We’re Chefs and partners Beverly Kim and Johnny Clark. We opened Parachute back in 2014, and although our menu has changed over time, our goal remains the same: serving Korean food from the heart to our neighbors in Avondale and the Greater Chicago area. Trust your server! Let them be your guide. We had to wait 5 mins for a table but the host set us off to the side so we weren’t in the way. Outstanding dishes that you should not miss: haelmul pajeon, dry aged bulgogi, and s’mores dessert. Some in our party said the s’mores dessert is the best dessert they have ever had! We had excellent service and Chef Beverly Kim said hi to our table!!

Spectacular food!! Ordered way too much and ate too much, but zero regrets. Cant wait to go back and try some more stuff. Service was awesome and I loved the space, great music too.

I would say, the food is very good, but the wine list is terrible, I would say I tried three different wines, and all of them were bad, not just average. They need to offer more wines by the glass that have a little bit more character even if they’re more expensive.

Chef Beverly takes Korean food to the next level. The Bo-ssam and Sudubu with lobster are delicious. The dessert, bingsu (shaved ice), is amazing. Service is great and always friendly. Ambience is comfortable.

We loved our dinner at Parachute. It was inventive, fresh, delicious, and fun. It's a little pricey (wouldn't include it within our usual repertoire) - but we look forward to returning and bringing friends. Also, we didn't save room for dessert and we regret that.

The seafood and onion pancake was my favorite item and I'm already obsessing about when I can go back and have it again. The other most noteworthy part of our dinner is the truly exceptional service. Kudos to the staff.

Delicious cocktails and very fine Korean food (though the beef brisket soup was unexpectedly very spicy). However noisy, not very comfortable seating and way too expensive for the overall experience and food quality. It was a good experience but not very good or excellent.

Have been very excited to try this place for quite some time. Disappointing overall. Our server was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and the space was cozy and quiet. The food was average to good, which wouldn't be a problem if not for the high price point. If you want this level of food, you can pay half as much. If you're willing to dine at this price point, there are so many superior dining experiences in Chicago.

For starters the food is incredible. You'll have a meal here that you won't find anywhere else in the city. Ambiance if chill and laid back. Good for a date or a small group. The price is appropriate for the meal - you should expect to pay for quality.

Everything we had was delicious! The wait staff were right on top of everything and took their time in explaining all of the food and drink options to us. We had a couple of vegetarians at the table, and they were able to adapt several of their dishes to accommodate us.

Highly recommended. Definitely get the Haemul Pajeon (Korean savory pancake) and, if you can splurge, the Hwe—sashimi from fish sourced from Japan which made it a "must-have" for me. The mackerel was also excellent, but they serve the whole fish including the head and tail which some say are the best parts. But it's not for everyone. It is also bony. Bulgogi was just okay. We are looking forward to trying the pork dish next time. Cocktails were great, too. We enjoyed #1 (Damsoul Soju, etc) and #3 (Hamilton Rum, etc). Service was outstanding. We'll definitely be back.

Loved literary everything. Music, vibe, service and the food. The seafood pancake and bulgogi were exceptional. Loved the fish and strawberry gochujang. Sweet touch to have a menu printer with happy anniversary.
