    We loved this place when it opened. But now it’s better than ever. The outside area is wonderful, weather permitting. But they’ve updated the interior too. The menu has evolved and has more Asian influences. Great spot for a date night.

    Everything at order was salty from the menu. The scallops are ordered also the fry Shrimp toast also was salty. So I will not be coming back to Alley & Vines no time soon. For any service until this situation be Solved

    This is the 3rd time we have been to Alley and Vine and each time it has offered very good food and very good service. Their menu changes enough over time that it allows us to experience different dishes. Our most recent visit was overall outstanding.

    Third time to Alley & Vine and had an excellent time, as always. The restaurant’s indoor and outdoor areas are both quaint; staff is always super welcoming and knowledgeable; food is always fresh and seasonal; cocktails are flavorful and strong (in a good way). They make great picks for the menu! Nice for a date night, birthday, etc. Thanks!!

    I hosted my women friends from the North Bay at Alley and Vine this weekend. We all enjoyed the food, which was delicious, and the attention and service we received. My friends were very impressed and I was proud to introduce them to one of Alameda's best restaurants.

    The homemade bread is delicious and always changes. The zero proof cocktails are a wonderful non-alcoholic alternative. Try the olive oil cake!!

    They had a bad night. Apparently, someone didn't show up. We had a reservation, and it took a while to clear a table. We had to ask for a menu, and they only brought one. We had to ask for a second menu for my wife. The drinks were really expensive. A glass of wine was $20. They had only four entrees. Two of which were large meat dishes designed for two people. We didn't want to share a dish because we like to get different entrees to compare. Of the other two entrees, they were out of one leaving really one option; a vegetarian type of pasta dish. At that time, my wife and I looked at each other and decided to leave. We told the waiter goodbye and left without buying a drink or eating anything. We only went there because we had a gift certificate. We may go back for lunch some time to use up the gift certificate. I hope they solve their staffing issue. But, if they want my business they need to make some changes.

    Service was a bit slow. They could use an additional waiter on a Thursday evening. There was also some confusion regarding the happy hour menu. We were not offered a happy hour menu so I figured they stopped offering it. but when I asked them if happy hour was no longer provided, the waiter said what we ordered would have happy hour pricing. I wish they would had just brought me a happy hour menu or mentioned it was an offering. It was just all so unclear.

    Great food. We loved everything by we ordered. Summer salad, broccoli and humus were outstanding. Portions are a bit small but other than that, excellent experience!

    We invited some friends out who were also clients. What a great treat! It was a little celebration on a business matter and we wanted to make it a nice time out. The restaurant really delivered! While they did not carry the Champagne we wanted there was an incredible substation that was just as wonderful. The service was really good and the food was special. Go there…..you will love it.

    The meal was delicious and the service very good. The lack of beef on the menu was disappointing and I only found out about the ribeye being available because I asked! The excuse for no hamburger was that A&V ran out….. how do you run out of hamburger meat? The worst part about the meal was the noise level, which was extremely loud; either the acoustics inside middle aisle is very bad or there were extremely loud “talkers” near us. In future we will definitely sit outside. The food, ribeye and potatoes, was excellent , as was the chocolate martini.

    Overall, would recommend. Food and ambience is great. Service needs work. Okay, I get that I have to pay premium for a group reservation (8, includes 1 well-behaved 5yo), but 20% automatic gratuity seems steep when the bill is already high. In my case, ended up paying around $100 for tip. Fine, but I expect excellent service, which we didn't receive. To clarify, everyone BUT our main server (tall African-American gent with a pony tail) was great. Seemed like everyone else was covering for the main server. At one point even the host was pitching in. It bothered me that the server kind of forced us to submit the entire order during what would normally time to submit the drinks and apps order. You might question if he actually "forced" us, but what else do you call it when his tone gets really serious and sassy when I asked to just submit the apps first? I understand this is more efficient for the staff, but that should also mean better service from them. Also, he avoided eye contact when we tried to get his attention and we waited about 20 minutes after the table was cleared to get the bill. I would assume they would want to turn the table over faster, but it didn't seem the case. With a better, more courteous/kind server, this experience could have been great.

    Pretty underwhelming, you can get a much better meal at other restaurants at this price point. The steak and the tuna crudo were both a bit bland and disappointing. The mussels were delicious though.

    We love this place. Outstanding food with a changing menu. It is our go to place for celebrations. I have never had a dish there that was anything but awe inspiring. Run, do not walk to get some of the best creative food Alameda has to offer.

    Not crowded on a Monday evening and well served by our waiter. We ordered three small bites and two small plates and it was quite adequate for us. Each dish was delicious. The milk bread was really tasty. We capped it off with the olive cake for dessert which we also shared.
