    It’s often hard to find somewhere comfortable to eat when travelling alone but OEG was great Server was attentive and friendly and knew the menu inside out Call me stuffy but the atmosphere has changed a little over the years and don’t be surprised if you end up dining next to someone in shorts and a vest - perhaps as business increases they may enforce some sort of minimal dress code and elevate the venue back to where it used to be Saying that, the food was fantastic and all the staff were all courteous and efficient

    Our family came to DC for college tours and museum visits and wanted an iconic DC restaurant experience. OEG checked all the boxes. Excellent food. Wonderful service. Amazing ambience. We sat at a booth in the back saloon which was a little louder but more cozy and fun. After dinner we walked to the White House and Washington Monument - seeing them at night was the perfect end to the evening!

    We lived in DMV for many years and would often stop for dinner after work. It's still good place to eat however seems the tourists have really found the place and now there are diners with babies and strollers. The front stand seems to get them in a more out of the way place. I do want to do a shout out to Sam at the bar. Watching him make my martinis was a pleasure. "Dinner and a show."

    Wonderful experience and honestly can’t wait to come back! Great service, wonderful fresh oysters and crab cakes , a delicious Bloody Mary, and one of the BEST espresso martinis I’ve ever had (and that’s saying a lot!) thanks for the wonderful brunch!

    It was perfect, except they used the first names for reservations, and someone with my first name took my reservation. I had to wait longer than usual because of that. Everything else was exceptional!

    Outstanding! We had a wonderful server who did a great job recommending items on the menu. Crab cake and calamari were excellent. The basil pasta was a hit as well. Very good cocktails

    This is a favorite for any visit to DC. The food is fresh, tasty and excellently prepared. The service is top-notch. The decor of the restaurant, with numerous themed bars, and fascinating artwork, is a delight. The prices are not cheap, but if you are looking for a splurge, this is a great choice. Make sure to make reservations early - hard to book prime times at the last minute, and the walk-in wait is excessive.

    Great crab cakes (almost as good as mine lol) and the clam chowder was good too. The mussels were the best we’ve had this side of the ocean. Will return.

    It is always a pleasure to go there. It is amazing how busy they are even at 3 or 4 in the afternoon! But because they are so busy, sometimes the service is not perfect in spite of the efforts of the staff

    We did a private nighttime tour of memorials for hubby’s 65th birthday - capped off the tour with a 9:00 pm reservation @old ebbitt grill - everything was fantastic! Food & service was worth every penny! So happy we chose this restaurant to celebrate - both the concierge & waitress wished my husband a happy birthday!

    Went for a special birthday dinner, bar busy and great atmosphere nice cocktail at bar. Seated on time helpful server made good recommendations. Loved the atmosphere in the room. All the food was excellent including a highlight of the tinned anchovies for me, a first for me. Price really excellent for such an iconic spot.

    This iconic restaurant is my favorite place in D.C. Always coming back whether I am in town for business or pleasure. This is the best place to enjoy fresh oysters. I highly recommend!

    We were glad to have reservations as it is a very busy place. Over an hour wait without. My salmon was terrific, my husband’s ribeye was undercooked but tasted great. The wine & deserts were also delicious. We would definitely recommend this restaurant

    Fantastic Old Washington, DC establishment. Tried and true menu items which delight everyone. Being from a landlocked state, I started with clam chowder, progressed to a half dozen oysters, and finished with a very (!) crab-laden crab cake. All of it was delicious. I’d go every night if I could. Our waiter, Kurtis with a K, was attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommend.

    Absolutely loved the atmosphere of this restaurant and the food was incredible! Must have the Oysters Rockefeller, the Crab Dip and please, please end the night with a slice of the Peanut Butter Pie! It was a great way to celebrate our anniversary!
