Contemporary American
A fine dining experience like no other. Palace Arms is adorned with Napoleonic-era military prints and antiques acquired in post-World War II France, inclusive of a set of dueling pistols that belonged to Napoleon himself and golden eagles that topped the parade standards. Stunning stained glass windows align one side that are original to the hotel since 1892 while the private Independence Room showcases a wallpaper mural with pre-revolutionary America scenes that can only be found in The Brown Palace, The White House, and the Louvre Museum in Paris.

Debuting in 1950, Palace Arms has hosted a myriad of important events and V.I.P.s over the years, including Presidents Harry Truman and Jimmy Carter, Elizabeth Taylor, Lowell Thomas, and members of Pink Floyd.

Guests today can expect an award-winning wine program, high-end seafood, prime cut steaks, imported caviar, delectable desserts, clink-worthy cocktails, and much more.

Food was great ambiance was great. The booths though, the tables were too wide made it hard to connect with my GF. And the seat cushions made you sink into them and back into the bench which made comfortably eating not tough but not convenient. Everything else was perfect though, and the gripes above are small and nitpicky

We were given a gift certificate for the Palace Arms by my mother in law ( which came in the form of a Marriott card). We had a nice, if overpriced dinner. When we presented the GC,along with a credit card for the balance, a manager told us that the Marriott card could not be used for dinner. I know that my MOL purchased it with the exact purpose of dinner at that restaurant (she had always wanted us to experience it). I told the manager that, and he thankfully made it happen. Although the dinner was fine, I don’t feel that the ambience makes up for the exorbitant prices. Guests were not dressed appropriately- I would call it an okay experience.

Our server was great- overall service was a bit slow (almost 2 hours for dinner for 2 people at 8:15pm) but could be that (I think) the same kitchen serves all restaurants. I did not feel that the speed was the fault of our server. They want you to take your time and enjoy the experience. Note that there were plenty of open tables during our time slot. Due to the fact that the kitchen is on another level downstairs, our food wasn’t exactly warm when it hit our table. Overall food was good (a few dishes were very good). I was disappointed with one of our appetizers as it tasted like Campbell’s tomato soup on top of gnocchi with Mexican cheese blend and bacon bits. No seasoning. The winter lettuce salad, wagyu steak, and sides were amazing. Wine was excellent.

We were visiting Denver from the Cincinnati area and heard from many that the Palace Arms was a must! Upon arrival at The Brown Palace Hotel, we were delighted by the beauty of the lobby and enjoyed a few moments of the jazz combo playing before we entered the restaurant. The Palace Arms is steeped in history and the decor certainly reflected that! We started with a glass of Cava for me and an old fashioned for him along with the caviar and blini. A real treat! I ordered the salmon and the skin was perfectly crisp and delicious. His NY strip looked more like a filet very thick and boxy instead of long. He also had to send the steak back as he’d ordered medium and it arrived rare. Arrival of our first drinks took almost 30 minutes. We were told a server had called off. But our server did not charge for my Cava as an apology, and gave us a comp sherbet. The check came with two large and delicious chocolate truffles. Despite the bit of a service hiccup, we enjoyed the meal tremendously. I’d recommend for anyone looking for an elegant meal in a very interesting venue.

We have actually eaten here once before and the food was amazing. When we tried it again the service has probably the worst I have ever had. Our server was waiting on only 6 tables including us and didn’t get to us for over 25 minutes. The server in is area actually had to get us drinks. The manager had to bring us the bread cause our server did not, we never received the cavier we ordered. The food took 1.5 hours to come. The food was no where near as good as it was last time. We ordered lobes tee and it was over cooked and complained to the server but we were still charged for it even though my wife didn’t eat it. The server was awful. When the bill came it still had the lobster and the cavier which we needed got. When we asked for it taken off he didn’t even apologize. Dinner was 300$ which is fine but for the taste of food and the service it was Mabye worth 150$. I love how the place feels being in there and it may have been an off night but was not worth the money. I loved this place and was severely disappointed with how the food and service was. Don’t know if I would return after that. The server that was not ours and got us drinks even noticed we were waiting he was great so was the manager getting us bread but I don’t know how you can’t even get to a table in the first 25 minutes when you litterally have 5 other tables to watch.

From the website we checked the menu and decided what we would order, and made reservations. We arrived and were seated and found out there was a Christmas menu with only one item on the menu. This was not indicated on the website. We were then told that the one item on the menu would cost over 3 times the items on the regular menu. For 175.00 each, we thought this was ridiculous for Beef Wellington and left.

I booked our reservation for Christmas dinner a couple of months back and at the time there wasn’t a menu posted. On arrival I found out it was a set menu of Beef Wellington. My wife is vegetarian, when I asked what the alternatives were we were given one choice of Risotto. So we went ahead with dinner, overall it was fine. Then came the check At $175.00 dollars per plate plus a reasonable but still pricy bottle of wine and our final check was just shy of $500.00 for dinner for two. Im sorry but I felt really ripped off. We stayed at the Brown Palace last year for Christmas but despite being a guest and booking months beforehand they wouldn’t / couldn’t get us a table. We wound up eating one the Ships Tavern. It was really great for what it was. But this year and and dinner was Way Over Priced for what it was. We will never return. Its a beautiful old building with great service but thats not enough to justify $175 dollars per plate and of all things Risotto..

The food was good, the service mediocre and the value very poor. There was no indication of a prix fixe here on OpenTable or at the restaurant and we were not told about it until we sat down. While the food was good it was not worth the $500 for 2 people. Service was sluggish despite several tables being open. The ambience was nice and enjoyable.

It was like the hostess didn't want us to have dinner, the menu is not the same as online they don't have beef Wellington which was what both us had our heart set on, had I known probably would have went somewhere else

Excellent experience! We had the table side Caesar salad. Best Caesar salad I’ve ever had! The waiter was very attentive and nice. We were a party of 3, and wanted to try everything! We settled on a Wagyu steak, the Pork loin and the Chilean sea bass. It was all DIVINE! The detail they put into each plate is stunning. And then, dessert. That Bordeaux tart was the most amazing dessert I’ve ever had.

Denver native - first time at the Palace Arms. I am upset that I've never gone before (I'm 52 years old). We started with the ceasar salad made tableside and the steak tartare. I've had a ton of both from many places around the world and the steak tartare was among the best. The ceasar salad likewise. It was made with fresh anchovies and was perfect. I had the lobster and shrimp pasta alla vodka and she had the scallops. They were both cooked perfectly. I didn't check but I'm sure they have a professional chef on staff. Next time your'e looking for an upscale dinner think Palace Arms first! There are many trendy restaurants in the highlands area. I've been to a few. But seriously, this competes and beats most if not all of them.

A trip back in time to when dining out was a quiet, elegant and thoughtfully prepared event, that is this restaurant. Wonderfully interesting original interior, but very well kept and refreshed. Epic service, true professionals who clearly enjoy their work. Our food was beautifully presented, exceptionally flavorful and the highest quality ingredients. And who many restaurants still offer a Caesar salad prepared table side? This one does, and so many of the other dishes they serve are equally as classic and timeless. Treat yourself to a memorable meal and you will not regret it!
