We had heard great things about Onesto and have been trying to reserve a table for months and could never find an open table between 5pm and 9pm. Finally decided to reserve one, (a high top table being the only option) for earlier and arrived to find the place with many open tables. We inquired why and were told they were reserved for after 5. We didn’t leave until after five and the tables remained open. We were given lunch menus by the hostess (who was not welcoming in any way) but since our reservation was at 3:45 we were hoping to order from the dinner menu. Our waitress graciously allowed us to wait the 15 minutes to order from the dinner menu. The food was ok however all in all our dining experience was very underwhelming. To be fair the menu was for downtown dining week and may not have been representative of their normal fare

First time at Onesto. I had the bolognese and a classic old fashioned. The food was good but not great; my drink had way too many bitters. Last time I had bolognese was at an authentic Italian place in Carmel, Indiana, so I was looking forward to this dish. Service was a bit slow and it was a Thursday night with plenty of tables open, so not sure why we waited for longer than usual.

We really enjoyed Onesto! It took a little long to receive our drinks, but they were delicious. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli and it was phenomenal! Will absolutely be back when I'm in the Milwaukee area!

Wonderful evening! Great food, great service, great value! Couldn't have had a more perfect experience. High top table on the window was ideal for people watching. Ally was great. Lobster ravioli was dyn-o-mite. Complimentary birthday treat. Looking forward to a return.

Flowers on table needed the water to be changed, and all flowers were almost dead. They ran out of a couple of appetizers. Very inflexible with any special requests, and Resturant was not full. This was my 3rd time there and I think I won’t go back.

Was disappointed to find that their menu was different than what they have shown on their website, and the one item we wanted to try the most was not available. The food was good, but overall didn't feel like it was worth the price we paid. Will probably look for better Italian options before returning here. The drinks however were very good!

We thought the drinks were fantastic. I would say the cocktail diversity was lacking- in the fact they had similar ingredients. The food was very good. It was a bit pricey for the portion size. The restaurant was fine- nothing bad or good stood out. Service was ok. Our server was very nice, but they were working in too many areas.

Our server was very good. Knowlegeable on new menu items and overall offering. The meat & cheese board was unimpressive. There were more dried cherries and nuts than anything else. The carbonara was very good as was Bronzino. Bolognese was okay. Steak was awful - but it is a pasta house so... Better options out there for $$$$ Italian.

Dinner was delicious. Service was good although as the restaurant got more crowded we understandably got less attention. Although we asked, there was no table available outside the bar area. We were seated comfortably but the noise level was too high to easily have a conversation.

We’ve been to Onesto in the past for special occasions. Tonight was my fiancées birthday dinner. In the past we were blown away with dinner, tonight was not so much. The food was fairly tasteless all around. For the money, we’ll take our business elsewhere which is disappointing because this has been one of our favorites in the past. The service was great and the ambience as well. Only downfall was the food was tasteless and not worth the price this time.

I like this place. The food is very good and the ambience is nice. Each time I’ve been there however the hostesses have been kind of rude. That’s the first impression that a customer has walking in the door so might want to improve the attitude.

First time try of the highly recommended Onesto for lunchtime… it just fell short. Pasta dishes were good, and deserve the mention. - The entrée salad was bathed in a tasty but oil saturated dressing… the greens were drowning in oil. Stopped after three bites… To be fair I did not mention this to the wait staff to give Onesto the chance to correct. To that point, the waitstaff seemed busy, short staffed - it felt awkward to ask for anything - Answering questions on menu items seemed to be a bother. Just an awkward vibe - inattentive - no offer of water or coffee refills, etc… All servers seemed to be rushed, avoiding eye contact so as not to be asked for anything - it was an off day for this eatery, but it was my first snd last visit. You never know the behind-the scenes-situation - everyone is short on help - and those there are stretched - Perhaps on a different day it would match the great recommendations to dine here.

Enjoyed in the past, revisited after many years. Food good but not as good as I had remembered. Service was very, very slow and pretty sparse. Had to flag down various employees for assistance. Cocktails arrived basically with dinner and were mainly ice. Would give them another chance based on prior experience but not until checking out other options for Italian food.

The pasta was delicious and the service was impeccable. My only recommendation is to set aside an ice bucket to keep the wine cold.
