Hey, Chicago. Yesterday, I attended Chicago Gourmet Somm Sessions Vol. 9 at Adalina Italian, and this was such a fun afternoon of food, wine, and music. @chicago_gourmet @adalinaitalian Somm Sessions brings some of Chicago’s top sommeliers together for a unique challenge: pairing wines with songs to complement each course. As each dish came out, the music changed, the wine flowed, and every pairing brought something completely different to the table. Every glass raised supports the Illinois Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. @illinoisrestaurants A huge shout of to to the winner of the Somm Sessions, Josh Halper from M Street Collective. #chicago #thingstodoinchicago #chicagogourmet

Duke called Liu to dine at Seoul X Soul collaboration between @sookyoahn of @adalinachicago and @alavda of @olamaieaustin . This chick won seats for a meal where these Michelin Stars collide and I knew @richard.k.liu had to be by my side. We were welcomed with a sip of orange vodka, blueberry liqueur, star anise and lemon. Then a gold digger for me and a red pants Negroni for him. The first “flex” was a spicy cucumber salad with smoked mussels, Korean pear and Calabrian dressing. Of course we jumped on the wine pairing a course or two late and had to catch up. Then I was feeling highly “cultured” (that’s a pickling pun - ooo and possibly a double entendre about me) when the kimchi and pulled pork Arancini arrived tipped with black sesame aioli and the Scamorza cheese made it nice and gooey inside. The Texas chili gnocchi was a delish spin on a Frito pie which had the Texan sitting next to me feeling nostalgic. The KFC Milanese was so crispy and juicy with gochujang red eye gravy plus braised greens. Then dessert “peeled” out- banana gelato and brown butter chocolate chip cookies. 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪 #chicagogram #chicagofoodie #feedmeandtellmeimpretty #bluehairdontcare #topchef #chicagofood #michelinstar

Last week before New Year’s Eve my family and I went to Adalina! This place has been on my list forever so I was so excited to try it! In the heart of Gold Coast this must be added to your list! It ended up making my top 10 restaurants of 2024! We started with some drinks, I got the Gold Digger which was vodka and passion fruit. This drink was so sweet and delicious! For our apps we got the meatballs, beef carpaccio, octopus, and the fried green tomatoes. Everything was great but the stand outs were for sure the meat balls and the beef carpaccio. The meatballs were so flavorful and feel apart in your mouth. And the beef carpaccio was light but had a great aioli paired with it. Definitely recommend For our pastas we four different ones, first was the seasonal white truffle fazzoletto. This had real white truffles on them and was definitely the most unique pasta with Rulabaga and balsamic sage sauce for a super pungent flavor. Next we got the mafaldine which was a lamb ragu with almonds and mint. The almonds added such a perfect crunch to the pasta that I would have never expected to like. Next was the salmon vesuvio which was paired with gnocci. These gnocci were like actual pillows that were so amazingly fluffy in your mouth. Last was the Agnolotti which were duck stuffed tortellini with white pumpkin and vinegarette. This had such a good flavor that everyone loved. Lastly for dessert we got the hazelnut cake with banana pudding ice cream and hazelnuts. The bite of the cake, ice cream and hazelnuts was the perfect desert combination with all the best flavors and textures. Overall everything here was amazing. The atmosphere was beautiful and decor was stunning. The food was to die for and the service was great! Definitely add this to your list! #chicagofood #chicagofoodie #chicagoeats #chicagorestaurants #chicagobucketlist #chicago #visitchicago #chicagofoodscene #bestofchicago #foodie #bestrestaurants #chicagorestaurants #chicagothingstodo #thingstodochicago @adalinachicago

Reservations mean very little. We had a 9 pm reservation and we were seated at 9.40 pm. Food was good and service was good once we were seated. Very noisy.

Cameron was our server. She did an amazing job! It was my daughter’s birthday and the restaurant reached out to ask her name. They printed a custom menu wishing her a Happy Birthday! She loved it and her birthday dessert was the sweetest surprise. Our waitress had excellent suggestions especially about wine pairing. Every person who set something down or picked something up had nice things to say and a great attitude. We WILL be back. We loved it there. Thank you to the Chefs, front, and back of the house staff you are appreciated.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and undeniably social media-worthy. The ambiance is elegant, and the service is attentive and polished, exactly what one would expect from an establishment of this caliber. Unfortunately, the culinary experience fell significantly short of expectations. Having enjoyed fine dining experiences around the world, I can confidently say this was among the most disappointing meals I've had. I ordered the Chicken Milanese, which was dry, bland, and lacked the flavor and execution I would expect from a restaurant positioning itself at this level. The shrimp cocktail was equally underwhelming. The cocktail sauce lacked flavor, and, more concerning, the shrimp had not been properly deveined. At this price point, attention to detail should be nonnegotiable. Seeing the digestive tract running down the center of my shrimp was simply unacceptable. The side dishes were no better. The broccolini was excessively charred, while the potatoes were overwhelmed by lemon juice, making them unnecessarily acidic. Neither dish demonstrated the balance or finesse one expects from fine dining. On a positive note, my husband enjoyed his halibut, which he described as nicely prepared, flaky, and flavorful. Unfortunately, my cocktail was also disappointing, overly sweet and rather basic in its composition. My overall impression is that the restaurant has mastered the aesthetics of fine dining but has considerable work to do when it comes to the actual cuisine. Beautiful surroundings and attentive service certainly enhance the dining experience, but ultimately, the food should be the star of the show. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected far more. While the setting is certainly worth photographing, the dining experience itself did not justify the expectations.

Hi Jennifer, Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your dinner with us last night on Halloween at Adalina Italian. I am very glad to hear that the service and ambiance was enjoyable. I am very disappointed to hear, however, that you didn't enjoy any of the food except for the halibut. I am going to reach out to you directly as well to see how else we could have done better. Thank you again for your understanding and feedback, Scott Hinden General Manager

Booked a reservation for my boyfriend's birthday off the menu and proximity to where we were staying. The interior was cute, but it was SO loud inside. It sounded like a crowded cafeteria at lunch time, which for us was kind of a bummer. For drinks we ordered the Positano paradise, Bene fatto, Tiramisu martini, and limoncello shot. The Positano and bene were incredible, he said the bene was a top 5 cocktail ever for him. The tiramisu was not anything special and we both did not like the limoncello at all, we ended up leaving most of it due to it being undrinkable. for appetizer we order the octopus which was fantastic! The octopus could have been a touch more tender but the potatoes and goat cheese made up for that. Main dishes were the massive veal chop and the salmon vesuvio. Both were great! the gnocchi with the salmon was like eating a tender little cloud. Finally for dessert we did the cheesecake and I would say it was average. It just needed one additional element to make it truly great. They also brought out a large complimentary dish of strawberry soft serve for his birthday that had a candle and "happy birthday" chocolate in it, which was very sweet.

This was our first time, and it was like finding treasure. The food is exceptional, creative and different. Don't skip antipasti, try the Blue Fin Tuna Tartare, its stunning. They take creative license with their homemade pasta dishes, adding special character to each sauce and macaroni - you cannot go wrong with any of them. Next trips will include steaks, chicken and branzino for sure. Wait staff is amazingly knowledgeable and has a genuine appreciative and accommodating attitude. We stopped at the speak easy on the way out to decompress from a tremendous meal, it was great experience, sitting quietly in a smaller setting - the exceptional craft cocktails topped off our night. We had a blast.
