For a suburban location with limited competition, this restaurant delivers a decent value. Food is not memorable, but it is honest and wholesome. Service is exceptional and lasting, in a very pleasant ambience.
We started at the bar and the bartender created a special drink for us. The Lasagna and Gnocchi were outstanding.
Ambiance is low because the tables are sooooo close together!
Excellent food and service.
Our third visit. First two were marvelous. This last visit, the beet salad flavor was lacking intensity, chicken was a little dry but tasty. Gnocchi was under cooked but good flavor. Sea bass was wonderful, with delicious vegetable, so many that they came on an additional plate. This was not the best visit, but even at its lesser performance, Ravello is worth trying. We'll be back.
Friends in town.
Came a little early and was seated immediately. Ambiance was nice but the lights were a bit too dim for me. Was having dinner with my mother and sonlight for the evening. We enjoyed our meal. I would definitely return and recommend this establishment. I most definitely anm looking forward to coming back on a warmer day for a nice meal outdoors.
Appetizers were great and service was good until our main course for my wife and I came out 45 minutes after our kids got their dinner. Unfortunately that ruined the expierence.
We drive an hour to dine, since Locanda Positano in San Carlos had closed, (now reopened in new Lafayette location), so we savor every meal! We ordered a beet & buratta salad, a special seabass and Mama Carmela's family recipe for Satrozzapeti Pasta with Sausage, which are all highly recommended. We saw an amazing pizza for next visit, called Sofia Loren - piled high with burrata, san daniele prosciutto, arugula, eggplant, artichoke, zucchini...another tip is the Basiltini, which is really delicious but can't if being designated driver for the night. Grazie, Enzo, you're such a warm & gracious host!
Our waiter was amazing especially when one friend chose the wrong drink and later one chose the wrong meal. The waiter was very patient and brought additional items to assure they were happy.
This review is for a lunch. Both of us had the Panini Meatball sandwich, which was served with soup or salad. The portion was generous; the taste, very flavorful; and the price was right.
Excellent Food. I had the octopus salad and seafood risotto and both were very good!
I went here to celebrate my birthday dinner and had a nice time. The wait staff had to move our group around which was partially our fault since one person from our party didn't show due to being sick at the last minute. They ended up seating us at a tight fitting table for a party of 6 near a drafty door. They immediately started us off with a complimentary pizza to compensate for moving us. The waiter was very attentive. The owner is very friendly and went out of his way to communicate with our table just the right amount of times. The food was great. Overall it was an enjoyable experience. I will definitely go back.
A lovely restaurant that transports you back to Italy without having to jump on a plane. Food is authentic, the servers and all the staff are attentive and accommodating. They are very efficient with big groups. We are locals to the community and it is a very nice place to have in our town. Our family loves the food.
Always great food, service and ambiance. In warmer weather the outdoor patio is fabulous.
The wait staff is very professional and friendly! They always try and accommodate us. The food is amazing! One of our favorite spots.
Food is consistently good. Great pizza and Panini. Salads are nice entree sized and not overly dressed.
The small donuts with Nutella are a nice sweet treat to share.
I have dined here several times. The pizzas are excellent as are the salads and pasta. The service is also excellent - friendly and efficient. We will return again and again.
Superb dining experience. Staff is fantastic and the food is exceptional.
Always love Locanda! Sunday lunch, same menu with several specials. All delicious! Had asked for sparkling water, and they only brought one bottle at a time for a party of eight. We drink a lot of water so we had to grab folks to get more on a couple of occasions. Our lunch lasted two hours, with appetizers and charcuterie plates, and entrees and dessert, so the main room had cleared out by the time we finished and they started taking down their Christmas tree and sweeping floors. Thought that they should have waited. Other than that, wonderful as always.
The food was okay, not great. The service was good but very slow. It took an hour before we received our lunch and none of us ordered anything out of the ordinary. The tables around us filled up and were fed before we got our entrees. One of our group ordered a cocktail and watched as the waiter went to the bar area and started cleaning up and clearing things before he made the cocktail 20 minutes later.
Friends and neighbors have been telling us to eat here for months. It's a bit further from our house than we like to go for dinner but decided that Christmas Eve would be great. We arrived a little early and they sat us right away. We thoroughly enjoyed our food, wine and dessert and will come back again.
Great as usual. Fritto misto appetizer and antipasti plate were abundant and delicious. Entrees (gnocchi with wild boar, eggplant parmesan, pollo Milanese, spaghetti carbonara) were perfect. Only frustration with this restaurant -- and this has happened multiple times -- is that in the winter one needs to wear a warm coat in the dining room because the exterior door opens right onto the dining room and cold air blows in. They should consider installing a heavy curtain or something.
It was fantastic! Would recommend it to anyone who wants an authentic Italian meal!
Love it every time!
We had a great time. Never felt rushed I would go again. Food was really good.
Fantastic food and service as always. They accommodated our special requests for particular items and substitutions.
Excellent food, great ambiance, great service. Beautiful
I guess going on a Friday was a mistake. Wait staff was ok, services was ok, food choices limited and special was not very good including several dishes served luke warm. Waited to seat us until entire party arrived (which was very close to reservation time) then said we'd have to move if we wanted to stay past 8 because a "private party" was coming. That private party turned out to be two parties of 6 that would take up two tables in a 4 table location. Underwhelmed and I think people like it because its trendy and they are sold by wait staff that speaks Italian and calls women "bella".
Lively and pretty ambiance, great waiters and delicious food. My friends and I had a wonderful time at Locanda Ravello and we will return!
I love this place, best restaurants in Danville and one of the best Italian restaurants in the bay area. The service is phenomenal and the food awesome. Reminds me of my Nana's cooking, very authentic. Wish I could eat here every night.
Another fantastic dinner at Locanda! This place never disappoints; happy hour cocktails, mama Carmela’s meatballs, pizza and pasta. Our favorite!!
Love the friendly efficient staff. They were so nice about encouraging my attempts to converse in Italian!
The food was fantastic and it was authentic Italian food. The pizza was really good and the misto fritto was fried perfectly with a small green salad that was very tasty. We ended the meal with a cappuccino that was the best
Service was good but the food, meh. Oh wait the meatballs were very good. I had linguine with clams and did not really care for it. My husband had the gnocchi, blah. Cute location is the best I can say about the experience
Hi - the service was great but the food was mediocre. Several of us ordered the special lobster ravioli - it was very bland. One ordered the special sea bass, also very bland. Pretty noisy restaurant. Not sure I'd go back any time soon.
When you go to Locanda Ravello you feel like family! Antonio, Enzo and Rafaele make it an amazing experience! The food is so delicious and the service is very attentive! It’s our favorite place in Danville and we highly recommend it!
Early dinner for friends bday. Beet salad delicious. Eggplant a bit mushy and salty, bday girl got the carbonara, okay but not terribly hot and a bit pasty. Probably would have had additional beverages and/or dessert but service, while very friendly, was not terribly attentive.
Okay, would try again, perhaps an off night.
Very authentic Italian food. Would definitely recommended
