- TTracyEast Sussex •1 review4.0Dined 2 days agoOur second visit and it didn't disappoint. Had the mezzanine to ourselves and had a fabulous meal. They managed to keep control of us brilliantly and service was very good. Our waiter's knowledge of the wines, cheeses etc was excellent.More infoThe French Quarter££££• French• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.9
- JjonDevon •4 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoMy wife and I enjoyed a 3-course lunch using a Virgin Experience voucher given to us as a birthday gift. The restaurant itself is like no other, within a 13th century building and tastefully decorated. Beautiful. The food was excellent- pea soup, smoked fish rillette, chicken, sea trout, sticky toffee and a lemon mousse. All wonderfully presented, and delicious. The service matched the food - excellent. Warm, friendly, efficient. Lauren was wonderful and made us feel special. Ten out ten all roundMore infoBlackfriars Restaurant££££• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.7

Was not disappointed and the food was excellent as was the friendly service. Nice touch giving us complimentary Prosecco. - CcarolineToronto / Ontario •8 reviews5.0Dined on Jun 18, 2026Go here quite often on nights out for drinks, had been once before for steak, and it was nice. This time round I felt the steak game had been upped, steak cooked perfectly, got truffle fries and green beans with shallots. All very good, plus a side pot of sauce each. Shared the sides and swapped sauces between myself and boyfriend. Also got a glass of prosecco in it is on deal, since none of us are prosecco drinkers the manager allowed us to swap to half a lager each, perfect service good bar vibe, class music playing in background. A regular haunt for me, would definately return for food.More infoHibou Blanc££££• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.7

The portions are huge and we didn’t expect it because as we know it’s quite expensive everywhere but this place left us amazed. The prices were sooo good for what you get.
