Rather disappointing first visit to Alley and Vine. Our wedding anniversary, which was acknowledged by our secondary server, not the primary. The dishes were mixed. The fish was excellent, tasty and done just right, the pork chop was over-cooked, dry and under seasoned. Kicked ourselves for not sending it back right away, but that is something that we rarely do. We did mention it to our server, when she cleared the table, and the manager "compted" our salad and apologized.

This restaurant is overpriced. The food did not warrant the $40 and $37 respective price tags. The fish was dry and the meat was under seasoned. I am not sure what is happening...

Reserved table for Father's Day brunch a week in advance, which had a set menu with three options. Very slow service (there for two hours) and ran out of one of the main dishes and one of the desserts. Not good experience when paying for an expensive meal.

We went for Father’s Day brunch. A set 3 course menu was the only offering, not unusual for an occasion like Fathers Day, but they’d run out of food, so really we were paying $55 per person for whatever food was available, and they added a mandatory 20% tip for a party of 4. So in total, over $350 for a very unremarkable meal. The outdoor seating is cute, and nice to sit at in a good day but I would not recommend this place for any meal you’d like to be special in any way.

Visited Alley and Vine for Father’s Day brunch. Never in my LIFE have I ever experienced worse service. Our salads/ appetizers took an hour from when we ORDERED and the main course took 2 hours from when we arrived. We paid THE FULL price for 5 people and one child, yet our desserts never arrived? We LITERALLY never got them. Maybe next time they shouldn’t take on as many reservations since they CLEARLY cannot handle it. Good food, but yikes, save your money and go somewhere else. Never dining here again. For what you’re getting, you’re better off going somewhere ELSE and with a MUCH better ambience. My family and I are beyond appalled. I beg you, please book something else or your special occasion will be RUINED by awful service and overpriced food.

We were able to get in last minute and we LOVED everything! The caviar, the brie, the heirloom tomato salad, and the lobster risotto were all things we would reorder!! The cocktails were also real highlights! Also, note that the indoor seating is a bit loud. Next time we will look forward to outdoor if available. Highly recommend for foodies!

First Time at Alley & Vine-Anniversary Dinner Service: Andrew w/help from other staff, very attentive and all items served came promptly in correct timing. Very knowledgeable server as to what was on the menu and advance warning for items that were not available at our seating. Food: All items from appetizer through desert were very well prepared and plating was excellent, worthy of photos. We had main courses of Lobster Risotto for my spouse and a very fine Pork Chop for myself. Both cooked perfectly. Portions were good sized and the vegetables (Broccolini and other items that came with my Pork Chop were delicious and cooked perfectly Value: As all quality restaurants have raised prices somewhat, Alley and Vine prices reflect current prices comparable with other, equal eateries. As I recall, main courses above 35.00, with 4 dishes on the entre list. Our meal, including2 glasses of wine, 2 cocktails, 2 appetizers, desert, and 2 main dishes was $200 before tip. A reasonable cost for such good service and high quality food. Note: I did see a Thursday Night special, multi course dinner for 49/person and will try that for lesser occasions for sure. Good Value for special occasions and the food was far above average. We plan to be back as budget allows.

We ate dinner here in early June on a Saturday night. It was chilly, but there were heaters & outside was very nice. The place is down an alley (surprise!!), but there is an illuminated green sign on the East side of Park Street, "Alley & Vine". We parked nearby but parking in the area is tight.

I love this restaurant and cannot believe we have a restaurant of such quality - a real destination restaurant - on island. The space is beautiful, service is outstanding - well trained & attentive without being overbearing, and the food is beautiful. Hubby and I split a perfectly balanced green salad with fennel and cherries. I had short rib (moist, flavorful on top of a corn purée) and he had the spring risotto (fresh, bright). We both had strawberry shortcake for dessert - perfect balance of tart and sweet, and not overly sweet. I also found my new favorite cocktail, prickle my fancy with tequila and habanero pepper. My only wish - more southern European wines on the menu. Thank you! We will be back!

Very nice location with great staff and excellent food. I recommend they not accept reservations at closing time, or at least let the person know. It kind of sucks for everyone involved to be rushed or stay longer than they want. Had a negative impact on a good date vibe.

Everything was delicious up to the main course. Unfortunately the burgers were extremely undercooked- loads of pink raw ground beef in the middle for a medium well order- with a dense, dry crumbly bun. The service was good and the rest of the food was astounding.

On a 20-80 scale (50=average, 70 is 2 standard deviations above average, etc.) Overall - 60 - Some was very good, some was cromulent. Focaccia - 60 Gazpacho - 70 Pork Belly - 60 Black Forest Cake - 30 (too sweet, but I'm not a cake guy) Espresso - 60 Cocktail - 40 (It's a Jungle Out There) Corn Chowder - 50 Beef Short Rib - 70 Service - 70 Value - 50 - I felt the wine pricing was a bit steep and the rest of the menu just a little on the high side

Brunch with sister - she has oatmeal and side of potatoes, I had duck confit hash. The service was excellent. The food was overall beautifully prepared, oatmeal was perfect - taste and texture - seasoning beautifully balanced but potatoes were undercooked - actually crunchy, thus the 4 instead of 5 rating. That said, we will definitely go back. It is so exciting to have a restaurant of this quality in Alameda.

Our first time eating at Alley & Vine. First off, my husband wanted me to mention how much he loved the background music -- relaxing and a good mix of songs that we all enjoyed. Now for the food . . . the Taste of A&V White Sturgeon Caviar as the perfect bite to introduce my 19-year-old grandson to caviar -- slightly salty and slightly briny -- just the way caviar should taste. Needless to say, my grandson and I loved it. For our second course, we had the Phyllo-Wrapped 'Locarno' Brie, Mixed Baby Greens, and Nori Crusted Tombo Tuna. The idea of smearing the side of the salad plate with the goat cheese was a brilliant idea so that the diner could wipe each bite with the cheese before eating. The Tombo tuna was very fresh, very Japanese. I wish I could be more descriptive with the Brie, but my grandson, after giving him some instruction on how to load up the endive, said it was very good. Our third course consisted of the Local King Salmon, Yellow Corn Chowder, and Wild Nettle Risotto. The salmon, while my husband ordered that it be cooked "medium", was received "well-done"; it however was not over cooked and still very much enjoyable. The quinoa was very full flavored. The aleppo peppers really came through in the Corn Chowder, but did not overpower the sweetness of the corn. As far as the Wild Nettle Risotto? I have rarely enjoyed a dish of risotto as much as I did last night. The flavors of the vegetables were perfectly balanced, and very fresh. Lastly, the three of us shared a Strawberry Shortcake and Butterscotch Pudding. The strawberry shortcake was served on a drop biscuit, just the way strawberry shortcake should be served. The lemon whipped cream really brought the dessert up to the next level. The Butterscotch Pudding was very delicate, but could have been a bit more flavorful and smoother as I thought the pudding a little grainy. Alley & Vine does a marvelous job of California Cuisine and at appropriate prices.

Excellent service and ambiance. The flavors were delicious but had texture consistency issues (eg. Popcorn in a smooth corn chowder? Tender beef coupled with dry stringy pork in a Bolognese) That shouldn't occur in a $120 check for two dinners.

It’s evident that the owner and management have a genuine interest to make sure you leave extremely satisfied. Jorsen was one of the waiters we had and he made my daughter feel extra special by offering her some oyster shells. He always remembers us and says hi. Really can’t recommend this place enough.
