Being at the Walnut Room was like going back in time when social gatherings were special, when service was first class, and restaurants produced delicious food and took time in their presentation. This was a treat for me!

Went for brunch with my girlfriends. We had the best server I wish I could remember her name? She had the perfect amount of chatting & joking with us to giving us time. We all enjoyed are food & drinks

We celebrated my dad’s 79th birthday and my mom’s 77th birthday, just three days apart, at Smith & Wollensky. We wanted to take them somewhere new, and the riverfront location—with valet parking and easy access—made it a perfect choice. My parents have lived on the South Side their whole lives, and my dad spent 28 years as a Chicago police officer there. He usually stayed away from downtown, so we were especially happy to find a place he really enjoyed. The wait staff was absolutely fantastic: welcoming, attentive, and on top of everything throughout the evening. And the food was stunning—every dish came out perfectly and tasted incredible. My mom was so excited that she dressed up and spent the night before reading reviews of the menu items. We all had a wonderful birthday dinner. Smith & Wollensky made the evening feel special from start to finish, and we can’t wait to come back. This place never disappoints!

We had caesar salad, charred pepperoni pizza and the sundae with lemon curd and citrus shell, all was the best! Outside seating with a river view, all outstanding!

Really incredible experience both food and atmosphere! Will be back and if you can request Michael as your waiter, please do. He was excellent at explaining the menu and providing recos!
