Had a great New Year's Day 1:00 p.m. brunch with a couple each of Benedict's and corned beef hashes. The only thing weird was the bloody Mary which seemed like it was just made with vegetable juice, vodka, and lacked flavor. You would think a place like Spencer's would have a signature bloody Mary that would be great, not the case yesterday.

We came in for a birthday and it was lovely. The staff accommodated our seating request and they gave us a very sweet signed birthday card. Our server was Ashley. She has been my server multiple times before. Her service is 10 stars, every single time. Urban putt has two chefs on site, one is a former chef at a Michelin star restaurant. Their food is evidence of that. I live very close to urban putt and dine there frequently with my nine year old daughter. I absolutely love their tacos, my roommate loves their chicken wings, and my daughter loves their chicken tenders and sliders. There is no cocktail on the menu that isn’t worth trying. This is a Hidden neighborhood gem, and the restaurant is an even better kept secret. Highly recommend.

We knew it was going to be a ‘special occasion’ meal at our means but I honestly thought the bill was going to be 1.5x what it was for how good it was. So many incredible flavors and little tilts and twangs making everything unique. Each our heads popped up on a first bite and went ‘what the hell was that?!?’ followed by a smile in the best way. Well worth it. Wish we could have ate the entire menu twice over, but the personal favorites: the pork belly (we got two of these they were so good), a-5 wagu / shiitake toast, sauerkraut / sourdough roll biscuit things, ice cream sandwich, and mostly the trout main (I have never had trout as good, so perfectly cooked it takes itself apart more beautifully than salmon and tastes 2x as good). The meal was so good I bought the cookbook and got to keep the menus as mementos. What a special evening from these fine folks, didn’t know we were walking into such a special place! Extremely recommend.

Parking was SUPER easy since there is a clean, safe, secure garage attached to the restaurant so little worry of break ins while dining. It was good. I had an espresso martini made w Scot h that was a REVELATION!! Rich and multi-layered. Yum, yum, yum! Don't get the heirloom artichoke. It's uninspired: just boiled/steamed and served with a massive amount of dipping sauce. The artichoke needs to be seasoned, or better yet, just grilled w olive oil, sea salt, and a squeeze of lemon. The fish and chips was excellent. I'd order the halibut again bc it was nicely cooked (halibut is easy to mess up and it was perfectly prepared). We had a great evening here. We were lucky to get a window seat, with the best views. Food was excellent, although, as others have said, misses out by not finishing on a sweet note - even a small chocolate truffle would have sufficed in the fixed price menu. Service stuttered at the start with drinks arriving too slow, and again a small amuse bouche would have got things off to a better start. However, once we got going we thoroughly enjoyed the food we were served, although I'm not convinced this would have a Michelin star if it were in Europe, but that seems to be common in the US as other Michelin starred restaurants I've been to have also left us underwhelmed. Given the context, we thought 4/5.

Always a good choice but best to go with friends and family who are not picky eaters so you can explore all the flavors. Top of our list include the three cheeses, tomato bread, and olives. For dinner- all the vegetables but memorable were the cauliflower and asparagus . Our fellow diners ordered the DC Paella- a must to feed a crowd of 6 and very filling. Been here 3-4 times and have always been happy with the experience. This time it was just my wife and I and we had a quiet dinner. The view is great as you are on the 30th floor and can see ocean and city in a panoramic setting. We shared a loup de mer fish which was grilled prepared in a delicious sauce with clams. We had garlic rice, broccolini, and mushrooms on the side. Our server (Danielle) was excellent and made the meal all the better since we didn't have to wait or ask for anything and she was friendly, knowledgeable, and provided great service. All in all it was a good night out and we will continue to come here in the future.

While the food is visually beautiful at Kin, overall we felt that they were trying too hard and didn't quite hit the mark of an excellent tasting menu experience. None of the dishes hit the "oh my God, this is amazing" mark. There seemed to be too much going on in the dishes,, too many flavors and/or ingredients. The closest dish to this was the dessert, a kind of a Pavlova with fall fruits. The non-alcoholic beverages were very good, but again there were a lot of flavors competing for attention. The good news is that, compared to LA or NY prices, Kin is very reasonable for a very good dinner.

We had a wonderful and relaxed dinner on Jan 1st after a few days of crazy work. Our waiter Alek provided us with polished, friendly and unhurried service which allowed us to decompress and enjoy our cocktails and dinner. The food was incredible as always, fresh, creative and a perfect blend of flavours complemented the main protein of the dish. We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent. Every course was delicious and visually pleasing. The bread service was delicious with the sugar cane butter. We had crab beignets and boudin appetizers followed by the short rib with lobster and pork chops. Couldn’t resist trying the crème brûlée bread pudding and it did not disappoint. We were celebrating our 29th anniversary and they really made our anniversary dinner special! We will definitely be back!!!

The fried chicken hummus was absolutely fantastic… And definitely qualifies as a main course. We also shared the Mediterranean salad… It was delicious. My husband followed it up with a Sherman kebab… Though we were very full by that point, and definitely could have left that off of our order I have the moose for dessert which is lovely. Celebrating 22nd anniversary of our first date. Toups has been on our “to do” list for a long time. So glad we finally got to try it. We had several appetizers and small plates and shared the rack of elk as a main course. Portion size on the main course would have been disappointing if I hadn’t had all the other stuff but everything was delicious.
