Allen's gets top marks for all casual dining criteria. Some of the most friendly and helpful service I have encountered anywhere and the food exceeded expectations. They also have an incredible whiskey menu encompassing the usual suspects to the one of a kind sublime drams. I also found the value to be excellent. My only caveat which pretty much applies to all restaurants in Toronto is the noise level which can make quiet table conversation difficult. I wish restaurants would invest in a little acoustic soak-up.

We are regulars at Allan's - drawn by its proximity to The Danforth Music Hall, excellent beverages, service and food. The curried butternut squash soup was wholesome - roasted and purreed squash with just the right amount of spice - a great way to remedy a cold damp day. I always order the lamb shank with champ and my wife enjoyed a vegetarian pizza. The wines were tasty. Service is always excellent and we particularly appreciate that they made the effort to call us when a concert we were coming to see was cancelled due to covid amongst band members. We live out of town so they saved us time and expense by notifying us about the cancellation. We are life long patrons of Allan's.

Everything was fine except at the end of the meal we were asked to give up our table sooner than we would have liked as the maitre d' said they had another group waiting. We noticed at least 4 empty table for 4 on our way out. We had been there for 1 1/2 hour catching up with old friends over Sunday brunch. No mention of time restraints were mentioned when we sat down.

We head to Allen's every year for a pre-Christmas craze reunion. It is by far my favorite pub In Toronto. Food is great. Beer selection is great. Whiskey selections great. Service is always great. A true gem.

Allen's never disappoints. I have not been since BC (before COVID), but nothing has changed. We were seated quickly. The space is a little tight, but that is the atmosphere of a Pub. It is a little loud, but good Pubs always have noise. The food was very good with a diverse menu. We were in and out in time to make our concert at the Danforth Music Hall. The experience brought back memories of my time in Ireland this past June!

Allen’s has been a neighbourhood staple for decades. And it’s no wonder. Food is always great. Service is equally outstanding. Value is also impressive given a dinner out in 2023 can be very pricey. The only challenge is just how loud it gets at peak times. And that isn’t a complaint… it’s just a notice to anyone who is looking for a quiet night out. But that’s what happens when you have a full restaurant of very happy-to-be-there patrons! Allen’s - a must visit on the Danforth!

I always look forward to a reason to dine at Allen's. The food is TOP notch. The table cloths are adorable and the staff are amazing. For our date night last night I had the fish and chips (the fish is THICK and with crispy batter, more fish than batter) and a delicious glass of Cab.Sauv. BUT can I stop you now to tell you about the star of the show (besides my husband)... The Guinness chocolate cake. Get it. Get it now. Immaculate.

Terrific customer service. Excellent Caesar salad. Ordered the salmon and potato appetizer - very good except that the potato cakes came out a bit cold. Can highly recommend.

Booked birthday lunch with a friend. The host had reserved a booth for us noting that I had usually asked for a quiet table. Our server Tag was attentive and helpful. Food, as always, was well prepared and we both enjoyed our choices. Allen's is one of my favourites based on quality of food and excellent service. Don't change a thing.

Service was friendly, attentive and professional. The food quality was above average, but a bit pricy - not so much for the items themselves, but that sides that often come included were sold separately. All things considered, I would put Allen's in the top 25% in their dining category, around Toronto.

My wife and I made a reservation to eat here and when we arrived we were escorted to a tiny table crammed into a corner, right by the kitchen. Do not think this should happen when you reserve for a specific time. Food and ambience were good. There is a very pleasant, upbeat vibe to the restaurant which we very much enjoyed. Will give Allen's another try.

Allen's was one of our favourite haunts back when we lived in TO. Sadly, the food has really gone downhill (but uphill in the prices). Warmed over fries, nondescript halibut. Will go elsewhere next trip to the 6ix (sadly). Still a great place for drinks and ambiance, though.
