Restaurants near Scripps Institution of Oceanography

A beautiful setting. I had forgotten how limited the menue was. We ended up eating multiple appitizers. Deserts were fantastic.

Wherever we come to California for our vacation, we always make sure we stop at Piatti. The food is consistent, hot fresh savory and aromatic. Their bar drinks are excellent. My veal was cooked to perfection and my husband had with linguine with seafood. We especially come there for their balsamic and dipping sauce for the bread. The service is always great and the food as I said is very consistent.

Second time at The Marine Room and it did not disappoint. The food, service, and drinks were all outstanding. There isn’t a bad seat in the house to have a beautiful view of the ocean. Can’t wait to come back for another special occasion!

Outstanding! We don’t eat out often because I have a ton of food allergies/intolerances including seed oil which is used everywhere unfortunately but they don’t here (except fryer). They use olive oil, serve pasture raised meats, and sustainable (not filled with pesticides) wine which are 3 very important things for me. Food was amazing as was the service. Plenty of options celiac/gluten free. Ambiance is beautiful. Will make this our regular go to date night.

This is always a hot spot to go and the lines at the door prove it. The food portions are large so don't eat too many chips! They have amazing cocktail and drink options and everything on the menu looked so good! The noise level can be high so it was nice to get a patio area table next to a fire pit for a little less crowd noise. Wait staff was attentive and friendly with great recommendations. We will be back and we highly recommend trying Javier's!
