The food is outstanding! However, It took at least a half hour after being seated before we were greeted at our table. It was VERY loud where we were sitting as there were two parties in the same small room that were making way too much noise. It was impossible to carry on a business conversation. That being said, the food made up for the slow service and loud tables.

Portland City Grill is always a fun experience. From the 30th floor of Portland's "Big Pink" the views can be spectacular, and usually are. Over my twenty years as a resident of the Portland area I have been to Portland City many times. Actually my first date, after moving to Portland, was in the bar at Portland City Grill. I have enjoyed the restaurant with many family and friends, and they are always at the ambiance, service, food, and of course the view. I took a friend there for Thanksgiving Dinner in 2024, the restaurant had a special Thanksgiving Dinner meal, with all the fixings included. We had a wonderful view of Mount Hood. The staff provided excellent service, even with the restaurant being very busy, we still felt well cared for, and the meal was terrific.

We went to Metropolitan for the Thankgiving Buffet and we were very happy with the food and service. No buffet will be as good as home cooking, but they had a nice array of the basic TGfoods. The Turkey was excellent, very moist. They also had prime rib that was excellent and very generous portion when carved, and grilled salmon that my husband said was excellent. I’m not usually a mashed potatoes fan, especially on a buffet but these were some of the best I’ve ever had. They offered 3 types of deserts as well. They were seating in the main restaurant and in the Cosmopolitan Ballroom with the buffet set up in between so the flow was great and did not seem crowed even though it seamed full at the time we went. We were seated promptly at our reservation time and the server greeted us right away, explained the service and was taking drink orders and checking in meal. We also did not feel rushed to leave to turn the table although this may have been because we were dinning at 3pm. The price of $50 pp I thought was on par or very reasonable for the quality of buffet they presented. I will very much consider this again next year for our holiday dinner. Oh, and the view is excellent!
