A Family Tradition For Over 90 YearsMrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes. Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers. A full-service bar, serving signature boysenberry-infused cocktails, is also available.Currently, we are following all government-issued regulations and seating is currently outside only.     After a movie, we decided to try the new North Italia at Los Cerritos. We had enjoyed dining at the Irvine location in the past. Our party of four had the opportunity to taste a number of menu items. Everything was very good. We started with the prosciutto pizza as an appetizer for the table. Delicious. My wife and I shared the Caesar salad next; very fresh and tasty. For entrees, she loved the tortelloni Al Pomodoro and I had the pork Milanese. It was very good. Our friends also enjoyed the salmon and bolognese. For dessert, we shared the brookie gelato sundae. It was more than enough for the four of us. We just dumped it all onto a plate and dug in. Our server Allison was amazing. She made excellent recommendations and checked in with us frequently. If you’re in the Cerritos area, try North Italia.

    Tea was nice. Some of the sandwiches had dry bread and the egg salad had onion in it. Desserts were good. It is sad that it is billed for 2 when some people don’t have 2 people in their party or a group of 7 or 9 cab’t be arranged. Music was not appropriate for a Christmas tea… should be Christmas music. Overall, it was nice for a one time visit, but not for multiple visits.
