This was a perfect place to celebrate a special birthday. The ambiance was lovely and the steak was truly delicious; the chef was not at all daunted by the request to cook it “Pittsburgh style.” We can also highly recommend the grilled pear salad and the truffle cavatelli. Outstanding service by Alexandra complemented the outstanding meal. Wonderful choice for a special night out.

So happy to have Chop House Tavern in Staunton. The ambience of the restaurant is warm, cozy -think elegant library vibes minus the stuffiness of a library. The food is outstanding, the wine selection is curated, cocktails are innovative and dessert is delish. The staff is fantastic. Welcoming, kind, knowledgeable, non-intrusive. I took my parents for my Dad's birthday last evening and we had the most wonderful time. Thank you all so much for accommodating our specials need as well-my Mom has dementia and going out to eat isn't always smooth. Chop House Staff was incredibly gracious and kind to her and it was the most enjoyable dinner with her I have had in months. THANK YOU ALL!

Food was great, ambience was great and our server friendly and efficient. There was no piano playing and so conversation was easy. We made a 40 minute drive to dine there and will do so again.

This was my first time dining at Black Cow Chophouse, and it was an excellent experience. We were there during happy hour when drinks are discounted and at least one meat entree is, so if you chose, you could get a very delicious meal and beverage for under$30. The menu is varied with delicious sides served family style. Our salads came with our steaks and were excellent as was the fresh bread and butter. The desserts did not disappoint, particularly the cherry crème brûlée. Service here is top notch. The vibe is cool and unpretentious. We did feel slightly rushed to finish so the next seating could begin, but I get that this fabulous restaurant has high demand, as it should. My compliments to the entire staff.
