    Always a treat to have dinner at Zama when in Bakersfield. The only negative on this visit was how fast the service was..it was a Monday and not very busy. Prefer a little pause (at least 20 minutes) between cocktails and dinner. The food order came within 10 minutes of the cocktail..wish we had said to allow some time before bringing food. The empanadas and cochinita pibil were delish. We were seated and out the door in 45 minutes.

    Tahoe Joe's Wood Grilled Chicken and Joe's Steak slow-roasted tri-tip are our favorites! We love the salted crunchy-skinned baked potato with copious amounts of butter and chives, and the Champagne Vinaigrette can't be beat! The BBQ sauce for the gluten-free customer and the Whisky Peppercorn sauce for others, are superb! Top it off with great ambiance, dim lights at a private table, and the class and accent of server "Sergio" who makes the evening elevated to fine dining and personable. Sergio is there to serve you with special needs and adds to the experience to make it a delighful evening.
