   Belated anniversary celebration. L’Opossum did not disappoint. Intimate atmosphere, knowledgeable and attentive(but not intrusive) waitstaff. Escargot was cooked to perfection. We had the stuffed quail and Jamaican chicken. Both excellent. No pics as we chose to savor the experience and enjoy each other’s company. Highly recommend L’Opossum.

   We had a wonderful experience dining at L’Opossum. It was a special occasion as we were celebrating our 24th anniversary. Everyone was so attentive. The manager greeted us at the door and took time to talk with us. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the food and specialty cocktails which were absolutely delicious.    The staff was amazingly attentive, food was fabulous. We sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed interacting with Sam, the bartender. Everything was fabulous. Love the eclectic decor and clever names for everything on the menu! Even the music was spot on.

    Our waitress, Susan, did an excellent job in guiding us through the menu and the specials. We followed her recommendations for both of our appitizer selections and in my case the special entree. The food was delicious !

    This was easily the best meal I have had in my entire life. I booked this trip to come down from NYC and visit friends in RVA based around the first available reservation I could get. The meal was exceptional. We tried just about every appetizer, we’re sharing our entrees among the four of us because of how good they were, and took a whirlwind tour of the cocktail menu, before sharing as many of the deserts as we could handle. The staff was gracious and accommodating, could not have asked for more, especially tolerating the wide swath of food we ordered. We were there for three hours and I can’t imagine there is a better way to have spent that time.

    Our meal at L'Opossum was excellent, the waitperson was very knowledgeable about all the menu items and stayed attentive throughout the meal. The cocktails are imaginative and fantastic, the appetizers very satisfying, and the entrees perfect. We even had dessert (creme brûlée, very fine). Go and enjoy!

    The entire experience was spectacular! From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with warmth, a sense of excitement, and pure decadence. The staff was the epitome of professionalism. The food speaks for itself. It was hands down the best meal I have had in the city of Richmond. This place is worth every ounce of the hype it carries.

    Love L”Opossum! Quaint restaurant with an eclectic atmosphere, not stuffy at all. The food is incredible. We started with the French Onion/fig dip appetizer. So good! We all got the same main dish (filet “Swellington”) OMG…if you enjoy a filet, GET THIS DISH! Service is paced..you don’t feel rushed at all. My husband got a chocolate dessert and my son got the Lavender Crème Brûlée. He said it was “ok” but would get the chocolate dessert next time. Overall a wonderful meal!     Last minute dinner stop. I managed to get a bar seat. The food and experience is as good as if not better than before. The venison carpaccio and grilled Ceasar salad were way better than before showing the continued dedication to excellence

    The food is absolutely superb. I started with the escargot, which was very good, just not the best I have ever had. My wife started with the Faberge Egg, which she pronounced superb. My entree was the filet mignon, which is the best I have ever had. My wife's entree was the vegan dish, which she absolutely loved. For dessert, I had the lavender-limoncello creme brûlée, which was heavenly. My wife had the Devil's In The Detail, which was also out of this world. The restaurant has a $30/bottle corkage fee, which allowed us to enjoy one of my best wines from my wine collection with our wonderful meal. Only problem with this restaurant is that it is so hard to get a reservation.

    Dinner at L'Opossum is an experience not just a dinner. The setting is amazing and very fun. The Filet Swellington is the best steak in our experience compared to many other leading restaurants. The crab cakes were fine but not the best in the city. There is enough variety in the menu to find interesting options. We had a terrific time and will definitely return for special occasions!

    We had the most delightful evening. I’ve had reservations for a few months and my husband unfortunately was unable to get back in town in time. My daughter joined me instead and we had the most amazing time. The food was exceptional, the service on point and the whole vibe was perfect.     An amazing evening. True, gastronomy. La’Possum is tough at times to get into for a reason. It’s phenomenal. The menu is filled with so many thoughtful choices, always beautifully executed, it’s hard to choose. I can give nothing but praise regarding the epicurean experience. The vibe is phenomenal, the bar, funky, and please take time to look at every nook and cranny of the restaurant. The detail is amazing. And again, the food! we shared the special of the evening, softshell, crabs, and the beef’ S’Wellington. Heaven. The entire team and chef, David, Shannon need to be praised. Everything was orchestrated beautifully, and it was a truly memorable event.

    I've been wanting to visit L'Opossum for years at this point and jumped to make a reservation when I could. The ambience and setting is so unique. The menu is just as unique with a variety of different dishes on a smaller menu. While the food was very good, I personally didn't receive a kick to the taste buds as high as I initially thought I would. Will definitely be back at some point to try other items and hopefully be blown away. Prosecco was fantastic.
