The year was 1943, and Jim and Alice Wimmer decided to take a big risk, buying a small existing roadside restaurant known for its char-broiled steaks. How fitting that in 2018, the restaurant's 75th anniversary year, the third generation of Wimmers, Amy Wimmer, takes the helm from her father Jeff and his wife Jane, bringing her own adventurous spirit to the Del-Bar, the same kind of spirit she so admired in her grandparents. Rich History • 75 Years & 3 Generations • Award Winning Cuisine While flattering comparisons to steakhouses in Chicago and New York are regularly made by visitors, Amy Wimmer still cherishes this restaurant, her family restaurant, as one-of-a-kind.

Over the top? Not if you want the kind of char that steak lovers dream about. Not if you want to serve a steak that has no equal. Welcome to the great steak of Wisconsin. The same dedication to quality explains why we deal with only the best seafood suppliers, why we procure locally sourced meats and produce whenever possible, and why we have created one of Wisconsin’s truly great wine lists. It also explains our insistence on providing the Dells’ most accomplished level of service in a truly comfortable environment overlooking the Wisconsin River.

Hands down the BEST fish fry around! Everything was absolutely incredible, from the appetizers to the pike perch and fish and chips, and don’t even get me started on the dessert! 🤤 Our server was so sweet and knowledgeable, and Simeon is always so welcoming and wonderful! The best part? Everyone at our table was already talking about who they needed to bring back to try the fish! That says it all! We will definitely be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
