It all began with a love story and a dream. Linwood, a chef, and Ellen, a reporter, met 36 years ago in a restaurant of course! They married and began to envision that someday they would open a restaurant of their own. The restaurant’s first business plan was written at their dining room table on an electric typewriter. In 1988 Linwoods opened its doors, and it has been a labour of love for more than thirty years.

Linwoods’ cuisine consists of the freshest ingredients, and inventive preparation. Our service is warm and attentive. We have developed a reputation for consistency an attention to detail. These qualities are key to our catering business as well. Our team has worked hard to connect to our community, and we value our customers. These values have been central to Ellen and Linwood’s vision, and we hope are felt by our customers each day.

Besides delicious cuisine, style and service, Linwoods Catering can offer its clients expertise and experience. This comes from almost twenty years of catering events from small celebrations at home to galas for thousands. Linwoods has catered weddings, mitzvahs, corporate events, charity balls, and openings. Our goal is to make our clients happy and relaxed, to provide special menus tailored to your style within your price range. We can also connect you to other reliable vendors, who will help make your event spectacular.
Private party facilities
Linwoods' delicious cuisine, style and service can also be experienced during catered events held at our facility. There are two private rooms, one that seats up to 20 people "Private Dining Room", and "Due", which seats up to 120. "Due" also has the capacity to hold about 150 for cocktails and buffet. There is an outdoor area that can be tented. These areas can accommodate entertainment and a dance floor. These spaces are lovely for weddings, parties, corporate events and meetings, as well as social gatherings.

We went for our anniversary and our table was in a quiet corner. The waiter was friendly and attentive the entire meal. The food was delicious and fresh. Our favorites were the calamari appetizer and the tenderloin entree. They brought out the S’mores dessert with a candle for our anniversary. We will definitely return.

Truly enjoyed our first visit to Linwoods. Very nice atmosphere to relax and enjoy company and a good meal. Service was outstanding and the food was delicious. An excellent lunch. We will definitely visit again and try dinner.

Linwoods is our favorite restaurant in Owings Mills. We always have an awesome experience there! I had the sea bass and it was so delicious. My husband had the fillet and it was perfect!

We always enjoy coming to Linwoods, and last night we had a wonderful dinner with friends. The food and service were excellent, some new items on the menu were interesting options, our waitress was friendly and helpful. This is our favorite place for special occasions. PS, my favorite chicken dish was perfect, best chicken anywhere!

Loved the whole experience, from getting a text as a reminder, the service and food. They split our appetizers and the food preparation , presentation and taste were delicious. Only disappoint, it was our anniversary and the tables were too close together, so we could hear the group of three next to us entire conversation without trying. Otherwise, highly recommend eating here.

Everything that we ordered was excellent. My wife had two small plates--goat cheese Ravioli and Scallops and both were delicious. I had crab soup and Bronzini--both were exceptional. We split a pear tart which was also very good.

The service was extraordinary. He was pleasant and quite accommodating. I was shocked by prices on menu and felt too costly for lunch. The menu was varied and appealing. Recalled the 3 course meal for lunch and brought friends for special outing.

This 36 yr old restaurant is a place I used to take business clients for lunch and tried dinner there and was extremely pleased. The Tuna and Salmon were exceptional and spinach salad was fresh and tasty. Drinks, dessert were all freshly made and definitely will head back here again. Amazingly this place has stayed good over the last 20 yrs I’ve been eating here! Service was really friendly and well trained. Hats off to the owners and entire staff for a great experience!

I like Linwoods, but I wasn’t thrilled with my meal. The Caesar salad was tasty, with just enough dressing and plenty of shaved Parmesan. The pommes fritters were delicious. The New York strip lacked flavor except for the coating on it. The creamed spinach was cold. It feels like a friendly gathering place, that is also romantic. I was disappointed to be seated across from a whiny toddler, whose parents were letting him wander around the tables. The waiters nearly tripped over him a few times. I asked to be moved, and we were accommodated. I will go again, but I won’t order the $62 New York strip steak.

Where are you? Busy and popular. Jamie our waitress was super on top of it. Too many good choices. Crab soup stuffed with jumbo crap. Spinach bacon onion pizza wow! Look forward to it next time we are in the area.

Linwoods never disappoints. The food is always fantastic and the service excellent. Whether you want a salad, burger, great piece of fish or a steak, there's something for everyone. My favorites continue to be the crispy oysters and spicy tuna tartare - most recently these combined to make the perfect lunch (smaller portion of the tuna tartare). My wife had the iceberg salad and lobster tempura, both of which were well-prepared and yummy. The bread is always excellent, and the chef coming out to check on things is always a nice touch.

We've been frequenting Linwoods every since they opened for business. we always celebrate special occasions wedding anniversaries, birthday's Valentines Day, business meetings, retirement parties etc. and we have never been disappointed. Their high quality of food, great presentation, excellent service and impeccable attention to detail is part of what keeps us coming back and recommending them to our family, friends and associates.

We have been to Linwood's several times over the years. For the last two years we have taken my elderly aunt there for her birthday. We have always enjoyed our meals and this visit was no exception. Our server, Madison R., was very attentive but not pushy. My aunt enjoys conversation and eating slow and we ordered appetizers first before ordering our main dishes. All of our food was well prepared, and my wife's beef tenderloin was cooked perfectly medium rare. We will definitely be going back to Linwood's in the future.
