Lebanon was owned by Italian immigrant Joe Atria and dates to 1930. It began as a grocery store, then expanded into a barbershop and dry cleaners. In 1933 prohibition ended and Atria's began to sell beer. Along came food to feed the hungry - both highbrow attorneys and blue-collar working men alike. In 1998, Pittsburgh natives Pat and Nancy McDonnell transformed Joe Atria's historical Mt. Lebanon landmark into an upscale casual restaurant that today serves up American classics in neighborhoods all around the Greater Pittsburgh Area

    Haven’t been to Mitchell’s in a bit but so happy I decided to return. Ordered 1/2 dozen oysters, meatballs, Caesar salad, crispy shrimp, shrimp cocktail, and a Hugo spritz. Our server Abby was very knowledgeable and sweet, didn’t forget a thing and had great recommendations. I usually get intimidated by larger oysters but she insisted they were a must try and I am so happy she did! They were some of the best oysters I’ve had, and definitely number one in Pittsburgh. Crispy Shrimp are also a must order in my opinion!! Will be returning.
