I’ve been to Judges a couple of times and had the set course lunch menu. So, I thought I’d try the a la carte evening menu. Lovely ambience in the conservatory dining area. Most tables were occupied. The soft shell crab was slightly underwhelming and I’ve had better. The beef medallions were lovely, however the dauphinois potato was stodgy and like eating a slab of cake. The blue cheese sauce was too runny. The calves liver was nicely cooked. The service was good but a little hurried. Overall, it is not cheap £412.00 for 4 people. We all had three courses, liqueur coffees, 3 bottles of wine and 4 g&t’s. The service charge was £45. I would go back but only for the lunch set menu. The drinks are where they make their money!

A full house at a pub that is miles from anywhere has to be a good sign, and we were not disappointed. Wonderful riverside pub with a welcoming ambience and stylishly decorated interior. The food and service was outstanding. I’ve only given 4 stars for food as my brisket was not hot enough, cooked but just would have liked it a little warmer. Didn’t complain because I don’t want to be one of those customers and we couldn’t fault it other than that. Wine is also very expensive £6.10 for one glass 😳 took my husband for birthday meal he loves it there as much as I do. I remember this place, when it was run down and unloved. But what a transformation. The decor is beautiful, the colours and comfortable chairs, make this a beautiful place to eat. I love that you can eat here, for either £20 for a two course meal or £24 for a three course meal. The choice of food on this menu is fantastic and what's even better, so much to choose from, when you are gluton free. The services was excellent, the staff were very pleasant and friendly. We will definitely be going back, what a beautiful gem of a place to have on your backdoor.
