- KkathySan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoTruly one of our favorite restaurants. Today's lunch adventure was - well - an adventure. We drove from my daughter's and son-in-law's house in Oakland which should have taken 1 hour. it took over 2 hours to get to Half Moon Bay because of the weather. It was HOT inland and everyone was migrating to the Pacific. We had to change our arrival time twice because of the traffic. But we persevered. Pasta Moon still had the special of buffalo mozzarella with Santa Cruz tomatoes and both fresh basil and pesto on the menu that we had last month. It is the best caprese I've ever had. There is no skimping on the cheese as there is more than enough cheese for every tomato. My main course was house-made pappardelle pancetta without the pancetta and with extra wild mushrooms (I'm the vegetarian). My husband had his the real way - with the pancetta. He finished his huge portion and I finished half which is wonderful. He will be so jealous when I get to enjoy my 'second' Pasta Moon' lunch tomorrow. My daughter had Spaghetti Puttanesca with day boat sea scallops, clams, mussels, spicy tomato, oil cured olives, capers, anchovy. My son-in-law had their lasagna. We all were in heaven. For dessert it was one butterscotch pudding shared by all of us because we were all so full. Our server is a sweetie. He also served us last month when we were there for dinner. It is a real treat to dine there. It's a bit far for a regular visit because we live more than 2 hours away. But the reward is so worth the lovely drive up the coast.More infoPasta MoonPrice: Moderate• Italian• Half Moon Bay•4.7

The service and the food - we opted for different paninis - were outstanding. We will be back for sure.More infoIt's ItaliaPrice: Moderate• Italian• Half Moon Bay•4.8

Their outdoor patio is relaxing, though this time around the background music was a bit loud. Staff is friendly and attentive.More infoLa CostaneraPrice: Expensive• Peruvian• Half Moon Bay•4.6

- KKatieSan Francisco Bay Area •2 reviews4.0Dined on Sep 25, 2024The food was really good and service was great. I just wish it wasn’t too pricey thus I feel it’s a bit over priced, especially for lunch which was when we were there. We didn’t have the live jazz music and the portion was smaller for lunch. And I was surprised that they are charging 3% extra if we paid by a credit card. I understand it’s common these days but for a restaurant that priced their food quite high to do that is a bit nickel and dime their customers! We went there for our 20th anniversary celebration and we noted it on our reservation but we didn’t get any acknowledgement. 😩A simple writing “happy 20th anniversary” on our desserts plate would be nice!More infoFattoria E MarePrice: Expensive• Italian• Half Moon Bay•4.3
