   Came as a part of a large group (9 people) for a restaurant club. They staff was wonderful, the food was amazing, and the drinks were on point. It was a wonderful experience and all in the group said they would definitely go back! Thank you for having us

   Excellent food, nice bottle of wine, excellent dessert, good service. Only MINOR shortfall? Coffee. Tepid at best. Then again, I don't think they even charged fo it. Other than that, meal was excellent.

   A beautiful Sunday in Richmond means brunch somewhere. I have not had a chance to get to Metzger for much and definitely glad I went here. The food is amazing and it was difficult to choose. So definitely plan on a return to try other items. The lamb tartare is absolutely amazing. The cocktails are top notch.

   This is our go to place when we visit Richmond. It doesn’t disappoint until this recent visit. They may have been short staffed. There were large gaps (maybe 30 to 40 minute) between drinks and food and then food courses. This may have affected one of the main courses — the pasta dish— as it seemed to have been sitting a while and became gelatinous. However the cocktails, first course (soft shell crab), schnitzel and dessert were great and what we always expect from Metzger. The server also seemed rushed other than when explaining the special of the night. Things happen but it would have been helpful to know if they were short staffed and that might affect service. That way our expectations would have been adjusted.

    Limited menu and almost no customization. Pork schnitzel was delicious but only served with endive salad. Couldn’t even get potatoes as a side to make it seem like a full meal. Pappardelle pasta with mushrooms was fabulous but very salty. Skate was good - again, everything seemed SO salty. Pavlova was ok.

    As always, an exceptionally fine dining experience at Metzger. On this visit, we enjoyed starting with the charred cabbage and the crispy sunchoke small plates. For our entrees, we had the pappardelle with mushrooms and the roasted duck leg with gigante beans. All were just outstandingly delicious. We had a couple glasses of pinot noir that greatly complimented the meal. For dessert, we had the berry pavlova...a wonderful way to end a fine meal. Nathan and his team are so very welcoming and attentive. They always make for a fine evening. Bravo and heartfelt thanks to all!

    One of our favorite spots in RVA! And this trip did not disappoint! The draft selection is limited, but smart. The cocktails are innovative, but approachable. And the food is always memorable! Make sure you save room for dessert. The staff were all kind and hustling and our bartender gave us some wonderful recommendations for some late night drinks afterward!

    As always, delicious! We came here with friends and ordered the veal meatballs entree as our appetizer, and they were able to add an additional meatball so we each had one! Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, great Saturday double date night.

    We sat at the bar, it’s a nice place, the pickled egg dish was decent, the rest of the food compares to another German place in RVA, perhaps even a notch down, it’s lighter fare. Couldn’t get over the fact the bartender just kept coughing and not covering his face, he was coughing into peoples drinks and coughing straight at people sitting at the bar, he even had a little bit of an attitude too! Wasn’t overall impressed with the place, it was disappointing, the coughing though… super unhygienic :-(
