A.O.C is a small plates restaurant driven by seasonal ingredients, locally sourced. Our California French cuisine was developed by Chef Suzanne Goin, and has some Mediterranean influences as well. The food was really wonderful! I've had dinner there many times but never lunch. Can't wait to go back. We shared the clams, grilled cheese and sliced steak. I can't pick a favorite. Sat in the bar area and not the room to the left of the lobby. I was a little uncomfortable with the banquet. I was sitting very low. I should have switched with my friend on the chair. My bad.

Not what we expected from AOC! Service was lackluster with a server who was not on top of her game. Blah is a good definition! And the food did not come out for all 3 of us at the same time! My daughter commented that the chicken salad I ordered for $25 was akin to a salad from Trader Joe’s for $6.99 and I agree. Rather tasteless! Her chicken and waffles were OK but without sauces was so bland! She left her half eaten order in my car as she decided not to take the leftovers home. My partners burger looked liked the real deal but due to the blasé service and ambiance was not even interesting for her! Overall, a sad experience for a $134 brunch! And that sums up what was my birthday brunch!

Always a great meal at AOC, super unique flavors with everything cooked to perfection, and all the staff are so kind. They even brought a treat for my birthday. Looking forward to eating here again!

The evening was fantastic. The food and ambiance were exceptional. Our server, Nicco, was knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. Did I mention delightful? All in all, A.O.C. is tops.

We had a late reservation after a Saturday night concert so were the only ones in the restaurant after the first 45 minutes. The staff never made us feel in the least bit rushed; quite the contrary. Food was delicious and interestingly prepared; if there is any complaint, it is that our server suggested we order one more thing (when we asked), and that was too much food. (We took it home and have enjoyed it since.)

Well, listen - I love AOC, have loved it for years. And while I miss the old set up/space layout that this location offered when it was Tavern, the AOC team has the menu nailed. We shared all sorts of dishes at the table, the Spanish fried chicken (think highly gourmet chicken nuggets) was delicious. The polenta and vegetables was a beautiful fall selection. The rooms feel crowded, and the staff seems overwhelmed. While every server was very friendly, the pace seemed erratic - and a bit rushed while they waited us to make a decision on our order. I would still go back, but I hope the service levels improve. Perhaps it's a matter of still recovering from Pandemic times and the strike...hoping for better times ahead.

My food was mostly terrific. I only gave 4 stars but it is partly because my partner ordered the SPANISH FRIED CHICKEN and thought it was too breaded. I liked it. My halibut was very good but the carrots were too over roasted for me. Salad with pears was excellent, as was the pumpkin cheesecake. We really like this restaurant and plan to go back.

I prefer the West Hollywood location, except for the location. Which I guess means, I prefer Brentwood! If you are looking for a beautiful spot for a delicious dinner in the Brentwood area, you cannot go wrong here.

Nice atmosphere and good food BUT the pricing is outrageous for the portion sizes. Add to that $50 corkage, highly inflated drink and wine list and a 5% additional service charge all before sales tax. There are a lot better restaurants (that don’t price gouge) right across the street in Brentwood.

Menu and food was very tasty and creative. Spices were well balanced and loved it. Halibut tasted subtly fishy. I just don’t think the price was justified by the taste and portions. Nothing wrong with the food though.

Fantastic server (he actually got the food to the table at the correct time, not piling course up or leaving without food for long periods of time - perfect), The food was excellent (especially considering it was a DineLA menu) and ample portions. I'm already planning a trip back.

Brunch at aoc is an experience. My 4 friends and I took our time with it and enjoyed every bite...especially the brisket hash, baked eggs, French toast (!), and sticky bun (!!!). Will return soon with another batch of friends.

Food was great, really enjoyed it. Service was terrible!! Waited almost 20 minutes upon arrival to have our order be taken and we showed up right when the restaurant opened. Our server came out only once to check up on us once our food arrived. Ordered more coffee and another cocktail and they were never brought out. After our meal we waited 30-40 minutes for boxes and for our bill. I wouldn’t recommend the place if the service is always like that. We were disappointed. We left without getting our last cocktail brought out they were taking too long.

AOC has always been a favorite of ours since it’s first incarnation on 3rd St in West Hollywood, so my husband and I were surprised how different the experience was when we went for a DineLA dinner at the Brentwood location on Saturday night. The restaurant was moderately busy, and our initial server greeting was very nice, but things went downhill from there. The famous AOC wine list was lacking – only dry and light wines, so we defaulted to a very ordinary Sangria. Our server was not paying attention at all and we waited ages to order food, and then to receive it. Our several dishes were meant to come out as they were ready, but all - appetizers and mains - came in a deluge, with the exception of a potato side that came when we were almost done with everything else. The AOC flavors were still there, but the dishes were clearly not put together with care. so the result was disappointing. We accidentally spilled a glass of water on the table and used our napkins to mop it up with. When asked, the busser brought us new napkins, but didn't offer to help clean up, and seemed to feel it was a nuisance when we asked him to take away the wet napkins we had cleaned up with. With much effort we attracted our server back for the bill, and left convinced that the restaurant was on its last legs. Sad to see such a legacy restaurant go downhill this way.

Cocktails were very good, we got the farmers plate and I was disappointed. I expect every dish to be amazing at this place and the starter was over priced and disappointing which turned me off to ordering anything more.

Delicious. Flavorful. Original. Inspiring. Incentive. Highly recommend. We got the Spanish fried chicken, the black rice with squid m, the focaccia with ham and sheep’s milk cheese and the bacon-wrapped dates. Everything was delicious and good portion sizes. Would order it all again.

We had heard good things about A.O.C. but were disappointed with our experience. We ordered the charcuterie plate to start and weren’t told it was served with 1 piece of bread. We were a group of 5 so we would have ordered more with a little guidance. Additionally, our waiter didn’t tell us that we’d need to order sides with our entrees or that they were served family style. We ended up getting individual plates of meat at different times with no sides at all with them. I ordered my streak medium and it came out rare. They recooked it but it was not plated well and was almost too salty to eat. Terrible experience.

I am appalled that Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne are charging their patrons for their employees' health benefits. They can well afford to pay their health insurance. Shame on them!!!!!

AOC has previously been a reliablely good restaurant for us. This visiting chef meal for the Jewish New Year was very uneven. Ricotta dumpling chicken soup was light and delicious. Our main course was mixed. The brisket was outstanding. the vegetarian main course - butternut squash with freekah was totally inedible-it was unbelievably salty (we had 2 servings of this at our table and both were inedible). There clearly must have been a mistake in the kitchen. It was extreme- not a question of taste. The freekah and the greens couldn't be tasted under the extreme salt. We told our waiter about the problem and he replaced one of the dishes,but by then the meal was ruined for us. It made one of our diners physically ill, from just a few bites (squat was ok so we tried to use the squat to temper the salt of the freekah. it helped but was still barely edible). Worst dish I've ever been served in a quality restaurant.The dessert cake was DRY and the almond ice cream with it had a lovely creaminess but was was over flavored- but edible in combination with the dry cake. We also were surprised that the wine we ordered, a finger lakes cabernet franc was dreadful. we've had this wine varietal from the finger lakes before elsewhere a few times, always very good. It surprised us that a restaurant like AOC would have such a terrible wine in their cellar. We expected a better curated wine selection

We’ve been fans of Chef Goin and sommelier Ms Styne ever since they opened up the first AOC on 3rd street. Chef Goin was instrumental in introducing SoCal to tapas and we learned so much from Miss Styne with interesting wines on the list, such as Portuguese whites. Bravo to them both for always providing superlative food and drink!!
