place to come again & again.
Another very nice dinner on a Friday night at a lovely BYOB.
Arrived and were promptly seated. Water in the glasses and bread an oil on the table were immediate, just the way they should be. Wine glasses were provided and we were having a sip of wine before we looked at the menu - all very good.
The waiter, Tim, knew the menu inside and out - and yes, they had the bone-in veal chop as an option. From off the menu, Tim provided the "whole ocean" option for my dining companion.
We split the Eggplant Rollatini to start, followed by the main courses which both had excellent flavors.
Dessert was a light and fluffy Tiramisu.
Very good all around.
Very nice people. clean place, awesome food. Good bread too.
Although there were only three other parties in the restaurant, we were left standing at the door when we arrived. The bus boy showed us to a table and neglected to ask if we wanted drinks. Actually, the server forgot, too, and we had to ask. The white wine was not chilled, the mussels appetizer was overcooked and chewy; the chicken marsala had a lovely texture, but the sauce was overbearingly sweet; and the veal was like shoe leather. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play? Needless to say, our first time was our last time. We won't be back.
Once again we had a wonderful meal. I had trout, my wife had egg plant parm. Both were delicious. The other couple had a special dinner and cheese lasagna. First course's were mussles, and a salad. Desert included the best cheese cake in the world.
The special salad was an arugula salad with cheese, cracked pepper and olive oil, it was overpriced. The veal dish that my husband has was too salty. The calamari was not seasoned enough. The crab fra diablo was overly spicy even though I asked the waiter if it could be less spicy.
It was the third time I have been to the new location and 2 of those experiences have been awful. The service was bad, food disappointing to bad. I won't go back and I recommend you spend your money elsewhere. Too many good BYOB's in the area to ever go back.
Sharon, Thank you for our phone call. I appreciate you thanking me, for looking into your situation personally. As the owner, I'm not proud of anyone being less than happy at Bacio. Your concerns seem to be of taste. As far as service your party left a 20% tip which means great service. Your party where seated at 7:45 and paid your check at 8:59 that is great service. We removed the Brozino from your bill, we server 30 lbs a week to many repeat customers. Your one star is very baffling.
I have been wanting to try Bacio for some time now and I was so happy that I did. Food was amazing, will definitely be back!
Thank you, we worked very hard to earn your 5 star review. So happy... that you understand great made to order fresh ingredients.
Good service. Loved the beets and the arugula salad. Enjoyed the Marsala. Love the byob!
Thank you for taking the time to write such a great review. We work hard to make only the best hand order dishes. We use reviews such as yours to train and motivate our staff.
Food was excellent, as expected. The rock fish special was excellent, and the chef was able to accommodate a dairy allergy with no problem.
Service was surprising. The waiter was fairly rude at first, but seemed to realize it and became extremely accommodating and friendly mid-way through the meal.
Thank you for taking the time to write a great review . I appreciate your honest reaction to service. We will correct you concerns.
Local gem. Attentive staff. Food a little slow coming out of the kitchen, but we were in no hurry. As everything made to order this was not a surprise. 2 of the members of our party got Meatballs & Spaghetti. One plate was artfully arranged with a bit too much tomato sauce. The other was arranged haphazardly with not quite enough sauce. Everything was delicious with the exception of the Ceasar Salad being overly generous as to garlic. We will go back. Just won't order the Caesar Salad.
Thank malarian, for the kind 5star review. We used reviews to train our staff. As you can tell all our dishes are made to order which means not the same look every time. Please feel free to order the Caesar salad with out garlic. We want you to have it to your liking. Once again, thank you for liking us.
Always great food ! Great people,
Good location, free parking
Thank you Helaiane, You are very nice to have taken the time to write a 5star review. Our staff works very hard to insure your happiness and like to be appreciated.
The food is usually always excellent, The grilled romaine salad was not up to par, seemed over cooked & was served with Balsamic vinegar rather then the usual dressing. A bit to salty.
Our main entrees were fine, only complaint was how long it took to be served considering the restaurant
was not busy at all.
Yvette you have been a long and devoted customer. Please accept a gift certificate as our sincere apologies. So sorry your Salad was not up to par. However, that salad is now only offered as a special. Tim your waiter should have told you that the we did not have the ingredients to make it as you remember it. The Bronzino you order is grilled on a low slow heat, this takes time no matter how many people are seated. Once again thank you for being great fans of Bacio we value your review.
This is the second time we have eaten at Bacio. We had a great experience the first time, but tonight was very disappointing. We only saw our waiter when we first arrived, and we waited an amazingly long time to receive our appetizers. Unfortunately, that was better than our entrees. We were a party of 6, and 2 people received their food, and then we waited fifteen minutes for 2 more dishes to appear. One additional dish appeared 10 minutes later, and the last was forgotten (as was the appetizer for the same person). When we finally found someone so we could alert them to the problems we were experiencing, no apology was given. We love supporting small businesses and restaurants but we have to advise you to avoid this one at all costs.
as the owner of Bacio what you described is very unsettling. Checking with my staff I must apologies for bad service . Would you accepted a gift certificate as a request in trusting us one more time? As you said The first visit was great. I can assure you that it was an unfortunate situation and my staff will never make the combination of errors again. We have very high reviews mostly because of learnt lessons of reviews such as yours Please accept my apology we truly want to make it up
A very enjoyable experience! Nice ambiance and good food!
Thank you for taking the time in giving Bacio a great review
We were a group of 6 and all really enjoyed their food and our server, Tim, was just amazing.
Thank you for taking the time in giving Bacio a great review
We enjoyed our first time at Bacio. The food was delicious, service good and overall very accommodating to our requests. We will definitely be going back and look forward to enjoying this restaurant in our neighborhood.
Thank you for taking the time in giving Bacio a great review. We are very happy to be your neighbor.
Chef/Owner serves up unique and flavorful Italian cooking.
Just wish I could have an espresso to go with the homemade dessert.
It was so loud we could not wait to get out of there. The food was good, the service slow (and painful because of the noise level). We love it there, but will never go back on a weekend night.
Dear Sepalip, Please feel free to come on a Saturday night. My staff should have offer you the quite room away from the main dinning room. Please email us at baciomenu@gmail for an gift certificate of apology.
*When asked where I’d like to take someone special for their surprise birthday dinner .. no question ;) Bacio !*
•Good friends and good times. •Huge portion sizes and low cost for this byob restaurant in the near suburbs. •Once upon a time , this ITALIAN eatery was running out of Mt.Airy. •No thought to distance when the food is perfecto! Mangia! We love the food and the owner., Famiglia!
We were very pleased with the food and service. Three out of the four of had the cod, which was the special that night. The other had the mushroom pappardelle. Everything was delicious.
Nicely decorated little BYOB Italian restaurant in Flourtown. Large portions. Delicious. A great deal.
Bacio was a great restaurant and we loved eating there when located in Mt. Airy PA. Recent dinner at the Erdenheim location was disappointing. The food was not up to same expectations, the red sauce was too sweet. the eggplant looked like it had sat on the hot table for an hour before serving. The table guests were served the entrees individually instead of as a group and the restaurant wasn't all that crowded.
The gnoccohi were served luke warm and when asked to be reheated - came back only a few degrees warmer. The Pop Pop Lasagna was a mess of stuff on the plate.
Sorry but wouldn't come back soon.
Dear Ms. Nangle. It is most upsetting to us at Bacio that we failed you. I am sadden on how badly you where treated. Please know it is reviews such as yours that we use to train the staff. I have been out of work for the last week due to medical issues. Please accepted my most sincere apology to you and your guest. I have worked as you know for over 15 years making the best home made Italian food.. It saddens me that after all the many good meals we made, you will not trust us anymore.
I had the good fortune to visit Bacio recently with 3 friends. Sooo glad we were able to enjoy a FABULOUS meal in a calm , quiet atmosphere without venturing into Center City. The atmosphere was as though you were enjoying your meal amongst family , but without the crazy boisterous uncle! Sebastian, our waiter was very knowledgeable and efficient. We began our our meal with a luscious antipasto tray complete with beets, cheeses, roasted peppers etc. and also dined on a tasty salad comprised of figs, cheese and a balsamic reduction. Our entrees looked so enticing ... we ended up sharing Tre Funghi Papparadelle, Veal Parm, and Sweet Potato Gnocchi and we were glad we did. A taste of everything, because the portions were enough to share and take a bit home. The “ icing on the cake” came in the form of two delicious desserts... both chocolate based , one decadent and thick and the other a lighter chocolate cheesecake. More than satisfying to all of our palettes!!! Our evening ended with Jay coming out to greet us and express his appreciation for us stopping in. WE were happy and satisfied that we did. We look forward to returning.!!!
Thank you LeslieB, you are too kind. We are happy you enjoyed your stay with Bacio.
We had a lovely evening with excellent food and prompt service. We did not feel rushed. We had asked for a quiet table and were very pleased with the “back” room where we were seated.
Definitely a good choice, and we would absolutely return when we are in that neighborhood.
Thank you AronD, your kind 4 star review means our many long hours of cooking great food is appreciated . Thanks Again Jay
Family run small restaurant with good food and service. BYOB
Thank you RaoN, We really love cooking for you.
This is the first time we have tried Bacio since they moved from Mt Airy. A nice place, but somehow it doesn't work after the move. Food was meh. Menu sounds interesting - similar to the menu at Fiorino's - but there is no comparison in the actual product. To start with: the olive oil served with the bread was quite mediocre and flavorless. The branzino was dry and overcooked. The cauliflower served alongside was just bad. Such a disappointment.
Thank you Barbara for taking the time to review Bacio, I do remember you from our old location. I am surprise you did not mention our Fig Salad it is our hit of the fall season. Our 15 year old menu is a typical Italian America which is about five years before Florino's open. We used reviews such as yours to make improvements. Please email us at email@example.com to give you a gift certificate or a refund. We work hard to create great dishes and we are not happy we failed you.
My scallops arrived barely warm, which was disappointing. Did not like the sausage with the scallops. My husband's dish was hot and delicious
Thank you Alison for your review we will used your feed back at our next meeting. You are right about the sausage our new chef was misinformed on it's size and shape. please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for a replacement gift certificate . once again thank you for caring in reviewing bacio. Jay Saponaro, Owner
Good but not very good food. Had the veal chop again and it wasn’t quite as awesome as the last time. Had the eggplant rollatini also and that was excellent. Heard my dining partners all enjoy their dishes too.
Service was attentive but the food was slow coming out of the kitchen.
Pleasant atmosphere and comfortable setting. Noisy but not terrible considering it was Saturday evening and the place was pretty full.
It’s still a BYOB which makes it easy to enjoy favorite beverages. They do have some beer and wine if you want it.
George, Thank you for your review . Our veal Chop is quite famous. I know why it was not as awesome this time and will have the issue corrected, you can rest assured the next time you are in it will be prepared the right way. It is my policy to offer a gift certificate to less than satisfied customers please Email: baciomenu@gmail
We brought friends who had a bad experience the first time that they visited. This time, they enjoyed the food and the service. The fig salad was fresh and filled with flavor. Our entrees were very good. And our friends said that they would return.
Thank you for the great review and for bring your friends back. Next time you are in tell the waiter... jay said free dessert for the table. Once again thank you, Jay Saponaro
I have been to Bacio many times including when it was in West Mt. Airy and have always been more than pleased with this restaurant. This visit I was with 5 friends and everyone raved about the food as well as the entire experience. I will return.
Thank you, Carol R, We appreciate you as a loyal Bacio fan. We will aways work hard shopping , prepping, cooking and serving our Bacio guest. once again thank you for taking the time to reviewing Bacio Jay
My meal was undercooked and not good. My husband had an amazing dinner though. I will try again.
can you please tell us what you order? We used reviews to train our staff. I am so glad your husband had a wonderful meal. We would be happy to offer you a gift certificate to for you. Email us at email@example.com
My sister was visiting from Florida and so we came in with the family for a nice dinner the night before Thanksgiving. We love that it’s BYOB, and the amount of food you get for the price is a great value. We recommend the mussels, clams & sausage app - delicious!
Thank you for your kind review. I am the owner of bacio, my nay is Jay saponaro. I have been working with out a day off and no vacation for the last 3 years. Running a small business is very hard in this we want it now internet times. Your 5 star review means the world to me thank you.
Tim, often our waiter always makes it nice.
Everything was fine with the acception of our dinning friends.
It took them 30 minutes to decide what to order, very embarrassing .
Brusque waiter. Very short with me when we arrived. Rushed us to order. My sweet potato gnocchi were mush. I wanted to like this place because I live in the neighborhood and have given it several tries.
Jellyotter, I check with the chef and we do agree with you, the prep chef did not put enough egg in our homemade gnocchi. I am glad your table of 7 guest all enjoyed their meals. I am also, thankful that you left Tim your server a 22% tip. that was too kind for your satiation of service. It just shows how nice you are. I truly hope we can work out a solution. Jay saponaro Owner and also a your neighbor.
Unfortunately, we never got the chance to eat at Bacio because upon arrival, we were told by a staff member that there had been a fire in the kitchen and we ere turned away.
I am very upset our most unexpected tragedy had such a negative impact. I have your email and will be sending a gift certificate, Please accept our apologies and come back soon. I am sure you will be very happy with our vegan menu. Remember when you make your reservation to note, you are vegan, as I can make a vegan cannoli. Once again so sorry Jay Saponaro owner
Always enjoy the food. Generous portions and served hot. Parking is a little tough, but there is an additional lot across the street. If using a GPS, remember to put in Erdenheim and not Flourtown.
Thank you, We really work very hard buying preparing & cooking nothing but the freshest tastes food. thank you for the information regarding GPS, I try to tell people to used zip code 19038. Also, our parking usual is ample. Sometimes a large group will come in singe cars. We also have street parking on Bethlehem pike.
