   Delicious food and very creative menu items. Excellent and expert service and very nice ambiance. Prices are reasonable for the e cellebt quality of the dishes.

   The meal was good and our server, Bruce, was excellent. Bruce was VERY attentive and sensitive to my husband's dietary restrictions. Unfortunately, I found my duck to be a tad chewy. There was a gathering in the next room which was quite robust and loud.

   We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks at the bar served by Ryan who was very engaging and knowledgeable. David was our server in the restaurant and again was very engaging. I had the duck entree which was cooked to perfection but was tough. We had ordered some side dishes which didn't arrive with our meal. Apparently, a trainee busser had taken them to another table and by the time we received them we had finished our entrees so we didn't get to enjoy them. For a restaurant of this caliber, I would have expected more of an apology than we received. Overall an ok experience.

   Let me tell you all that in my very best opinion, this was hands down one of thee best, if not the best, restaurant that I’ve ever been to. I ended up in happy tears by the end of the night, side convo my waitress and I were having brought us both to tears! It was stellar customer service from beginning to the end! Even with valet! Celebrating my man bday and we left with our faces smiling from ear to ear, full and very satisfied. The food was above amazing, currently still speechless, and the drinks were strong okay lol and tasty! Every single thing was 5 out of 5 stars! I see why they’ve had diamond awards! We will be back for our anniversary. Jackie, you were absolutely the best waitress we’ve ever had!

   This is one of our favorite restaurants on the east coast. Top notch food, atmosphere and service. Chef has a magic touch with every menu item. We visit every time we are in the Richmond area.

    We came here for my husband's birthday. Our waiter was very friendly and checked in on us frequently to answer any questions. I found it a little weird how we were served with a small slice of bread with butter instead of being given a bread basket like most restaurants. For the appetizer, we got the fried oysters. They were delicious, but the very last oyster that my husband ate still had shells in them (see picture). As for the entrées, they came slightly cold. I got the scallops, and I didn't really like it. The sauces were a little too bitter for me. It was a pretty small portion too, so I was still hungry when I got home. My husband got the duck, and it was alright. I don't think we'll be coming back.

    Great servers, very professional and attentive and the food was exceptional. I would ask for a seat away from the windows if possible, the draft was slightly uncomfortable. I definitely will return!

    For a few moments I thought something had gone wrong with the service, then Nick, the sommelier, popped up with our bottle of Champagne. From that moment on the entire evening bordered on perfection. Service was quick and the food was fantastic. Nick proved to be very well informed on both wine regions and varietals, along with the available wines. According to my spouse the Chenin Blanc with her rockfish was the highlight of more than 40 years of pairings. I nearly shed a tear...

    My wife had a wonderful dinner - scallops, tenderloin and a spiced carrot dish that was absolutely delicious. Sophia, our server, was excellent - patient, articulate and well informed. It was an evening to remember.

    Ray was our server and she was professional and courteous. I started with the fried oysters and they were delicious. They were cooked to perfection and not greasy. The ranch and hot sauce was a great addition to the oysters. I had the crab cake as an entrée. The menu indicated the crab cake was all lump crab and it was not. It had a touch of lump and the rest was backfin. The entree was served with grits and spinach and both were cold. The dessert was amazing I had the strawberry shortcake with cheesecake. I offered my compliments to the pastry chef.

    Absolutely superb experience! The food was excellent - perfectly done with impeccable presentation. Our waiter, Bruce, was incredibly helpful...very informative and attentive without impinging on our dining experience. We will be advising everyone we know that they MUST try it.

    "Lump back crab cake" had only the rarest lump, mostly shred, was quite small, cold as were the grits it was served on top of. Should have sent it back to the kitchen. This was very different from my experience multiple other times when the crab cake/ grits were much better.

    Really nice breakfast in the sunroom. It is always bright and friendly and a great experience to eat there. The food is a little pricey for what it is. However, the service and the overall experience make up for that. Only issue this time was the buzzing of a rather large horsefly against the inside of the window near where we were sitting. It never came after our food and only provided a minor annoyance towards the beginning of our meal.

    Our sitting was 8:30pm on a Monday while the Virginia legislators were still in session. Upon arrival the restaurant was noisy. My date and I wanted a quiet evening together. Once the main entree was served, the restaurant started emptying. And by dessert we almost had Lemaire's to just us two. It turned out delightful.

    This was our first time dining at the iconic Lemaire restaurant in the Jefferson. We were not disappointed at all! Everything was delicious. The service was impeccable. The ambiance was beautiful! Highly recommend if you are looking for a special night out where you can dress up and enjoy some of the finer things in life!
