The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Paul community was the most fashionable at the turn of the 19th century. The St. Paul elite lived just blocks away and the first electric trolley brought visitors up and down Grand Avenue. The Lexington opened in 1935, after the end of prohibition, and was a popular neighborhood bar to gather and socialize. Previously operating as a speakeasy, the expansive wood panels were perfect for hiding a little booze and one can only imagine the shenanigans going on beyond the hidden staircase behind the coat check. For decades following, The Lex, as it’s called by locals and enthusiasts alike, was the place to be seen; business dealings, cocktail hours, and milestone celebrations were a regular occurrence for St. Paul socialites.

    We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Red Rabbit! A friend was visiting from out of town, and because she has some pretty significant dietary restrictions, finding a place where we could all enjoy a night out wasn't easy. I called ahead and spoke with Rich, the manager, who was incredibly welcoming and assured me they could accommodate her. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. Gillian, our server, was amazing, and Rich went above and beyond by personally working with the chef to make sure my friend had a wonderful meal and felt completely taken care of. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the genuine care and attention from the entire team made the evening so special. It's one thing to accommodate a guest's needs, but it's another to make them feel genuinely welcome. Huge thanks to Rich, Gillian, and the entire Red Rabbit team. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly, highly recommend!

    Good stop for a Monday night business dinner. The food was very good. We had two menu standards, mushroom toast and chicken, as well as something new the lobster puff pastry. All of the food items hit their marks, and the service was good enough to make the event a good ending to a day of training.
