Italian
In October 2001, he opened his own restaurant, Angelini Osteria, in the heart of Los Angeles. Since its opening, Angelini Osteria has become known as simply everyone’s favorite Italian restaurant in Los Angeles, winning over the city with unassuming and authentic dishes in a warm, intimate setting. In late 2016, Gino opened Angelini Alimentari, an ode to the classic Italian coffee bar serving house-made gelato, espresso, and simple, fresh dishes. At Alimentari Gino Angelini launched his specialty food product line with the introduction of the Osteria’s signature pasta sauces. Throughout the years, Gino has won numerous honors for his culinary artistry, including the 2007 Artusi Award, the 2011 Galvanina Trophy for Best Chef of the Year, and the 2011 Sigismondo Malatesta d’Oro, the highest civilian award of his home city of Rimini. He is consistently praised by patrons and critics as “the best Italian chef in Los Angeles.”

Angelini Osteria is one of the great Italian restaurants of Los Angeles.

Ratings 8.0-8.5:The best way to think about restaurants in the low to mid 8′s is that these are the places you would absolutely go back to, anytime. The lemon pasta was amazing, so amazing in fact that my dinner date and I both ordered it to go as well, so that we could eat it the following day for lunch. The brunello was wonderful. Perfect meal!

Excellent atmosphere, food and service. One of the best pork chops I’ve ever had. Same for the lasagna. Good by the glass wine list, nice little complimentary starter, and excellent crisp bread for snacking. Can see why this spot is an LA classic.

A little pricey for lunch, but we liked what we had. Good looking crowd and the space has a nice Italian vibe. It’s a favorite among my friends. And street parking has never been a problem, although they valet.

Service was stunningly rude when it wasn't dispassionate, food came out overcooked or poorly presented, one of the worst meals I've ever had at this price point.

Always the best pasta, fish and antipasto. I also like their casual cafe next door which has added dishes from the main restaurant for take out or sitting on their very tranquil patio

The food as always was outstanding. But my appetizer was made incorrectly and although they redid it they didn’t adjust the timing of my main so all my food was on my very small table at the same time. I ordered the burrata and the waiter suggested the caprese salad instead and said he could put the prosciutto “on the side”. I later realized that was an up sell of $22. I wish I had been offered the full explanation.

Still great food, crazy crowded and loud.

I would have rated this place much higher but.. the food was good, the service by the waiting staff was even better. However, the place was miserably way to hot inside. To the point where we had to step outside to cool down. Not just us but more than a few tables. When we mentioned it to the waiter, more than a few times, we were told that’s how the manager likes it. Definitely won’t go back to his place, cause that’s the way we like it!

Been here twice now and the food, wine, and service have been excellent both times. Bit pricey, but well worth it. Be prepared, they charge 7$ for still water (there is no tap option), the seating is mildly cramped, and its loud.

The staff is amazing; they made all the difference and saved my experience from being ruined by a fellow patron, whom entered the small restaurant carelessly and knocked over two flutes of prosecco at my table. A waiter kindly cleaned our area and replaced our drinks...my hero.

Way too noisy. They should invest in some acoustic sound reduction. Good food and service but over priced.
The table next to the door should be avoided in the winter because every few minutes you get a blast of cold air. They should put a barrier there to block the wind. I wouldn't recommend it until they address ALL of those issues.
