Great food. Really. GREAT FOOD. Second time dining here. Last time I sat at a table on the main floor. That space is chic and well designed. This time I sat on the second floor. It’s much less stylish. Food and service were still top notch but the 1st and 2nd floors almost seem like different restaurants ambiance-wise.
Wonderfully innovative and excellently prepared food and lively and modern atmosphere. We had the tasting menu which was fantastic, though had only hints of Moroccan cuisine. Our least favorite dish was dessert, which was not innovative and could have been made at any restaurant. Service was phenomenal.
Mourad has become one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco. We were a party of eight in celebration of a birthday and it turned out to be a very fun memorable evening. The service and food were both excellent! Can’t wait to go back.
Been here multiple times before but first time doing a tasting menu for my friends birthday. Was great food and great portions for the value of the meal. Still don’t know how this place only has one star, love coming here and the wine pairings were great too. A little loud but still a great atmosphere. We were upstairs and could look down into the kitchen. Was lots of fun, will be back for more.
Excellent dinner. Service obliging but uneven. Good wine.
Excellent food and service. Loved it! I definitely would return to try more dishes and bring in more of friends, colleagues and business partners.
Excellent overall experience, great waiter with full menu knowledge who made recommendations based on experiencing the signature dishes instead of just trying to sell up. The family style “l’acha” is awesome!
Excellent food. Really amazing! Super service. The complete package. Surprised they don’t have a Michelin Star.
Fantastic dinner, as always. Every dish made to perfection. Service was impeccable.
Thanks for sitting us upstairs next to the window overlooking the kitchen. It was fairly quiet and interesting watching the staff. Food and drinks and service were outstanding.
Amazing experience at a great price. Great service as well.
Four of us shared a delicious meal. The service was impeccable and friendly. The tables are spaced so you can hear
Waiter interrupted our conversation every time he came to the table. He lacked any self awareness!
Inspiring, creative and delicious food. Terrific Sommelier. Wonderful on all aspects.
We had the tasting menu and it was superb. Every dish was impeccably presented with such beautifully nuanced flavors and textures. The service was excellent. We’ve dined at some of the top restaurants in the SF Bay Area and this was the best experience we’ve had across the board.
First ding was seating us at a terrible table when there was another much better, unreserved booth available. Outrageously priced for how mediocre the food was. Small portions, and zero flavor. Our waiter couldn’t be bothered to take my husbands drink order, ask if I wanted another drink when mine was clearly empty, or even ask us once how our food was. The only pleasant parts were the ambiance, and the attentiveness of the bussers/those filling our water glass. Will not return or recommend
Great food. Great place to take clients and big family.
We dined at Mourad for our 30th wedding anniversary. It was the perfect spot for couples who enjoy excellent cuisine. The noise level – which is a hugh problem in today's restaurants – was low and the modern "materials-focused" decor is very appealing. Service is the highest order element for us when dining out. Mourad's staff and especially or server were second to none. Perfect service without a gap in any part of the experience of 2.5 hours. I especially loved the octopus appetizer, the salad with the heart of palm and a very spicy beef dish (I think it's the traditional one?). Much Love, Pete
Mourad does deserve the 1 Michelin Star as the food presentation was artistic and the food is delicious. The duck mousse was amazing, but the phyllo duck confit did not live up to its reviews, did not like, too dry. But the lamb loin was great and the sea bass so delicate and light it was worth every bite. Service was excellent. But for a Monday night, Mourad was packed all night, evidence it is very popular and good value and great food.
a couple dishes might be a bit too salty but overall a great place with really good value
We came to celebrate our anniversary. Everything about Mourad was elegant, delicious, informative, and the service with Justin was top notch. Thank you for making our night so special! Surely we will be back and will save room for dessert next time!
Pleasant enough, but one of the party was violently ill a few hours later, probably from fish intolerance, despite notifying the waiter in advance.
Love love Mourad
The food is incredible! We started with oysters and eggplant and loved both! For the main, we decided on sharing the short ribs... fantastic!! Perfectly cooked and seasoned!! Couldn't do dessert afterwards, because we were so full! Definitely recommend!!
My favorite restaurant in San Francisco
The food was excellent - the spare ribs were really outstanding, but all the dishes, including desserts, were top notch. The wait staff was so nice - they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to see to our needs. We were seated on the upper level, where the noise levels were minimal - our party of four could carry on a conversation and enjoy our visit with each other, and the ambiance was comfortable and inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent dining experience! Great presentation, delicious food, impressive wine selection.
Creative and exquisite menu with attentive and knowledgeable staff to match it.
I went into Mourad with Iron-Chef-quality expectations; and Mourad delivered on those expectations. Everything I put in my mouth was both Moroccan and otherworldly. I don’t think a bar has ever been set higher, and the guests I brought along with me were completely disarmed...
Great food, superior service, would come back
In a word, Incredible.
Basteeya, Spreads, and Merengue were favorites.
Fabulous fresh food and very creative. One of the most unique restaurants in SF.
Great meal with efficient and friendly service. Good cocktail and wine list.
My husband and I felt extremely special celebrating our anniversary at Mourad. The attention to details was impeccable. The food was fresh, well flavored and delicious. I can not wait to go back again. Thank you!!
The space and food are excellent. The service is aloof, inattentive, and disinterested. There are many more places you should prioritize over Mourad, particularly at this price.
We were a table of 4, and ordered 4 appetizers and 2 of the family style platters. That was more food than we could eat, and so qualified as a feast! Very good service table side, and I would go back in a heartbeat.
The food ranges from excellent to awe-inspiring. Elegant but informal. A joy.
Everyone loved it and had a wonderful experience! Food was outstanding! Will highly recommend to friends and colleagues!
I thought the weekend nes by the glass were overpriced and very skimpy pours
Mourad is elegant and the service is impeccable, but I go for the delicious and beautifully presented food. It is the perfect fusion of California fresh and Moroccan food. The menu options from options for an adventurous sampling, to hearty family style large dishes.
The fact that it is right around the corner from MOMA makes it a perfect date night spot on Thursday when MOMA is open late.
