A CELIAC-FRIENDLY DENVER RESTAURANT MY BESTIE CAN ACTUALLY ENJOY 😌🍴 We checked out Acova in LoHi, and this one immediately stood out to me because my bestie has celiac. Acova has a separate gluten-free/allergen menu and a way for the kitchen to check what can be prepared gluten-free, so she didn’t have to settle for just one or two options. They even have a dedicated gluten-free prep area and fryer, which makes this a spot worth knowing about if you or someone you’re dining with has celiac. What we tried: 🦞 Broadway Lobster Mac & Cheese 🍔 “My” Burger with Bacon & Onion Strings 🐟 Blackened Salmon And the best part? The food is actually GOOD. This isn’t a place where gluten-free feels like an afterthought. Everything was great, service was good, and it was a good value. They get dinged because of reservation system. This place was half-empty when I arrived and they sat us in a not very great area of the restaurant. I reminded them that my reservation requested a quiet table and I asked if we can be moved. He said no.

Lovely, weekday lunch experience with great food and super good service. It was quiet enough to hear other people at the table without any issue. Ambience reminds me of fern bars of the 80ms in a really good way with natural light, open space and tables far enough apart to have some privacy. Menu is just the right size with good selection of excellent apps that border on entree size and can be shared (oh those artichokes!!), very good size salads and fancier entrees . The sandwiches are so carefully prepared-my Turkey Brie panini was perfectly crisped with the melty Brie and crunchy slivers of apples, yum! Fish and chips was two generous pieces of battered cod with the right proportion of fish to coating and nicely seasoned shoestring fries. I had the short ribs on a different visit and well worth the price. Servers were attentive, kept glasses filled and empty dishes removed and brought check promptly when requested. It was a little less crowded than my first visit although I would recommend reservations. There is no designated handicap parking - it seems to be all on street parking in the surrounding streets and that could be interesting if there are events going on at nearby businesses.

First visit to Acova was positive. The restaurant is well designed and spacious. Decor was nicely done. Large dining room with outdoor patio. The food was very good and portion sizes were more than adequate. Our server did a very good job of helping us and was attentive but not overbearing. I will definitely return.

Food has become mediocre after you wait a long time to first order and then get your food. A few staff members were snarky and rude. Not worth the price!

Our waitress was great but clearly had too many tables because every interaction began with an apology (time, another table, bar, etc.) Do expect a wait even with a late (8pm) reservation (for 3.) Food was beyond amazing and they ensured the soy allergy was acknowledged and safety was taken seriously. Overall, even with the long wait, next time I’m planning on being in Denver, I’ll make a reservation here!

We couldn’t have loved it more! I have celiac and avoid dairy as well as gluten, and my husband avoids gluten. I’ve never been to a restaurant with more options! It was all so delicious we got appetizers and desserts - which we never ever do! We were in Denver for 4 days for business together and came to Acova 2 of those nights. If it weren’t for time and other commitments, we would’ve gone every day and gotten something new each time. We also had our 2 year old with us, and we were placed in a comfy large booth where she happily played. Their kids menu is awesome! Cannot recommend it enough!

it was our first time going here..it was fir my bday dinner and i made the decision to go by looking at the menu and seen 4 appetizers off top i would order ..lol im the appetizer queen so i was sold ..our server was awesome , he was polite, he took plates out if the way, dealt with 10 of very easily and we would definately go back..portion sizes are really good and great pricing ..thank you Acova
