This restaurant has been around for a while and is always quality every-time info. The wait staff is friendly, the menu is simple and elegant with many options and the ambiance feels upscale. Really enjoyed celebrating a retirement dinner and would recommend - and come again. Tartar was a unique, the beef short rib is a staple, and has the best hummus we’ve ever had!

Bonterra is one of our go-to restaurants, the food is always amazing and the ambience is excellent! I usually go during warmer weather to sit on the best patio in Calgary, but new years day in Calgary is not conducive to dining al fresco :-) so this was my first time dining inside - not as lovely as the patio of course but it was still very nice. The food was so good - there was 6 of us for a birthday dinner and so we were able to try a good variety of items on the menu, everything was well prepared and delicious, and the Bartender's Baby cocktail special was a big hit. Best of all was our server, she was an absolute delight and very attentive and friendly (without overdoing it).

We were very impressed with the entire experience. It is not an inexpensive restaurant, but then again, it is a steak house. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional (Jake was our primary server), and the ambiance was great for our family of five, with 3 teenagers. It was a great way to finish off our ski vacation to Whistler/Blackcomb!

"What a lucky find! We were staying up the street at Opus Hotel and found this restaurant on Open Table. I'm so glad we went! The drinks were great, the food was delicious and service was really friendly! We sat in the dining room but the patio doors were open and the heat lamps were on so it was the perfect atmosphere. We come here every year following a visit to the Shaw Theatre and the restaurant never disappoints. The service is very professional and the food tasty and well presented. The price points are reasonable, a wide choice of great wines and a limited number of beers but nevertheless a selection that suits my taste in beers. I recommend the Dunkel lager. We did find the chairs a bit uncomfortable as the cushions are soft and the frame of the chair tends to bite into one thighs! Maybe just the chair I sat on.

We had a small family gathering, 5 guests from Calgary and Welland/Grimsby. The terrace outside, the view was beautiful and the weather perfect. Food was delicious and presentation was excellent. Always a special evening at River Café. The staff support each other and make sure you are well taken care of, regardless if it's a date, a girlfriend night out or a family affair. Exceptional service and very patient with us as we changed our mind on sitting out on the patio during a windy day. They helped celebrate my parents 45th anniversary and made it so special. The chef managed to surprise all 4 of us with a completely unexpected variation on what the menu described in a way that far exceed expectation. We started sitting outside until the sun went down and staff quickly ushered us into the comfort and ambience inside. Definitely will return.

This was our first time eating here and we were pleasantly surprised at the calm atmosphere, efficient service, and impeccable flavours. It was my husbands birthday and came out with a free desert at the end, without me even asking. They accidentally throughout his leftovers and were quick to whip up a new order to resolve the issue. Incredible experience. The best steak I’ve had (blue beef tenderloin). They knew it was our anniversary and brought us a small dessert to share. The restaurant was busy but not noisy. The service was amazing. The ambience amazing. The night was perfect! The only feedback is it was a little pricey- that being said the food was delicious & with costs rising I can’t say it wasn’t worth it -I will def come back
