We should go here more. Food is inventive and all the dishes were excellent. They have a great pastry chef as well. The decor is classic prairie style and the setting in the middle of Lincoln Park is awesome. Request a table by the window for a great view of the Chicago skyline.

Wonderful small place that is owned and run by a husband/wife Team. I love that the owners were present and serving us. You can tell that they take pride in their restaurant. The food was fantastic! Wine options are available but there are no cocktails, which threw us for a loop. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend Goosefoot to anyone enjoys fine dining.

At the suggestion of my son & his fiance we stopped by Funkenhausen to try their Restaurant Week menu. The appetizers were just okay. Kale salad is kale salad and the Big Pretzel was underwhelming. The 2nd course dishes were much better. The Spaetzle Cacio & Pepe was very good and my Knackwurst was quite good. The main courses were the best of the night. I had the Pork Loin Schnitzel and my wife had the Zucchini Schnitzel. The breading on the Zucchini Schnitzel was very light and honestly, if I saw this dish on the menu I would have taken a pass. I am glad that Funkenhausen offered this as part of their Restaurant Week Menu. The only quibble we had was with the wine pairings. The wines paired with our meals were execellent, but if you are going to offer a wine pairing with the meal, then by all means make certain that you offer a glass of wine with each dish. Slipping in a glass of milk stout with dessert is lame, especially if you don't drink beer or don't care for milk stout. Fortunately, we were able to give our milk stouts to the couple sitting next to us, otherwise, it would have gone to waste. Next time offer a wine pairing or a beer pairing for the entire menu.

I had such a good time with a friend at Kumiko. We were obsessed with the veggie potato salad and the cocktails were all really amazing (esp. the sea flower). We chatted for 3 hours straight and it was def the highlight of my week. The entrance was really hard to find, but it served a good atmosphere.
