Originally known as Phoebe's Garden Café, the restaurant has a long and colorful history in Syracuse. Local lore claims that the building was originally a brothel, and Phoebe was its madam. In the summer of 2004, Phoebe's experienced a refreshing makeover with a bright new look in the atrium dining room with fresh paint, new upholstery, and artwork. The coffee lounge also opened that year, and it became an instant hit with the surrounding university and business crowd. Those changes also warranted a new name to reflect the updated attitude and ambiance: Phoebe's Restaurant and Coffee Lounge. Classic elements of Phoebe's remain untouched—the French onion soup and enticing crème brulee, for example, but other menu items change seasonally. Took my hubby to his favorite place for dinner, Delmonico’s never disappoints. We’ve been to all of their restaurants and they are all great, especially when it’s your birthday we left with a complementary cannoli for the birthday boy . Which I am working on at home , yummy !

Our waiter Brad attended to every detail for each person in our party. He even added a bonus tour at the end of our meal. Food is consistently great. Bring your out of town guests here!

It was a lovely gathering for a study group of 7 women. We all enjoyed the ambiance, the great food and the friendly, attentive and knowledgeable server. We especially appreciate the special attention given to one of the participants who was having a birthday! I am sure we will all be back! Thanks for such a memorable experience!
