   For starters, the salmon bite with thai-chilli sauce special and the regular menu Greek "Wedding" Salad - `Huh` - were both excellent. And, the wait staff did not mind letting us have that starter before placing our entree requests. For our entrees: the 2 guys had crab cakes with fries and slaw, one of the "girls" had fish and chips, but replacing the "chips" with the slaw, and the other lady ordered the prime beef BBQ sandwich, again sans fires but with coleslaw. First we all agreed this is slaw as we always thought it should be. Note - this was a tough crowd, three whose Mom made the "best ever slaw". The crab cakes with exceptional, excellently prepared and nicely presented with the fries and slaw accompaniment. The two guys savoring those crab cakes, well, not much talking from their perspective. Some of the best true "Maryland Crab" cakes in the region. You would think the ladies might pick up the conversation, but read on. The cod in the fish and chips - spot on! What we are always after is when you take your fork and push into the beer battered fried cod, you find both moist and firm fish that separates into those delectable layers that just melt into your mouth as your taste buds say Thank You. For those that know fish preparations, you understand. As for the prime rib sandwich special, we all heard a few "Oh My" and "Ahs". But before we three were finished with our entrees we looked over to the "Gal" who ordered the sandwich showing a big smile and an empty plate. Enough Said? We were tempted with desert, but being on the "older" side of the fence decided not to partake. One of the ladies regretted afterwards not having the bread pudding. Finally, the service was absolutely impeccable from the greeting to the wait staff, to the final farewell. There is nothing any of us would have changed. Thank you all - from the front of the house to the back part, and everyone in between.

   Excellent service!! This was a buffet brunch. Went to get food multiple times and half of the buffet trays were empty. No plates at one point. Only service that was lacking was the guy making omelettes and slicing beef. My wife said he wasn’t friendly and was not there (3 times) every time I tried to go to that station. It’s sad because the food I was able to get was excellent and the server was phenomenal. Not worth the money!

   We needed to get out early to attend an event and the server was very accommodating. Food came out quickly and was delicious as usual! The stuffed shrimp was superb! A wedding was taking place there and that did not cause any delays or disruptions in the restaurant.

    It was a gorgeous Spring day and the grille was packed. But our servers were so nice and so attentive that we didn’t mind having to wait a bit longer than normal for our meals. The lamb chops were fabulous! Always enjoy going there

    Shocked at how bad of shape this restaurant is in these days— it used to be really nice and we have been many times throughout the years and had great experiences. The only good part now is the view. The bathroom looks like it belongs in a dirty bar. The restaurant area is dirty and run down. Fried zucchini was tasteless, and the short rib in the short rib tortellini had the texture of rubber. Our bill was rang in wrong and everyone in my party woke up to multiple incorrect charges. The host and elusive manager were rude and unhelpful when trying to resolve.

    Upon arrival for our reservation, we waited for the hostess to return her desk and seat us for about 15-20 minutes, and we were about to leave. The servers saw us several times, and no one asked us if we were being helped for no less than 15-20 minutes. Once we were seated, the server assisted us within normal wait time, and she was very sweet and nice. Her name was Macy. The food was just ok. Nothing memorable or praise worthy. My husband ordered the Prime rib a little beyond medium well. However, it was a rare and flat in taste. Again, it's not very memorable! I ordered the stuffed shrimp, which looked amazing but the taste was just ok, bland, too much breading for my taste. We were celebrating our anniversary and if we did not have great conversation between us, the night would have been a bust.

    I made the reservation enough in advance that the request to sit at a round table by a window should have been met. They put us in a dark room by ourselves. The tables around us has not been wiped down or set. We were not offered bunch buffet, even though people were eating from the buffet long after we arrived at 1:00. The salads were large, enough to share and well prepared. Crab soup mediocre. Mini crab cakes fair. A little dry. Not that good. Desserts were the best choice. No toilet paper or paper towels in bathroom. Overall, Disappointed.

    Brunch ended at 1 o’clock and we had a reservation for noon. We got there, and the hostess acted as if we weren’t expected and tried and a high traffic location in the kitchen, even though they were better tables available. The Buffet was nearly empty, with dried up food in some of the chafing dishes. When I asked if they were going to put out food, the hostess, appeared annoyed. Our waitress and one of the busboys were nice and tried to be accommodating.

    I really hope we caught the restaurant on a bad day, but have gone to the restaurant many times in the past, but probably never again. We had reservations at 11:00, and when we arrived we were seated within a minute or so. Unfortunately that was the highlight of the experience. Another table was seated about ten minutes later and now both tables were now waiting for a server to greet them. The second table had a server in a bout 5 minutes, we had to wait till about 11:25 for a server to come to our table for our drink order. We gave our order and proceeded to the brunch buffet which was basically entirely empty. At this point, we decided to leave. It was after 11:30 and were looking at waiting several more minutes to have fresh food (which would not be replenished after 12:00 anyway.) We didn't get far. Outside the front door we found a woman who had tripped and fallen on the uneven walkway entering the restaurant. She had hit her head hard on the stone. We waited with her while a family member went in to get ice and inform the staff. Several minutes later the family member returned with ice in a leaky plastic bag and still no sign of restaurant staff. After some time, a manager?? showed up and medics were called. Really need to fix the walkway going into the front door.

    Restrooms were disgusting. I told hostess, she said that she would take care of it. In general the restaurant looks run down. We were seated between two tables that were never bussed so we had to look at tables of dirty dishes for the hour and half that we dined. A large group of employees were congregated at the hostess stand and could have cleaned the tables. Our granddaughter's chair had gross food spilled on it that we cleaned with our own wet wipes. Our waitress was ok and the food was just ok. Nothing to brag about. This used to one of our favorite restaurants especially for special occasions. Not anymore.

    We came for the brunch and were seated about 12:15. The pleasant server announced that we should look at the brunch before selected it as it was winding down and they weren’t going to replenish. Brunch is advertised till 1pm. They should probably align their house to match up to their food availability. I had a hamburger. It wasn’t my intention.

    This is by far the best value (and up there with the best overall) Sunday Brunch in the Baltimore metro area. There is a great variety of foods available (both breakfast-y and lunch-y) and some variation week to week that is appreciated. Bloody Mary bar is both well-stocked and inexpensive. The glass with vodka is delivered to your table and the bar has a good variety of fixings. I could frankly make a whole meal out of the bread pudding, if it wasn’t for all of the other great selections here. When they get busy (after 10:30-11:00), the waitstaff gets a bit stretched, but as a buffet that has a minor effect on the experience. Never had a complaint about anyone. Just go!

    We waited a little too long before the Server came over to us. When she did bring our wine, she spilled mine all over my pants, on my purse and on the floor. The food was just adequate as well as the service. I don’t know that we’ll be back.

    Friends dinner/birthday celebration - we’ve been going for the last couple years with the same group each February, food it delicious, menu offers lots of options for everyone, it’s usually quiet, staff is friendly!

    Food was very good but service was poor. Took a long time for waitress b to take our drink order. Had to send coffee back multiple times because it was cold. Asked for cream and it was never brought to the tables and no sweetener was on table. It a brunch so coffee should have been hot and plentiful.

    My biggest pet peeve when dining out is when entrees come out 30 seconds after soup/salads. That was the case last night. There’s no room on a table for 4 for all the plates and bowls and the entree is cold before you can eat it.

    Service initially great , then slacked off toward end of meal but very courteous; they looked understaffed. Crab cakes were big and very good, cream of crab , not so much; very little crab meat and broth was not thick enough and too much wine? Base. Cobb salad was average.

    We went to celebrate our 47th anniversary and were surprised that it was Restaurant Week. My wife got the RW Special of lamb chops. I got bone-in pork chop. Both were great and we were able to split the appetizer and dessert that came with her meal. The waitstaff was thin, with only 3 waitresses for the whole place. Although our server was very pleasant, she was definitely overburdened with tables. And our service suffered. We will definitely go back.

    We love Mountain Branch, but brunch can be hit or miss with more misses than hits as time goes on. Some things we love is the ambiance and the service. The food and drink are average. Some food was burnt, limited desserts and mimosas had very little alcohol. Dishes need to be cleaned better. We got a spoon with something on it and a coffee mug with lipstick. The server was appalled and took care of it immediately, but this should not happen. It was discouraging enough that I’m not sure we’ll consider Mountain Branch for brunch next time.

    Had a very nice meal. The tuna tartare was fresh, flavorful and delicious. The chicken chesapeake was a 10. Duet ( crabcake and lambchops ) were very good. Bread pudding was moist and decadent. The server Courtney couldn't have been nicer and more efficient. A very enjoyable night. Would definitely come back.

    The service was excellent- the food was fair- my tuna had very little taste and my husband’s stuffed shrimp - the shrimp was overdone and rubbery, the filling had little taste. The price was ok , but very little taste. We will not go back there.

    Looking for a place for spouse and I to spend a New Year’s Eve early dinner and wanted to go to mountain branch. There were only two time slots to choose from… either 1:45 pm or 2:00 pm, we chose the 2:00. We get there and I tell the host table for 2 without giving him the reservation name because the place was completely empty. He then asks if I have a reservation, again, the place was empty. For food selection, I was expecting a New Year’s Eve menu given the occasion regardless of the time and apparently that wasn’t ready yet. I got the crab cake platter and not a huge fan of coke slaw so I asked if that could be substituted for something of equal value in place. I was given options so I chose the fries. Found out at check out that there was a $6 up charge for that without being notified up front. Food temps were not freshly hot but merely warm. Ketchup given in small plastic containers appeared as if someone took a swipe out of one of them. I asked for a new one and that one was only pored from the one I given back…. Needless to say no ketchup for me. No sauces were given with crab cakes when I have gotten this before and tartar sauce was given. Would I go back… I don’t know. Crab cakes were tasty, bartendener made a good tequila sunrise but if you’re charging that much make it worth the price and I don’t know… maybe thank your guests for coming or say bye upon exit instead of ignoring. I’d go some place else before going back, especially on an occasion with my spouse.
