The impressive accolades of Oxfordshire Restaurant of the Year and Best Gastropub, are richly deserved for the White Hart. Set in the picturesque village of Fyfield, The White Hart is the ultimate country pub and offers one of the finest foodie dining experiences in the county. Housed in a stunning 15th century chantry, customers can choose to eat under the soaring eaves of the great hall, up high in the minstrel's gallery, in the cosy bar by the fire or on the beautiful patio terrace. With a passion for provenance, the kitchen sources food from the very best local suppliers and grow much of their own fruit and vegetables. Mark even fishes for his own crayfish and trout from the local reservoir! Cooking is modern British and menus change daily depending on what is fresh and seasonal - with the signature slow roasted pork belly, with foot long crackling, being a favourite.

As always, The Ivy didn’t disappoint. Stunning decor, graceful ambience- brought together by thoughtful accents, rich colours, textured fabric and bold art. Even the washrooms are beautiful. Excellent professional service, where the whole team, from front of house to bar to waiting staff to kitchen, are in obvious concert with one another. As such, the whole dining experience was totally harmonious. Staff were always on hand, there just when you needed them. They had a visible rapport with one another, but kept their focus on the customer, serving everyone swiftly and with charm. Cheerful, conscientious, efficient and attentive. The food was cooked to perfection, and exceeded expectations. With ingredients that were fresh, delicious and well prepared, the presentation was so pleasing to the eye. The flavours, heavenly. The menus, from drinks to food, were wonderfully simple, yet well chosen for variety, complementary notes, superior style and quality. Whenever I’m in Oxford or London, The Ivy is my go to. Not only a solidly reliable dining choice whatever the occasion, but consistently marvellous as an all round experience too. Many thanks for another great afternoon at The Ivy! ❤️

We had the lunch menu and the food was excellent. I had a brilliant crab on sourdough starter and a really outstanding roast pork dish. Service was attentive but also unobtrusive. The ambience was very pleasant, and my friend and I lingered over a most enjoyable lunch.
