   This place has it all. Excellent food, good prices, friendly waiters, wonderful live music and a funky vibe as you sit overlooking the pool while watching “Blue Hawaii” on the screen. A pleasant, unexpected dinner.

   Love this place. It's our favorite restaurant. Must have the Smoke ahi toast, Ahi tartare, Au crudo (blue marlin), whole fried fish. Their drinks are awesome too.

    Love Mahinas—food was good, I’d like another salad choice as kale was tough, but everything else was fine. Excellent pasta dish and others liked their chicken and pork. I’d like the addition of a fruit dessert—pie, cobbler or tart perhaps? All in all, a nice meal. Music was a bit loud for dinner conversation.

    We loved everything about our evening. We had not been at the restaurant since pre-pandemic days and quite candidly, it was one of the best dinners that we have had in quite a long time! We can't wait to return.

    My wife and I enjoyed our dinner so much! The Mahina & Son's folks were so genuine and friendly, and the avocado tacos, Margherita pizza, and hand-cut pasta were excellent! Our server Lauren was so nice and professional. Awesome vibe and nice poolside atmosphere. Highly recommended!

    Excellent service and brilliant food. Quite difficult to find but just go into the Surfjack hotel and you’ll find it. Great live jazz accompaniment

    Mahina & Sun’s did not disappoint! We had an incredible experience- the fun poolside table with an awesome music duo that were great background music. Alison our server was great ~ attentive and super knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients. We celebrated our Anniversary ~ they greeted us with champagne!! The food is the shining light here, so fresh and unique. Avocado tacos, Kale Salad , Seared Ahi and the Banana Pudding!! Incredible !!!

    Very laid back atmosphere in small hotel dog friendly. Now the food was off the hook delicious definitely a local gem Priced very reasonable and just a quite atmosphere to enjoy

    Everything at Mahina and Sun’s was amazing! We had a great date night. Allison, our server, did an amazing job. The food was so tasteful. You could taste all the flavors of each ingredient. The farm to table concept was very evident. The manager, Elan, was so personable and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to go back again!!

    Iocation is a tiny bit off main path, but we were very impressed with our delicious food! Great menu, and we were all very happy with our meals. Would absolutely recommend! We were 2 adults, 2 kids.

    An amazing meal with incredibly nice service. A wonderful bonus was the talented live music. We had such a special meal together that we used Open Table to book again for the next night.

    Fantastic. Such a great find, off the path of chain restaurants that sometimes dominate Waikiki. As a foodies that seek out interesting, delicious and vibrant menus this place checked all the boxes for us. Love the vibe. Favorite dishes on the menu were the crudo, octopus, and ono. All fab. Our kids had the pasta with ragu (which was to die for!). Highly recommend.

    You have to get the family style meal here. The fish is perfectly moist and flavorful. We were happy that red snapper was the catch of the day. The sides a great accompaniment!

    I only had few appetizers here and they were good. The octopus appetizer was tasteful but was almost missing the octopus. The ahi tuna toast was very good and so was the pomegranate kale salad. Definitely, skip the pizza. Their Negroni was awesome! So if you want to have few drinks, great place to stop by.

    We labored to find a table for 7 people on short notice and we stumbled upon this establishment. Ratings were high and so we booked the reservation. Let’s just say that the the food exceeded expectations. Many people within our group felt that the pork chop and seared ahi were the best meals they had in Hawaii. All of us are definitely returning!

    What a great meal! We splurged on the family style meal and it was spectacular and way more food than 2 people could eat (but we tried really hard). Some favorites: the Serrano romanesco sauce with the fried whole fish, the potatoes with the aioli (how can potatoes be that good ?!?!), and the banana pudding. The live music was wonderful too! Would definitely come back.

    Although we went early for dinner, they were out of a whole bunch of menu items. The QR code menu on phones didn’t work for some members of our party and it’s not accessible for folks with vision problems, which made things challenging to order. The food we did receive was good, but at this price point it didn’t give us the nice dinner out experience we were hoping for. We left feeling disappointed.

    I had a great time w a few of my sisters in Christ, fellowship and dinner. Great music in the background, not loud so we didn’t have to talk over or loud to hear each other, it was perfect. The food was AMAZING! I had the Ribeye Steak 🥩 A couple of my sisters ate the Swordfish and the other Crusted Ahi. WOW 🤩 we were all very impressed w the meals! Super tasty and filing. Then we all had the Banana Pudding. Yummerz!!! It was light and super tasty!!! I am definitely going back for the He’e salad and the Deep Fried fish!! Rate 10/10!! Yes!! Enjoy!!
