Another very good meal at Pensons. Excellent service, from the phone call to confirm our reservation through to saying goodbye as we left. The food, wine and mocktails were of a very high standard, as was the friendly and knowledgeable service. The front of house and kitchen staff made a lovely fuss of our daughter, whose birthday it was, which made a special event even more special. Thank you to all the team. We were so happy to be back at the Greyhound, as the last time we had a reservation we ended up with a flat tire and on run-flats, you have to BUY a new tire, so we missed our lunch. But dinner last night exceeded our expectations. The food was always good, but seems to have gotten better. All the amuses are a wonderful treat, especially the chocolates at the end of the meal. Quail was fabulous, Dorset crab was fabulous, and the sirloin absolutely delicious. They always have our favorite wine - "Follow the line" and at a reasonable price too. Staff seemed to be top notch. They were good before, but even better now. Very attentive, but not obtrusive. Except for the loud talking around us, there was a birthday party at one table, and a girls night out at another table, it was a wonderful experience. We want to go back when they have the fireplace lit!!! But highly recommend the restaurant!

We received a lovely warm welcome and the reception staff seemed genuinely interested in us. We were quickly shown to very comfortable seats and a nice table and we were given lots of attention. The head chef, Anthony, came to chat to us as he knew our daughter from her days as a chef in London. That made the visit extra special.
