The Brasserie has become synonymous with the North End of Halifax, the region’s most vibrant food destination, serving locally sourced product in an iconic neighborhood.

French inspired food in a stylish and vibrant atmosphere, the Brasserie (est. 2013) focuses on sustainable seafood & ambitious sophisticated cooking where all breads, jams, sauces and desserts are made in house.

Sit on the butcher block bar and enjoy a glass of wine after work, a bar snack, or a full menu during dinner hours. The exposed brick lounge offers a cozy nook for quiet conversation. Further inside the Brasserie is an open kitchen where one can sit at the counter and enjoy the inner workings of the Brasserie culinary operation. Our lively upstairs patio seats 50 and is open during the sunny summer months for cocktails & cuisine.

We welcome you for Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30- 2:30 with a snack menu between 2:30-4pm and we are open 7 days a week, 4pm to close.

    Agricola Street Brasserie can accommodate up to 25 guests for private dining in the mezzanine overlooking the open kitchen. Perfect for a private dinner party, a christmas event or a dinner lecture, it’s tucked away enough to be private but open enough to still feel a part of the dining activity. For larger events we are able to reserve the entire dining room, mezzanine and patio!

    Limited menu, I had the chicken, flavourful but was cold. Everyone else enjoyed their meal. Pork chop was massive, Fish smelled off to me but apparently was tasty. Nice decor, music was too loud for the vibe of the place and the varied selection of tunes was very weird. It is a once a year place for me to go eat.

    The chosen menu items were very good. Loved the calamari! The other guests also enjoyed the steak and hamburgers. The menu selection was very limited however.

    The service was very very slow but the poor waiter's section included the rooftop patio and downstairs so he was running. We were not in a rush so it did not matter but it took 20 mins to take a drink order and another 15 mins to get it. Food was very good. Waiter was super friendly.

    It was great but a little too noisy for our comfort. the waitress was especially wonderful. I will remember her efficiency, tact, good humour and pretty much perfect demeanor for a while. Perhaps return because of it.

    The burger I had was delicious but way too messy. I ended up having to eat it with a fork and knife as the sauce kept running all over my hands.

    The restaurant itself had an amazing atmosphere great menu and tasty drinks. Unfortunately our overall experience was killed by the service. The hostess seemed cold and did not seem happy to be there. She only acknowledged my husband and in general wasn’t very friendly. Our server did not add to the experience he seemed to be a bit stuck up and only perked up when we were ready to pay our bill. We are easy going people that always tip 20%. That was not the case. I would recommend management talking to their staff about guest experience.

    My husband and I came in for dinner on a Wednesday night and were underwhelmed by everything at Agricola Street Brasserie. It was a quiet evening at the restaurant and yet service was slower than usual. We had the beet salad and seared scallops to start which were good. However, the mains were not quite on par with the quality we usually expect from the Brasserie. I ordered the braised lamb which was lukewarm at best when it came to the table. My husband had the steak frites which was okay. For dessert, we shared the chocolate pot de creme which is described as "chocolate custard, shortbread cookie". It was 100% not custard consistency as the creme was cold and hard when it was served. We've had better service and food here during Burger Week. We were disappointed with this visit.

    The atmosphere was nice and drinks were very good. The food was inconsistent, some things were good and others disappointing. I wouldn’t be in a hurry to go back.

    My third time here. Great menu, the duck breast was really juicy, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Had a really nice red wine to pair with it as well, a Bordeaux. Great ambience, and outstanding and personable service courtesy of our server Benny. He knew the menu in and out, and was really professional. Definitely will be back.

    Great evening at the Brasserie on Wednesday, May 4th. It has been a couple of months since our last visit as we have been away. Still a wonderful place to dine that offers great food coupled with unparalleled service. Staff make you feel very welcome and are eager to ensure food/drink are served exactly as you requested.     Delicious. We had to wait a bit but it WAS Burger Week. We were seated promptly at a wonderful table and just squeaked into Happy Hour cocktails with the help of the Hostess. Love this place.

    This was my first time and will be the first of many! I and my three girlfriends that went with me were blown away, by the service, the ambiance, the cleanliness, the beautifully set tables and of course the food!! Can't wait to go back!!

    Get the duck! It was awesome! Also, the salmon special was delicious, according to my wife. Server was excellent. Food was delicious. Ambiance was nice, a little loud where it is an open concept, but still able to hold a conversation. Overall, highly recommend.

    When I made our reservation I asked for a specific table and wjen we arrived the table was free and i asked fpr the table i requested and was told it was reserved for someone else. The table remained vacant for the next hour and a half, almost until we left. The chicken dish was not the normal standard and the burger was too well done and the bun was not the normal gourmet bun they usually serve.

Unfortunately this table was reserved for a larger party who ran a little late, therefore in the moment of your reservation we could not move your group to that table. Our chicken does change seasonally and I can assure you our burger was served on the same gourmet bun as always

    My burger was cold and overcooked and dry .it was covered with condiments so initially it did not taste too bad.
