Roo's Leap is a family-run restaurant housed in the former Albert Clubhouse, built in 1901, offering wonderful views over the world's fifth-oldest golf course.Since 1984, we have provided warm, attentive service in a relaxed, welcoming setting, ideal for families, golfers, & visitors. We are committed to serving honest, high-quality food prepared with genuine care.Our beef & pork is sourced from Yorkes of Dundee, with premium cuts aged for a minimum of 35 days in a Himalayan salt chamber. We cook over charcoal in our Josper oven, slow-cook select cuts for exceptional tenderness, & hand-press our burgers using grass-fed beef. Our Koffmann fries are cooked in beef dripping.We source British chicken, free-range eggs from Tillygloom Farm, fresh fish from Blue Flag in Peterhead, & seasonal vegetables from Turriffs.     We generally go for Sunday Roast, a change of plan this week and what a reward it was ! Fantastic Pork dish with the most wonderful veg, the Chicken supreme was absolutely sublime. Full of flavour and Excellent presentation, quality throughout. Great choice of Wines and Beer. The staff as always make you feel so welcome and their attention is the perfect level. My partner has only one issue and that is me posting good reviews - She’s said I’ll make the Grill too popular ! and we’d struggle to get a table.

    I booked this for a birthday lunch with no knowledge of the restaurant or area. Roo’s Leap far surpassed my expectation. On entering there was a lovely feel to the place enhanced by the Aborigine art mural on the stairwell. We were greeted warmly and given an excellent table overlooking the links. A nice touch was the birthday card on the table! Our waitress (Rachell?) was friendly, relaxed and welcoming - we immediately felt at ease. The food was excellent in quality and quantity and demonstrated some excellent flavours. Service also was just right. Unfortunately we do not live in the area otherwise I think visits to Roo’s Leap would become very frequent. An excellent lunch and one of the best dining experiences I’ve enjoyed in a long time. Loved it!!

    From beginning to End our experience was fabulous. Upon arrival we noted that the staff had made us a little note recognising our anniversary, which was a nice touch. The service was attentive but non-intrusive with perfect timing between courses. The food itself was of an amazing standard and cooked to perfection with detailed presentation. For the standard of food that we had we found the price wholly appropriate. 100% will go again and will be recommending.
