Masseria dei Vini
Restauranteur Pino Coladonato, Peppe Iuele and Enzo Ruggiero have teamed up again with Interior Designer Libby Langdon, bringing you a modern update version of "Masseria". In the region of Puglia, in South Italy, Masseria were Fortified Farmhouses, and many of them now have been transformed into Restaurants or Hotels.
Executive Chef Pino Coladonato, native of Rutigliano (Bari), has created a menu that blends traditional with modern without overpowering one or the other.
The Menu features typical dishes from Puglia, such as "Crudo", the Italian word for "Raw", made with fish and shellfish, a lot of fresh homemade pastas and Ravioli.
The menu also offers Gourmet Pizza Neapolitan style.
The Restaurant offers an extensive wine by the glass program and a large selection of wine bottles, mainly from Italy, but without ignoring the rest of the world.
I don’t believe in “5 stars” for the vast majority of restaurants and the next best choice offered is “4”, so that’s what I’ll give it, but the food was outstanding and much better than 4. Really good pasta and apps, very nice room and decor, somewhat pricey but worth it.
Love this place. So glad I discovered it. Delicious Italian everything with friendly, knowledge and attentive staff. A great dinner every time I go so far...
This was my second visit to Masseria dei Vini and it was terrific again. The delicious food was thoughtfully and authentically prepared and the staff was friendly and attentive. The only issue we had was that my dining companion and I ordered 2 appetizers, 2 salads, and then shared a pizza, but they brought the appetizers and salads together. We dealt with it, but we assumed that it was obvious that we wanted them spaced out into 3 courses.
I have eaten in this restaurant three times over five years while visiting. Each meal was superb. However, it is not for the single diner, alas. As I often travel alone , that is very frustrating to me. I almost skipped it tonight in favor of a more welcoming scenario. I would have probably missed a great meal. The wine list is truly excellent!
I would definately recommend this restaurant. Nice service and great food
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Came with some out of town friends who said it was amongst the best meals they have had in Manhattan! Our waiter Mario was excellent, kind and accommodating! Will be back soon!
Special Birthday celebration. We all enjoyed the meal and service.
Upscale Italian with friendly professional service. Some creative dishes. Very good but not quite excellent food.
The ambience, the food, the friendliness of the staff, the cocktails were OUTSTANDING !!!!!! It is the BEST restaurant in the area !!!
Pork chop special was at top of class. hard to tell it wasn't a veal chop.....
Pasta's are amazing, fresh sauce/pasta.
Great service and waiter.
Always love this restaurant, never disappointed.
Wonderful service from start to finish - and the food was great too!
They do not serve authentic Italian food. Poor quality and too expensive
I was a little surprised when the pasta I ordered was very salty. They were very accommodating and professional on how they handled it. I like this restaurant will go back
Outstanding service, from the minute we walked in to when we left. Staff was very attentive but not overbearing, keeping the table clear, water filled, etc... Food was excellent, many wonderful dished to choose from, and was very pleased. My only "complaint" is that it is very noisy, making it hard to hear the others in your party. I think it may be because of the low ceilings, but it definitely is somewhat distracting
Service was slow, but the food was very good. Try a different restaurant if you are on a schedule.
Extraordinary restaurant with a magnificent staff. This restaurant is my secret. I hope not too many people find out about it. Excellent menu and great wine selection.
Our second time here and it did not fail to impress us. Our waiter, Mario, was attentive and extremely engaging. Great service and food. Our new "go to" restaurant whenever we are in this part of town.
Prices astronomical for the quality and quantity of food. Service slow. We will not be returning.
Another greta night...thx so much. Until next time. Barney
Authentic Italian quality ingredients. Food is very good. Pizza is outstanding.
All the dishes we ordered were excellent! Good service, high class restaurant but prices relatively reasonable
Terrific wait staff. It was a place one would enjoy eating at more than once as there were so many interesting options.
Had an early dinner prior to the ballet and location was great for this purpose. Service was professional and efficient. Food selection was more than adequate to cover range of guest tastes including vegetarian. Everyone was happy with their selections and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Masseria de Vini.
Love the food
The first outing in months for my Uncle recovering from leg surgery. He and my Aunt enjoy Masseria & introduces us to the restaurant.
Everything was fine except for the service. He never really took us seriously I guess cause we didn't look the type to go to such a fancy place. That kind of ruined the night. But the food ambiance and all was good.
Food is always hot and savory. Love the place. I eat early, by 6:30 pm, but by the time I leave, circa 7:45 or so, the noise level is pretty dense.
Our servers were attentive. The food was quite nice. The wine was very reasonable. The presentation was photographic.
I was expecting something special and there was nothing special about it. Overpriced, unimaginative first courses. My wife had an a second app. that she liked, I had a pasta bolognese with a tagliatelle that was essentially German egg noodles, and a sauce as clumsey as the noodle. It took 10 minutes to get to order our drinks before dinner. My second course arrived and I had to track down the waiter to get a wine list. I was halfway through my pasta before he brought a glass of wine without ever bringing the wine list. Strange, given there were 3 managers and hostesses on the floor. Too many generals, no army. Very disappointing night for $100.00 a head. Pretty clear they have lost their way.
I ordered an artichoke salad thinking that it would be a raw artichoke salad - i.e. Insalata Bianca. But it was marinated artichokes - my fault for not asking.
Then I ordered a grilled Dover Sole based on the waiter's recommendation. It was tasteless - probably frozen. But, to his credit, the waiter took it off the tab.
Overall, we were very impressed with the attentive care we got from all the wait-staff. But the food was not authentic Italian and very disappointing.
Birthday dinner before Jazz at Lincoln Center. Very attentive staff and ample menu! Quite liked it. Recommend!
Great new discovery for us! We will be back, soon! Food choices, Service from every member of the team, and Ambiance were each great!
Pasta I order was not home made.. very disappointed and for the money we spend.
Great service and great food and wine. What more can you ask for.
I love their Fritto Misto Del Golfo appetizer. All the meals I have had at Masseria dei Vini are outstanding.
Food is always great. Doesn’t matter what I order. However it is pricey.
The service was exceptional and the waiter was helpful in making our selection. The entree was perfect and the dessert was a great way to complete our dining experience.
Fabulous evening with my daughter. Food, wine, ambiance and service all exceeded our expectations. We'll be back! Loved all the homemade pasta options and the eggplant cakes were fantastic.
We love this restaurant. This is our 3rd time. Best food best service best value. We will highly recommend.also I will celebrate my birthday next week there.
One of my favorite restaurants - we always go to for special occasions.
