Neighborhood Services - Lovers
Friday - Saturday: 5:00pm - 11:00pm;
As with all Badovinus' establishments the food can't be beat and it's at an upscale, but reasonable, price. The downfall is front of house timing. Does not matter which restaurant you go to or what time your reservation is you are going to have to wait. If a patron was more than 15 minutes late for a reservation it could be cancelled and you're stuck waiting for the next opening. While this was one of the shortest waits it was still more than 15 minutes. Of course, "please get a drink at the bar" was quickly offered. When I feel I'm being forced to spend money that's the last thing I'll do, even though it's a cash cow for the restaurant. Every restaurant can have a busy night that causes delays but it is a regular occurrence with his places. It's too bad.
Always a solid. Great food, service, and atmosphere
Wonderful service, great specials, wonderful meal!
Consistently delicious and spot-on service. Great restaurant!
When a special occasion arises Neighborhood Services is always an option. This was our 55th wedding anniversary with invited friends. As always the food was excellent, the service staff knowledgeable and attentive without hovering or interrupting and the wine list excellent. It can get loud, but not enough to diminish the dining experience.
Food was excellent as was the service. We had been here before and the fare was as good as on previous visits.
As noted above, however, it was really noisy!
Great for a date night!!
The service was superb, food was excellent, and the restaraunt it self felt warm and cozy.
Service is always impeccable. Food is excellent. Can't get enough of their meatballs in voodoo peppercorn sauce. Awesome!
Party of five for dinner on a Saturday night. Our waiter, Paul, was great. Our order got separated somehow, so that three dishes came out and the last two did not. Once we alerted Paul, the general manager came and apologized and made sure that we got the rest of our food quickly. The Angrier Lobster was great. The scallops were fantastic. We always get the ceviche and have never been disappointed. Mixups can happen anywhere, but the key is how the restaurant handles the mixup. NHS handled it very well. We enjoyed our evening and will continue to dine here.
NHS is a great restaurant and has been since it opened, the food is always outstanding. They some standard items but the fish, meat, and noodle choices change frequently which makes it an interesting menu.
Love this place!
Great service and great meal. I had the redfish special with cheese grits and it was excellent. Sides of mac n cheese and Brussel sprouts were yummy. Tried a salty mousse cocktail before dinner and it's a great fresh drink. Split a bottle of wine and loved it! Overall great dining experience.
Service was impeccable as usual and the food was outstanding. We were celebrating my wife's 60th birthday and this is one of her favorite restaurants. They did not dissapoint. My wife had the Delmonico steak and I had the Kansas City Strip. Our friends had the strip and the Angrier Lobster. All of the meals were prepared correctly and tasted wonderful. We had oysters, crab dip and little fried asparagus for appetizers and they were all excellent as well. If you are looking for a great dining experience with great food and service I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.
The food was amazing and the staff was friendly and personable. Our server Chad was PHENOMENAL! He was extremely attentive and knowledgeable of the menu...explained each dish with such enthusiasm and detail. We will definitely be back!
Always reliable. The food is delicious and well-prepared. The service is great. We're so pleased to be close by.
Great local spot, high quality food without the strap price tag.
My first visit in more than a year and I was not disappointed. Bar service and drinks were on point. Table service was outstanding. My party of three arrived one at a time, but the server never missed a beat. Between us we had the swordfish, the seafood pasta special, and the fried chicken special. We shared the meatball appetizer, a side, and dessert. Everything was perfectly seasoned, fresh, and wonderfully prepared. Need to visit more often!
Terrific place; wound up being late for reservation but called and they were very accommodating. Waiter was great at not interrupting our conversation. Food was excellent and interesting drink menu.
The service is always outstanding and the food just as good.
Guaranteed to have a great experience at this location or the Preston/Royal location. The service is impeccable the food is always good. The menu is so diverse that there is something for everyone. Every bite is memorable!!
I love this restaurant! The food is fantastic, and although it is hard to find, that is part of its charm. It has the feel of a private club. Our guests were really impressed!
Super spot. Always the best food and service. Wait staff is superior.
Meatballs are so delicious and tender with very tasty sauce. I could make a meal of them alone. Best filet I've had in last 12 months. Guys loved the halibut too.
I had the blackened fish over grits. I adore grits but the fish's texture was far too soft for the grits' soft texture. Kind of mushy.
Excellent martinis and great wines by glass. My friend's filet was very tasty, as were the oysters and fried asparagus. Overall a very good dinner. Always like your servers too.
This is a very consistent restaurant with excellent service and always with a very creative menu. The food and atmosphere is excellent and is one of my favorite places to dine in the Dallas area.
First time to this location. Food was wonderful! I had tuna appetizer, butter lettuce salad, Red fish and grits special, and the butterscotch dessert, and everything was fabulous!! Highly recommend this restaurant.
3 words... Voodoo Peppercorn Sauce. I love that sauce and so did the rest of our table. The Delmonico was tremendous. The only downside was at 8:30 they were already out of the steak of the day and had 3 Delmonico's left. We took 2 of them. Sorry not sorry. I wasn't impressed with the Sangiovese by the glass, but we had a bottle of the Supertuscan and it was a good value.
If you are there for the first time, definitely try the meatballs. They are extraordinary.
Several friends recommended Neighborhood Services as a Dallas favorite but it exceeded my expectations. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Will be returning next time I'm in Dallas!
After all I had heard about this restaurant, I was really disappointed, particularly in the food. I ordered the meatloaf, their Monday special. It was like eating a brick - tough, overcooked and very salty. Certainly not worth the price. I don't think that I'll be making a return visit
Neighborhood Services has become a Dallas staple over the past few years and for good reason. The menu is wonderfully diverse with plenty of options for everyone. The cocktails are are varied and delicious and the overall atmosphere is energetic, fun, classy and clean. You won't go wrong picking Neighborhood Services as your next stop for dinner.
First time at Neighborhood Services. We made reservations for a Tuesday evening - a date. The place was packed! We arrived 5min after our reserved time and still waited 10min to be seated. Not a big deal, except there was no good spot to wait... it was either crammed behind the already busy bar, or in from of the hostess stand, which felt awkward for all parties involved. The poor hostess kept assuring us every 30 seconds that our table would be ready soon. It's cool, don't stress girl, we know it's being set.
We were seated in the middle of the dining room at a two top, two inches away from the next two top. Very NYC. Our server was super knowledgeable, gave us a rundown of the restaurant, the menu, and the specials. We both ordered seafood dishes from their specials. He got the scallops - they were really good! I ordered the sea bass, it was not so good. It didn't taste fresh, and it was drowning in a butter sauce. I didn't eat much of it.
Service was great, atmosphere is cool, the food left something to be desired.
We went for the first time for dinner on a Tuesday night. We were the first diners there and were seated back by the service area. When we sat down, I got a strong whiff of ammonia cleaning solution and thought it was a floor cleaner they used in the kitchen. We mentioned it to the waiter and he didn't seem to know the cause. I leaned over and discovered that our tabletop was the source. Apparently, they clean the tables with an ammonia-based cleaner. Not the best odor when you want to enjoy the smell of food. Anyway, we were pleased with our food - everything we ordered was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Personally, I find the setting a little claustrophobic - no windows and the lighting is a bit dim. The chef can definitely cook, but I wouldn't go back - too many other choices in Dallas.
Food and service were amazing. Acoustics were not great, so not advised for those who are hard of hearing.
We arrived a few minutes early and had a reservation, but still had to wait almost 20 minutes past our reservation time for a table. The restaurant is pretty packed near the bar area and there isn't a great place to wait (even though we had a reservation) so we were crammed in a corner. also, we were with someone who was 7 months pregnant and standing for that long with no seating. Don't go here if you want to sit down on time. Food was good, but I don't think it's worth all of the hype and waiting.
We were running a little late but Neighborhood Services still honored our reservation. We started with mussels which were perfectly prepared and served with toasted garlic bread to sop up the white wine and butter. We ordered the angry lobster and filet and both were delicious. I am pregnant but wanted a fun mocktail to enjoy on our date night. The server brought me a yummy grapefruit spritzer that was both beautiful and delicious. Overall, another great experience! The service is always impeccable and the food is always perfectly executed and really fresh. We have eaten here dozens of times over the years and continue to count it as a favorite.
We are always thrilled with Neighborhood Services. The food is always amazing and for a great price. The only thing we've ever had that we didn't love was the Funk Steak. Everything else is SOOOO good!
Had been to the Addison locatin but not this one. It was our 16 yr wedding anniversary and we thoroughly enjoyed our waiter, atmosphere, drinks, and of course the food!
Evening couldn't have been better.. upbeat mood, great wine, food and service!
