   Must try! The place is absolutely beautiful, you almost feel like you are in a different country when dining there. The food is amazing and service was as well! Very authentic food and the price for what you are getting is great! The drinks were amazing as well, we went for the espresso martinis which have Arabic coffee in them. The cotton candy desert was fabulous. I highly recommend this place, wish I could give it higher then 5 stars becuase there are not too many places that check every box and this place does! After dinner on our way to get our car from valet we met the owner J. Extremely nice guy, offered us a drink and coffee before we left but we had to get to a play so couldn't take him up on the offer. But he told us about his vision and design and we will definitely be going back and hopefully can take him up on the offer and here more about his vision for the restaurant. Don't settle for the normal Baltimore staple restaurants! This is THE PLACE to go and you won't be disappointed!

   What a beautiful and elegant place and food that showcases the richness of the Syrian/Lebanese heritage. The flavors of every plate we ordered were delicate and outstanding and felt like home. Kudos to chef Alberto! We ended up getting a variety of small plates, one more delicious than the other (kebbe orfaliyeh, lahm bi ajine, hummus awarma, mutabal, sujuk rolls and chicken rolls as well as kibbe bil karaz and batata harra as main dish because we were stuffed and could not eat a whole entree) and please leave room for dessert (Shohbiyet and ashta). The service was impeccable, friendly and very attentive with everyone from the waiter to the manager to the owner making sure we were happy. The music was also great and made for a nice ambiance. The decor is modern with some beautiful and typical Syrian furniture. This place will quickly become out of reach so try it now. Best of luck Ammoora! We needed a place like this.

    The restaurant was decorated very nicely and the service was impeccable. The staff has a way of making you feel like you’re the only customer. The food was outstanding! We opted for overloading on mezze both hot and cold, soup and also the platter of spreads. They were all excellent! We were a large group so we finished with one of every dessert.

    We wanted to try a new restaurant and unfortunately the poor service ruined our experience. Our server wasn’t able to explain the menu, how/what to order, or even bring us water. The food we did order was very good. The owners came over to us and the other tables a few times each during our dining experience so I think they were aware of the poor service.

    The food was amazing. Currently looking for an excuse to go back to try others! The decor and design details are unmatched, even down to the bathroom (a telling feature, to me at least). Great spot.

    Unfortunately, I doubt this place will survive a year. Food is ridiculously overpriced. We were told that they recommend for 2 a soup or salad to share, 3 cold mezze, 3 warm mezze and one or two mains. This is because the dishes are very small. They are also extremely expensive. We had hummus with pita, a small bowl of mediocre soup, an eggplant mezze, a shrimp mezze (3 small fried shrimp). My husband had water and I had one non-alcoholic drink (priced almost as much as alcoholic cocktails. We were still hungry but tired of being gouged Bill for this- $94 for a few small apps and the 20% included tip. Rather than ordering the $55 short rib, we left and went to Tarks. Nothing was even very good. I’d recommend virtually any tapas restaurant in town over this and you can go two or 3 times for the same price as one meal here. I hope they read the reviews and step it up, but based upon the amount I guesstimate it took to open this restaurant, it isn’t likely.

    If you’re looking for a truly amazing dining experience in Baltimore, you must visit Ammoora! This new gem is everything Baltimore was missing and more. They serve delicious food, and the beautiful setting will transport you to another world. From the moment you step inside, you’ll be greeted with a beautiful, vibrant interior design and ambiance. The lounge/bar area is cozy yet lively and perfect for groups and mingling. The warm lighting, intricate tile work, and plush booths create a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The attention to detail is evident in every corner, from elegant table settings to authentic Syrian furniture. And then there’s the food. The menu is simply outstanding, with a range of traditional Levantine dishes that are bursting with flavor and color. Start your meal with some of the mouth-watering mezze dishes like the awarma hummus (absolutely incredible), za’atar honey burrata (such a unique twist on a dish you see on so many menus), and sujuk rolls. For the main course, the cauliflower shawarma is a must-try, the short rib mushroom freekeh literally melts in your mouth, and the samke harra is unlike any salmon. This is by far the new spot for any occasion. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner or a fun night out with friends, Ammoora has it all.

    Went to Ammoora for my husband’s birthday. The decor of the restaurant was beautiful, but it was quite noisy and, for a restaurant aspiring to be upscale, the tables were placed too close to each other. The food was decent .. some dishes like the ‘smashed batata hara and muhammmara” were lovely, but the vast majority were quite mediocre. The portion sizes were ridiculously small for the high prices, which was good in one way because we hate wasting food and smaller portions meant we were able to finish the mediocre dishes. The three worst parts of the experience were the 1. dessert, which was awful and practically inedible 2. the service which was painfully slow — our server was MIA for the vast majority of the meal and when she did show up, she looked absolutely flustered and rushed 3. pre-determined 20% gratuity for a party of 4 - it’s almost as if the restaurant knows their service is lousy and guests won’t leave a big tip for their wait staff. I mean, at the restaurant’s ridiculous prices, the tip alone was over $30 … and she maybe checked in on us twice, forgot to bring us any pita bread and then forgot to replenish the pita bread despite being asked twice … and took forever between courses. I guess if I am guaranteed a $30 tip, I wouldn’t be motivated to do a good job either .. 🤷‍♀️ All in all, the whole experience was unpleasant and wildly disappointing … would definitely not recommend to anyone else!! Two thumbs DOWN!!!!

    This restaurant has good potential. It is beautiful, and some of the food is outstanding. But service had a lot of kinks that shouldn’t come with fine dining: appetizers arriving before drinks, serving utensils missing, two of six desserts unavailable. If there are four guests, we should be served four pitas. I hope the kinks get ironed out because this place could be wonderful; it just isn’t yet.

    Sadly we had a bad experience. We got seated in the lounge area, which felt like sitting in a hotel lobby. Main restaurant hall is really nice, but was not offered or shown to us. When our mezzes came, waiter explained 3 out of four of them, and simply said I am new, I do not know what is fourth mezze. He did not show courtesy to go back check and let us know. After we were finished with mezze, di they bring pita bread. After being there for 90 min, we ordered dessert, and after waiting for about 30 min, nothing came, so we told waiter, if its not ready, ignore it and bring us the check. Minutes later waiter came with the check, without the dessert included in it. We gave him credit card. Few minutes later the owner Jay came with the dessert apologizing, we explained the whole thing to him. Soon after another waiter brought us another check with the dessert price included in it. We told him that our original waiter has already taken our credit card, to which he said he will void the bill he brought. Finally the waiter came with credit card receipt and my card for signature, there was only one receipt, no duplicate for my record. We left the place, next day I find that my credit card was overcharged by $50. I called the restaurant two days ago to look into it. I am yet to hear back from them. Definitely this is not the service one expects from a nice restaurant like Ammoora, which desires to be Michelin mentioned.

    What an AMAZING and INCREDIBLE restaurant! Had the best time last night. Beautiful restaurant! From the Host to the Owner, the experience was by far the best I’ve had in a long time. I appreciate the Hospitality from the Owner and saw some great people from years back. The food 💥, the service 💥 the Sommelier pair some beautiful wines with our entrees Mixologist mad some delicious cocktails to start. The bread, the dips, the everything was outstanding! Thank you and shout out to the Chef and his/her team🙏🏾

    We went on Valentine's Day, and the restaurant had been open only a few weeks, so some of the rough edges may have improved. The space is high and elegant, with several seating choices: bar, main dining room, private curtained alcoves (very romantic) and patio in season. The food was excellent. It was a prix fixe four course meal, and there was too much food. But on a la carte evenings there is a choice of large appetizers and entrees. The spices were unusual and subtle. My salmon was enhanced, not overwhelmed by them. I do not like loud music in a restaurant, and it was very loud. Is there such a thing as Lebanese rap? The service: I am sympathetic to the problems restaurants have with staffing, especially a new restaurant, but the service was a problem. The servers were all friendly, but not very competent. Our cocktails came in the middle of the meal, after we asked for them several times. I asked the waitress whether the listed rose was Lebanese, as I like to try unusual wines. It came, and my wife noticed that it was French. We sent it back and got a Lebanese rose. The wine list is small. It was a four course meal, but used plates were not removed until we had asked several times. The bill came to almost a thousand dollars for four people, so we should have had better service. But I hope these a growing pains. As I said the food is excellent, and on a quieter evening after more experience the wait staff would probably do better. The food is excellent and unusual, so I will go back, and I woudl recommend the restaurant to others who can put up with some problems in service in return for a great meal.

    Not quite the fine dining experience we had hoped it would be. The restaurant was tastefully decorated. Not our aesthetic, but one can tell they put forth an effort. It was attractive with decent lighting. However, at one point, someone was playing with the lights and the entire restaurant went very bright. It was startling and disruptive to our meals. The menu has quite a number of options, but mostly cold and hot mezzes. With that, we just didn't find anything exceptional. The hummus was very good and the ground eggplant was nice, but how much of that can one eat? The overpriced lamb meatballs were not good (very small, overcooked and weird tasting) and the cheese cigars tasted like something from the freezer section at Giant. Server was pleasant but service was very spotty. The worst part was they ADD 20% GRATUITY TO EVERY CHECK, REGARDLESS OF PARTY SIZE OR LEVEL OF SERVICE. For that, we will not return.

    I spent 300$ and still I left the place almost hungry. The good news: The place has a nice middle-eastern ambience and decor which is eye and soul pleasing, if you are looking for an experience. They have a beautiful fountain too which reminded me of Miami, quite unique. The server and all the personnel was friendly and took care of us. The coat check-in service at the door is also something unique and convenient. They have a variety of different and unique dishes w/ unique ingredients. The bad news: The food portions are too small, actually they are samples and just that. By the time you eat your bite, you forget the taste. We ordered a plate w/ Syrian cheese and the cheese was too little to be found. That ruined the Syrian cheese experience we were looking for. Moreover, the food wasn't something special in flavor. In other words, the food couldn't justify the high prices in any way. We paid 18$ for "jeweled rice" which was just rice, nothing flavourly unique. Regarding the drinks, we got a glass of "2020 Mills Riesling", 14$ and "Rose to the occasion", 12$, one of the specials. The wine was average and the special was indeed unique but I am not sure is worth it. Finally, they enforced us to pay 20% gratuity by adding it beforehand to the bill which is very rare for Baltimore if not unheard of! I dislike it to be forced to pay any gratuity, because I am forced. On top of that, the overall food/drinks experience combined w/ the extremely high prices couldn't justify the 20%, the service was as good as in other places but not better. When I visited Miami I paid 20% gratuity but it was Miami and at prestigious restaurants. Put differently, the enforced gratuity felt more of being taken advantage and robbed. They should let the client to choose especially when the bill is so high. To conclude, I don't recommend this place at all given my experience. Go somewhere else.
