   The food was very good and made with quality ingredients. We went on a Saturday night and unfortunately some dishes were out of stock. I also didnt care for being served a slice of bread piece by piece, I'd rather have had a basket left with our table so we could eat at our own pace. The server was very kind though. The french onion dip was incredibly small and overcooked and very overpriced. The crab cakes were amazing! In all, it was a fun and loud neighborhood experience with some very nice food, but a little pricey. Would have loved to see more pescatarian or vegetarian options.

   Wow! From start to finish this place delivers to all of your senses. Incredible decor, a subtle but appropriate soundtrack, and the food! I recommend doing a tour of the menu; appetizers, a special plus and course from their in house menu…..and of course a cocktail or two. The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and easy going. This was an anniversary dinner; and I’d like to thanks L’Opossum for making it a memorable one.

   I usually come with my girlfriend every month or so. We love trying everything new thats available. My parents are both picky eaters but I like to bring them here because theyll try some new things. This menu always has choices cooked at a level unlike anywhere else.

    Excellent meal. Dined at the bar, and Sam did a great job. I’ve got a gluten sensitivity, and they were very accommodating. Even replaced the bread course with some of the best tortilla chips I’ve ever had. That wasn’t expected. Starters, entrees, desserts and drinks were all excellent.

    This is the best restaurant in the Richmond area. The food is more than wonderful (try the Swellington) and the service is great. We've eaten there several times and would whole heartedly recommend this to anyone. YUM!!

    It's tough to get a reservation here, but absolutely worth the trouble. Extraordinary food and drink, delivered by extremely knowledgeable and adept staff. I prefer tables where I can see some of the efficiency of the tiny kitchen. The atmosphere is very casual, which makes it easier to focus on the presentation and quality of the food.

    First time dining here and certainly will not be my last. It was an experience of being somewhere unique, funky, interesting and artsy. It was fun and whimsical. The dishes were creative takes on French cuisine. Even the names of the dishes were clever, funny and entertaining, with the double entendres and broken French phrases. The execution of the dishes was spot on. The take on the Beef Wellington was creative. The seasoning was well balanced, and there was so much depth of flavor, especially with the sauce, almost the texture of a demi gloss. The crème brûlée infused with a hint of lavender was delicious, balanced by the sweetness of caramelized sugar shell and the citrus of the strawberries. The bread pudding was delicious and interesting to eat - so many textures and components. The decor is eclectic, but clearly highlights the male form. This restaurant is not for the stuffy, conservative diner. The servers were friendly, very knowledgeable and prompt. Great service. If you seek delicious, interesting, creative fine dining in a vibrant, lively artsy setting, this place is for you. I plan to return soon.

    It's really lovely and romantic! Unique design/ layout. The food was excellent and seemed fresh/ real. You could tell it was possible homegrown vegetables that were very fresh. Enjoyed the pork dish a lot. It was very rich and tasty.

    My husband and I celebrated our son's birthday at L'Possum. We sampled many appetizers, main courses and desserts. All of which were delicious! The ambiance is cosy, easy to have a good, quiet chat together. Service is excellent...It was a perfect evening...

    I really can't say enough about our outstanding experience at L'Opossum last night. We come down from Northern VA once a year just to eat at this amazing restaurant. It never fails to surprise and delight us. The whimsical ambience that immediately welcomes you as you walk through the curtains at the entrance, lets you know that you are in for an unforgettable evening in the expert hands of David and his incredible Sous Chefs along with his wonderfully professional, knowledgeable and discreetly attentive wait staff. The delightful decor alone, is a feast for the eyes, and from the witty descriptions of each offering on the menu, to the pretty patterned plating of each exquisitely crafted creation that comes from the kitchen, you will be surrounded and seduced into the sure knowledge that you are about to have one of those meals you will tell everyone you know about. And even people you’ve never met. Like I’m doing now. And all this happens before you’ve had one drink or put fork to lips. And once you do, you will be transported into a tantric journey for the taste buds that just.. keeps... getting better with each bite. The plavlist that seems to be at that perfect volume that allows for appreciation, as well as conversation, somehow adds to the magic of the meal, and is one other example of how this kind of attention to detail, can elevate an experience to absolute perfection. The magical glowing globe lighting, and oil based flickering tea lights, help to further envelop and enchant your senses, as each course is expertly paced and placed before you. Chef David even surprised us with a complimentary and exquisitely plated Foie Gras! Seared and surrounded with a magical melange that just melted in the mouth. I could describe each dish in detail, but my true hope is that this review inspires anyone who reads it, to make a reservation and experience this decadently delightful restaurant for themselves. We already can’t wait to return!

    This was our third time eating here since they opened. We shared 3 appetizers and 4 entrees between 4 people. I have never had a better dining experience anywhere. The food was fantastic, service was excellent and the decor is awesome. Can’t wait to come back!
