The service seemed very rushed, which we did not enjoy. Prime across the street was a much better experience.
My shrimp in the shrimp scampi dish was over cooked. In addition, I got the pasta with the scampi and apparently it was a 10 dollar upcharge, so a 48 dollar dish became a 58 dollar dish (plus it was supposed to come with garlic toast and they didn’t even give me that).
Upsides: atmosphere; fried mozzarella appetizer; and fried Oreo desserts.
This amazing restaurant was recommended by many friends and it did not disappoint! The food, atmosphere, service were all fabulous. We started with THE meatball....the best, along with the tomato and mozzarella which is fresh and delicious. All the main courses were perfect and such big portions that we had a nice amount to bring home with us. The bone-in veal parm, chicken parm, linguini with white clam sauce and 8oz filet mignon....WOW! Too stuffed to get dessert, but hear we must go back to try the fried Oreo! Can’t wait to return.
Awesome food as always and great service - well worth the trip down to the end of Ocean Drive and fun to watch Prime 112 across the road! The portions are massive but no complaints about that
Always a staple to go to in Miami. Brought a bottle of wine with us this time and didn’t get treated with the same high level of service despite getting appetizers and entrees. Still very good restaurant.
The service and the food was excellent. The restaurant is located in one of the hot spots of Miami Beach. You would enjoy the food and the Miami Beach environment.
Prime Italian was excellent. Great service, amazing food
The manager was arguably autistic. And the waiter was an arrogant f*ck.
Jose our server was excellent. Food incredible and ambience was perfect.
Our bartender on the other hand wasn’t that friendly. She had a sour look on her face and chatted to the customer next to us more about her boyfriend then acknowledging we existed. 😂
Very crowded but delicious food and friendly waiters.
Great place to dine!
One of the best in Miami!
New Years Eve Dinner; Our waiter was fabulous; Food was delicious; Will definitely return on our next visit to Miami
We had a late reservation but were seated earlier than our reservation time which was a plus. The table that we were given however was the worst corner table they had - pretty much on the sidewalk with wind blowing from every direction possible. We lasted 5 minutes and asked the waiter if we can switch to a different table as it looked like there were other options. The waiter came back and said that nothing was available. We lasted another 5 minutes and frustrated i went back to the hostess. She said that she will switch us to a table by the door. 5 minutes later I see that she sat someone at the table by the door. Went back to see her AGAIN and she offered another table.
The waiter was pushing really hard for their specials $65 for 5 lobster ravioli and $95 seafood pasta. When asked about other option he didn’t have many recommendations. The food was average at the most, however the portions were large. I had a pasta with Kobe meatballs and the broccoli was so bitter you couldn’t eat them, there was no sauce on my pasta therefore it felt like eating plain pasta shells with meatballs - super dry. My husband had linguine pasta with clams, but after trying my dish said mine was better.
If i would go back, it wouldn’t be for the food but the scene, maybe a salad and drinks. It is located in the hottest spot with lots of traffic. Good people watching spot with lots of nice exotic cars.
It was just ok. A bit pricey for informal family style eating.
Took an Hour to get the food. Kobe Meatball Very Overrated.
Good food and service
Terrible service. The atmosphere of a restaurant can be just as important as the food. We were placed outside on a side street (not on ocean drive) far from what can be described as the designated patio area. It was actually in front of a closed convenience store next door. Server was rushed and in a hurry, and cut me off to converse with other staff. Plate and table cloth were dirty. When I asked to be seated in another area I was told we would have to wait at least another hour. Annoyed, I decided to leave before ordering any food.
Why take a réservation if you make us wait 55min before to get our table?
If you’re not local, don’t bother going. We had an 8:15pm reservation and left at 11pm because we still had not been served our entrees. They were over an hour and a half behind on seating reservations with no apologies and the bar was crowded with families (and kids) eating, making it difficult to enjoy a pre dinner cocktail.
Definitely catering to locals, which is fine, but to the detriment of unfamiliar patrons seeking to have a nice dining experience. My wife and I ate here last year and the food and service were both excellent. Everything has changed. When we finally left, the manager’s comments were that he was unaware and hated that we were having a bad experience “on our vacation.” We certainly aren’t tourists to the area.
Waiter was rushing us. Also rude. Wouldn’t allow us to order our mains after we had our appetizers. Obvs worries he would be short changed. Forgot to bring our broccoli and Brussels sprouts sides. No apologies. No thank you after we paid the bill. Apparently he has been written up for the same behaviour on Yelp before. Which we had known. Our favourite restaurant is no longer on our” must visit “list.
We have been coming here since it’s opening .
Wow , what a change. Portions are smaller. My husband ordered minestrone soup at 7 pm and they were out.
We ordered the shrimp scampi and they were not the same size shrimp that we had been served on numerous occasions and they were extremely over cooked .
Very disappointed. If they can’t handle busy nights, then don’t take so many reservations !!!!
Don’t think we’ll be back.
Everything was great. The company I had was the best thing there, and that's in consideration of how outstanding everything was as I've shown above. We were both very relaxed and have discussed how great of a time we had at dinner. As a matter of fact, it was so relaxing my date fell asleep on me within minutes of arriving home she was so full. And on top of it then I would commend the lighting or ambiance because she looked so stunning, but that was all her and some of the new items she purchased just to be at your restaurant. Fantastic night, I think you should give a glowing review of her! Her name is Lauen, I'm sure everyone there would remember her. She should really get an award.
Despite being a mob scene on Christmas Day dinner, we were seated right away (without a reservation, you were in trouble and at Prime 112 across the street, even with a reservation people were waiting over an hour). Have dined here numerous times. Attentive servers, water refilled regularly, and excellent food but not inexpensive. The Prjme chopped salad is enough for 3-4 people to share. Fried calamari was as usual - nothing special - but the price was increased from $18 on the website to $23 on the menu. Had the spaghetti with Kobe meat ball - excellent -Kobe lasagna, and rigatoni carbonara. Pastas are always good. In the past have have short rib risotto - really good flavor, and chicken parm - large enough for 2-3 to share. The usual dessert - fried Oreos, although this time the crust was a little overcooked. Overall a good meal and a happening scene.
They under cooked my steak three separate times and the manager was not at all apologetic about it and didn’t seem to care at all.
We love the atmosphere here. It’s one of our favorite restaurants. We live an hour away and when we have a special occasion we always think it’s worth the drive. The food is always amazing and the staff treats us like family.
We had lunch at Prime Italian for Christmas. They have indoor and outdoor dining options and we chose outdoor because the weather was so nice that day. However, the indoor space is very elegant, so either would be fine. Service was great, food was excellent and they have an extensive, and not cheap, wine list. Would highly recommend.
Hostesses incompetent and rude! 20 min wait w reservation. Table was so close to hostess stand that the guest in our party was bumped repeatedly by people checking in. Not relaxing! Would never ever recommend or go back.
Waiter was extremely rude and not helpful at all. Otherwise, luckily the food was excellent and nice terasse.
While on vacation in Miami Prime Italian is a must. Pricey but well worth it. 👍👍
Great food. Great Service
Good food and service great. Will definitely come back. Only constructive criticism...Seating was not that great. Booth seating was not comfortable and table was too close to other tables. Practically in someone else’s conversation which is not ideal.
Food was good to excellent. Table was right outside of kitchen and awful. Waiters and bus boys banging into us. Plates and glasses clanging. Bus boys standing over our table with hands full of dishes. Just don’t understand how they can place a table in the spot we were in and think that is ok for a $300 bill???!
When we arrived we were told were on the wait list, despite actually having reservations. What’s the point of a reservation if you’re then added to a wait list? So rude. Food is mediocre, like an upscale Cheesecake Factory. $40 fish was bone dry. Portions are massive so you can share. Service was slow; they comped our dessert
For years, we have taken visitors from all over the country to Prime Italian. Everybody has loved the experience.
Reservation was honored and we were sat at our table when we arrived. Food was excellent and prepared as requested
Excellent food - every dish is probably enough for two!
Portions are ridiculously large! More than a person should eat. Food was terrific, good wines, the garlic cheese bread to die for.
Great food and excellent service - we always eat at Prime Italian when we are in Miami. High quality steaks and sides and the prime meatball and spaghetti is delicious. Deep fried Oreos are a must! Always good!
